Charmantes, voll ausgestattetes Cottage mit Privatstrand in der Nähe des Acadia-Nationalparks

Dies ist ein bewaldetes Anwesen an der Tiefseepromenade der Union River Bay. Besucher können leicht zu Fuß zum ca. 400 m langen Privatstrand gehen, an dem Kajaks, Kanus und Paddleboards abgelegt werden können. Weißkopfseeadler, Fischadler, Seetaucher, Enten, Kormorane, Graureiher und Seehunde bevorzugen uns häufig bei Besuchen. Ein Tiefwasserliegeplatz kann nach vorheriger Absprache ebenfalls verfügbar sein. Da der Strand nach Südwesten ausgerichtet ist, sind Sonnenuntergänge oft göttlich.

Die 1200 Quadratmeter große Hütte befindet sich im Wald, etwa 100 Meter vom Haupthaus entfernt. Es beinhaltet:

- Schlafzimmer mit 2 Doppelbetten und eigenem Badezimmer

- Speise- / Frühstücksbereich

Das Haus bietet Wi-Fi, Kabelfernsehen, einen Gasgrill, Gartenmöbel, Klimaanlage und Heizungen.

Die Unterkunft liegt in der Nähe des Haupteingangs zum Acadia-Nationalpark (21 km), der Stadt Bar Harbor (25 km) und der Stadt Ellsworth (8 km). Besucher haben einfachen Zugang zu dem breiten Angebot an Outdoor-, touristischen, kulinarischen und Einkaufserlebnissen, das in diesem schönen und historischen Teil Neuenglands geboten wird.

This was our second stay at Brant's place, which I hope will convey how much we enjoyed our first visit. The location of the property makes for easy travel to the main hiking trails in Acadia and to Bar Harbor and Southwest Harbor. The house is well-appointed and roomy and is a couple of minute walk to a long rocky beach by the bay, which my wife and dog both swam in. Brant is warm and friendly and responsive to questions or requests. He has two friendly dogs that our dog had a lot of fun playing with.

The loon cottage was well appointed, clean and comfortable. Everything we needed was there for our week visit. Brant and Maggie are gracious hosts. We enjoyed our visits with Brant and dogs Millie and Angel. The dog friendliness of the cottage was great for us with a perfect beach (that our toddler loved too!) and trails to walk. Location is central to many amenities, sites and restaurants. We will be back!

Loon Cottage is a Gem

Wow, what an incredible place! Loon Cove Cottage is truly a treasure and I am so grateful that we got to spend our vacation there. Brant and Maggie are incredible hosts. They are attentive, caring, and extremely knowledgeable about everything in the area- restaurants, wildlife, hiking trails, and more! Brant provided detailed information about the property upon arrive and was very easy to chat with. He was kind enough to share fresh eggs laid by their chickens on the property. Angel and Millie (Brant and Maggie’s dogs) were the BEST companions on walks around the property. The cottage itself was spotlessly clean. It had little bits of vintage charm that reminded me of my childhood. It is close to Acadia and downtown Ellsworth- we highly recommend Union River Lobster Pound, Pugnuts for ice cream, and the Airline for pub food. The shower was hot with good pressure. The beds were comfortable- we slept well every night. We did end up buying a pack of two pillows from TJ Maxx. I have chronic pain and am a very picky sleeper- we left those at the cottage for others to enjoy. The kitchen was stocked with pots, pans, etc. to cook dinner. The den was my favorite room- great view of the forest with a lovely reading nook. The beach was easily accessible- we spent lots of time there looking for sea glass, shells, and neat rocks. There is even a bald eagle nest on the property- we saw the eagle often up in the trees. Thank you Brant & Maggie for sharing this special place with us!!!

From start to finish this was a fantastic stay. Brant and Maggie were very welcoming, and so were the two dogs. They gave us a tour of the guest house and the property. The guest house is surrounded by trees, it is quiet, and all the amenities and features were as described. The beach is a very short walk on clear path around the main house. We saw bald eagles, ospreys, harbor seals and sea glass from the beach. It felt like being in a postcard and we called it home for the 7 days we stayed there. It’s located in Trenton, which makes it easy to access the surroundings, including Acadia and Schoodic. It’s 12 minutes from Ellsworth which has everything you need, plus a good crafting scene, and 23 minutes to Bar Harbor which, along with Acadia Natl Park, is absolutely worth visiting. Brant and Maggie also had good recommendations of what to visit and where to eat.

