The Space:

This coastal three bedroom 1.5 bathroom retreat puts the ocean at your footsteps. It offers the ultimate beach lifestyle with an effortless 10 minute walk to Marlboro beach. Walk along the beach in low tide to explore tidal pools, seaglass and oceanlife in the sand. View the mountain range of Acadia National Park and the ocean coastline from the spacious windows for a view from every room. Relax in the yard with your morning coffee and listen to the birds and the tide coming in. Finish your day with dinner on the grill and star-gazing at the incredible starry Maine skies with little light pollution.

This one floor living offers a wonderful space for making memories with the family of all ages.

Cottage layout:

The open floor plan kitchen, living room and dining room offer a wood buring firplace, board games and a smart TV for making memories.

The dining room and kitchen have all of the cooking supplies, appliances and everything you will need for a family of 6.

There is a washer/dryer in the basement for your convenience.



Acadia National Park and Schoodic Point are approx 15 miles

Ellsworth with Hannafords, Shaws, Walmart, Shopping, Restaurants are approx 8 miles

Bar Harbor is approx 15 miles

Acadia National Park Gateway Center approx 5 miles



Guest Access:

A yard with an apple tree that the birds love to visit, with a little stream next to it (when there has been rain).



A short walk down to Marlboro Beach in Raccoon Cove directly from the house. One of the most beautiful walks, and not crowded.



The Neighborhood:

Have your cake and eat it too! Quiet, close to Acadia, walking distance to the shore, and with a view of the ocean and Cadillac Mountain. You can watch the first sunrise of the United States of America with a hot cup of coffee from the living room, or from a couple of the bedrooms!!



Walk from the cottage to Marlboro Beach in Raccoon Cove for access to the ocean, and more views of Acadia and Coastal Maine. This is a town-owned beach that is loved by locals, and does not see the foot traffic of some of the more popular national park attractions.



The town of Lamoine has additional beaches as well. One is the Lamoine Beach Park, with a picnic area.

This is a quiet neighborhood with neighboring houses.



The house is a quarter acre in size, with lots of lawn to be outside on, and chairs to relax in.



There is an apple tree with a small stream to the side of the house (when there has been rain). The deer and birds love to visit!



Getting Around:

Driveway easily parks three cars.

“My wife and I stayed at the Plum Way home for the third week of August 2017.

What a GEM of a Maine coast vacation home! Good for a couple looking for a quiet getaway on the coast of Maine or for a family with lots of kids ready for Downeast Adventures on local trails and ponds, or in Acadia National Park. The views from the large living room windows and from the private backyard are stunning. The mountains of Acadia National Park, Mount Desert Island, and Frenchman’s Bay are just RIGHT THERE!



The home itself is charming, comfortable and it makes for a lovely vacation getaway. Sea breezes keep the home cool during the day and we slept with the windows open to hear the fantastic birdsong coming from the yard and “nearby natural gardens”. The kitchen, which includes a full refrigerator and a wonderful full stove was fun to prepare seafood and other meals. We even made a tasty apple pie from apples from the tree in the yard. The well-appointed and comfortable living room made for a fun place to play games, read, and watch videos. It was also a great place to just hang out, eat lunch in the big bay window and watch the local wildlife taking advantage of the fruits of the apple tree that is just feet from the living room window (including a very happy porcupine that would climb into the tree for an apple treat!).



We appreciated the easy drive to Acadia Schoodic Point, Blue Hill and other places along the Downeast coast. The local public swimming pond is just 5 minutes away and is a great place to swim, kayak, or just cool off in the shade of the mature trees. From the house, we walked down to the nearby public tidal cove (easy 10 minute walk) daily and enjoyed the sunrises and the sunsets from both there and from the house. This vacation home has it all. We were charmed by the Plum Way vacation home and we think you will be, too!”
