This home is absolutely beautiful! The location is perfect. Everything is in walking distance and the subway and trains are so close . The best part of our stay was meeting Marian. Great spot for work trip

The flat is lovely, spacious, clean and comfortable. It offers the perfect combination of individual room space as well as a bright open common area, which was perfect for our team to debrief from our daily meetings. It is a great spot for a family or group of colleagues or friends. Very conveniently located as well. We walked almost everywhere we needed to go.

The apartment is in a fantastic location, right by Checkpoint Charlie and tons of sights! The apartment is gorgeous and very well maintained. The apartment was a great size for 3 adult woment and is very large and can easily fit more people. Very convenient to coffee shops, markets and restaurants. Cool building in the heart of Berlin - but there are cons

There are both pros and cons to this VRBO. First the pros: the building is very historic, the flat is huge, nice little balcony, two nice sized bathrooms, tons of great restaurants, museums and other sites within walking distance. The cons: getting into and out of the apartment is like Fort Knox (multiple codes, keys, etc) - particularly getting in the first time is very confusing; the "silence past 10 pm" is no joke - we had a door open to get some air, 2 of us chatting and laughing around 11 pm and we were reprimanded; basically, assume you will be in bed and not making a sound past 10 pm; the "city tax to be paid in cash only" is shady and I'm sure a scam.

Dear Guest, Thank you very much for taking the time to share your feedback. For clarity: there are two codes—one to collect the gate keys upon arrival, and another for the apartment door. Following Jennifer’s review, we now also provide a web link to open the apartment door, and we hope to offer a web link for the gate in the future as well. Guests who read the check-in instructions in their personal guest folder usually manage without any issues. Additionally, as in Jennifer’s case, we always try to personally assist with the check-in whenever possible. Please also note: the inner courtyard amplifies sound. If windows are open, neighbours may be disturbed by loud conversations. In such cases, we kindly ask guests to simply close the windows. Regarding the city tax: it used to be processed through the booking platform. Due to technical issues, this is not possible. However, all guests receive information about this well in advance.

Historic, comfortable and roomy apartment in heart of Berlin

We had an incredible stay in this beautiful and spacious apartment. We had plenty of space and all of the amenities we needed. The neighborhood was lovely, with easy access to public transit, proximate to grocery and dining, and an easy walk to quite a few of Berlin’s many landmarks. The apartment was incredibly comfortable and had everything our family of four needed. Our host, Marion, was very welcoming, shared lots of interesting history of the building, as well as providing clear instructions and very helpful recommendations. We would definitely return the next time we visit Berlin.

A very recommandable place for a family sojourn in Berlin

Excellent property in every respect. Very nice location. Comfortable, attractive apartment. All well thought out included details such as soap in bathrooms, detergent for washing machines and dishwasher, plastic bags for garbage, etc . How to improve? a few more kitchen towels for a long stay , an extra set of glasses for 6 residents and a few more explanations about the payment system for the washing machine.

Spacious, clean and great location!

The apartment is very spacious and very clean!! It had everything we needed for our short stay. Having 2 bathrooms and private bedrooms was hard to find. The only con is the cost to do laundry. We thought it was was $2euro/load but it’s $2/20 min! So make sure you choose the right settings and add money right away or it times out and shuts off. The location was great. There were many restaurants and things to see in the area. We walked everywhere. The train station is also close. We highly recommend this place r. Also, make sure you do the online checkin several days before you arrive!!

Don't Hesitate to Book!

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Marian and his wife's apartment in Berlin! From the moment we arrived, they went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. Their hospitality was exceptional, with thoughtful touches throughout our stay that made us feel right at home. The apartment itself was immaculate, stylish, and equipped with everything we needed. Its location was perfect, nestled in a great neighborhood with easy access to public transportation, sites, shops, and restaurants. It's very central and walkable to so much as well. Marian and his wife were always available to provide excellent recommendations and assistance, making our Berlin experience even more memorable. We can't thank them enough for their kindness and generosity. If you're up for it rent bikes in the lobby downstairs and head over to the Zenner Biergarten in the park along the river. This was a recommendation Marian gave us which was fantastic! Also take some time to talk to them about the history of their beautiful building. It's really quite amazing. You do have to walk up three flights to the apartment, but provided you are able bodied we highly recommend staying at Marian's apartment for anyone visiting Berlin! Thank You!