Lovely cottage by the water!

We had a wonderful trip to Maine and staying at Brant and Maggie’s cottage made it even sweeter. The house is exactly as shown in the pictures plus a comfy master bed (assume twins in kid’s rooms too). We like it chilly so we used the Heat pump (which kept it cool and we were so thankful for). The property the cottage is on is lovely, truly magical. We saw deer, nesting (and flying) bald eagles and my children have already expressed that they miss Brant and Maggie’s pups Milly and Angel. We enjoyed walking down to the beach daily to see the eagles, walk on the rocks and hunt for crabs or sea glass. It’s an easy 30-40 yard walk that made the property exceptional. We were welcomed kindly by Brant and also had a bottle of wine and local treats waiting on us at the house. 20-30 mins to Acadia and Bar Harbor, 10 minutes to grocery and super Walmart if items are needed. Thank you Brant and Maggie!

Great vacation spot near Mount Desert

we had a wonderful time. The cottage is in tip top condition, fully equipped, great amenities. Brant and Maggie shared lots of local lore--restaurant recommendations, etc--and could not have been nicer. Can't say enough terrific about this experiencej And it's a very quiet and private location about 5 miles from Ellsworth and a pleasant 25 min or so drive to Acadia National Park. would be suitable for a couple or a family of 4.

Loon Cottage

Nice quiet location about 25 minutes from Bar Harbor & Bass Harbor & 45 minutes to Schoodic Peninsula (highly recommend). Place was very clean. It is located in woods but follow a short mulched path to Bay front beach area. Our dog loved her daily morning swim even though water was about 50 degrees. Our 2nd trip to ANP, and we don’t plan on cooking, but liked the comfortable bed, washer/dryer, and that it was a small home. Brant showed us how everything worked upon arrival, and made sure we knew he was available if we needed help/had questions. His home is also on 12-acre property but we had our privacy. After spending our days exploring the area, nice to come back to quiet home.

Fun Maine Getaway

My husband and I loved spending two weeks at this cozy quiet cabin in the woods. Our dog really enjoyed the freedom to wade in the water and to explore the woods and beach on the property. We used the cabin as a convenient base for hikes in Acadia and exploring nearby towns and restaurants. Brant and Maggie were wonderful hosts. They were very helpful with offering suggestions for restaurants, hikes and shops. We hope to return!

Very accommodating and hospitable host with a great dog friendly property! We were very comfortable, loved the beach and are going to miss our morning walks with the dogs. Excellent location to access Mt. Desert Island, Bar Harbor and Acadia. Will definitely be back.

Loon Cottage

Loon Cottage is a peaceful place, nestled in the woods. Mistakenly, we assumed from the photos that it had water views. It does not. As an older couple (mid-70s), the patio also came as a disappointment. It is a gravel area, down three unevenly spaced steps, with no hand rail. Seating and stairs made the area less than conducive to outdoor reading or dining. That being said, we had a great time! Brant is a most gracious and thoughtful host. The shore walk to the beach is a beautiful commune with nature. It is a lovely private beach that our dog throughly enjoyed. We loved the rooster crowing in the distance each morning. Sunsets did not disappoint, and we even had a bald eagle sighting. Great 11 days!!

Cozy and Convenient Cottage/Great location

Brant was an exceptional host keeping contact with us/showing us around the property/and making sure we had everything we needed to be comfortable. We will be back in the near future. My husband enjoyed taking pictures of the wildlife, while my children sat on the shore watching the sunset.

What a wonderful place to stay

The cottage is in a fantastic location (secluded in the woods, yet not far from Acadia), Brant and Maggie could not have been more attentive and welcoming, and the access to the beach made the trip complete! After only being there an hour, my nine year old daughter asked if we can come back again next summer. We've already booked for 2024, so the answer is yes!