Excellent week with family

Clean spacious quiet conformable flat for family or friends, with 3br (two twins in each room, which can be kept together side by side for couples) and 2bathrooms each with shower (no tub). Bthrms are at front end of the hallway, not en suite. Water is good and hot. Building is secure, with a quiet courtyard behind a private gate. There's a luggage room you can access to store bags before check-in time. Flat is walk-up on 3rd floor. Located a couple blocks south of Checkpoint Charlie, close to U6 and U3 stops, very walkable to Brandenburg Gate + Museum Island. You can make coffee, bfast and keep food and drinks at the apartment of course, but there's a good coffee place across the street that opens 7:30 weekdays, and 3 or 4 other coffee places a few minutes away. Bring (or buy locally) soap and shampoo you like. Owners are responsive and helpful. Detailed check-in/access and other instructions are sent a couple days before your arrival. We had no issues - TV with Netflix, good windows, plumbing, appliances, closets etc. If you do laundry, there are machines in the apt, but multiple 2—euro coins will be needed.

Cash or else

The property is well located, spacious and serviceable but furnished with the minimum, cheapest furnishings, including rock hard beds and uncomfortable pillows. Generally we'd have been fine with this but for the experience we had with the host. Our flight was cancelled so we arrived 15 hours late. Since we'd paid in full we figured this didn't matter. In this case the host fined us EUR50 for arriving late, pointing to an obscure clause in the rental contract. The property had also been advertised "parking on premises", but the host then stated that the charge for parking was an additional EUR15 / day. He insisted on the late arrival and parking fee being paid in cash. We asked for an invoice and to pay electronically, which he refused. He told us to put the cash in an envelope and deposit this in "post box 11", filming ourselves doing it. We could not locate post box 11 and when we told him this he insisted on collecting the cash in person. When we again suggested paying electronically the host contacted VRBO and agreed with them that they would hold back our full deposit pending receipt of this cash. We contacted VRBO separately, but they were not helpful or interested that there can only be bad explanations for insisting on cash. The locks to the property are electronic we feared that the host would change the code while we were out unless his cash demand was met. After he'd harassed us with messages for 2 days running we paid the extortion money.

Hallo Berlin

Diese schöne Wohnung in der Friedrichstraße liegt sehr zentral und verkehrsgünstig. U-Bahn nicht weit entfernt.Wir haben auch eine Show im Friedrichstadtpalast besucht. Sehr zum Empfehlen, einfach super. Das Restaurant "Hans im Glück " bietet leckere Burger an. Der Gastgeber Herr Stoica, war sehr freundlich undprofessionell und stellte uns alle nützlichen Informationenfür einen angenehme Aufenthalt zur Verfügung. Aucherzählte er uns die Geschichte über dieses Historische Gebäude. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt und empfehlen diese Wohnung gerne weiter.

U Bahn fast vor der Haustür....Parken vor der Wohnung sehr gut möglich....Edeka und viele Restaurants in naher Umgebung. Sehr empfehlenswert, ich würde es sofort wieder buchen.

Schöne Wohnung in top Lage!

Große saubere Wohnung im Zentrum von Berlin. Nur 15 Gehminuten zum Postdamer Platz entfernt. Eine super Unterkunft für bis zu 6 Personen.

Sehr schöne Wohnung in historischem Ambiente

Gute Ausstattung, durchdachtes Konzept. Sehr geräumig Wohnungen zum Innenhof sehr ruhig. Nah zur U6 (Kochstraße. Oder Hallesches Tor) und zur U2 (Stadtmitte). Einkaufsmöglichkeiten (Edeka, Lidl, Bäcker) in der Nähe.
