The blue house was just lovely! What a fantastic location! Near the beaches, restaurants, and lots of other attractions. We had the best time with lots of space to spread out and enjoy the ocean views from the property. Would absolutely stay here again! Thank you for a great stay!

Beautiful Beachfront location

I spent my 40th birthday with my wife and a group of friends. The apartment is very well kept, clean and beautifully decorated. Minutes walk from the beach, casino, and Barceloneta neighborhood. I would definitely stay there again if given the opportunity.

Americas Cup

Perfect location for Americas Cup, we could view the races from the balcony. We enjoyed our stay in Barcelona and this condo was are base, grocery store and restaurant right in the square. Host was very responsive to all questions. I would recommend this location.

Very nice place close to the beach!

Ignacio is a very nice guy and we had an awesome time at his place. Unfortunately the whirlpool didnt work so make sure you check with him if its working again. Aside that all was good and the location is really exceptional!

It is practically right on the beach and close to everything. Double locked entry. Elevator to room. We loved our stay there. And there is even a mall underground in the courtyard out back. and a park just outside the front door. My only suggestio9n would be to provide a booklet withy instructions on how to operate the washer/dryer in English and maybe other languages for the guests who stay there.

We stayed here for four nights in March 2012 with two families of three adults and five kids. There was plenty of room for all of us to spread out. The apartment is ideally located. Easy access to the metro, great views of the city and the ocean and lots of restaurants to choose from along the water. The apartment is comfortable and you'll find just about everything you need for a pleasant stay. We would love to stay here again. We've been to Barcelona several times and found this place to be the most memorable.

Apartments with a view

This property was perfect for our group of six. It had a beautiful view of the Mediterranean Sea. Its location was perfect. Close to Barceloneta Beach. Close to the Casino which had a Hop On Hop Off stop. Large grocery store right next door. The apartment was well equipped and comfortable. Communication with owner was easy. Responses to questions were immediate. Highly recommend this property.

Great place, location, value and owner!

The view from the apartment and its location are excellent. Great beach across the street and plenty of nearby restaurants. Apartment is spacious, clean and well-kept. The owner is very attentive and is quick to respond to any questions. Elevator lets you out at the door to the apartment on the 6th floor and the loft on the seventh floor is gigantic. Finally, the price per night we thought to be a great value. Ours was a family vacation with my wife, two daughters in their 20's and a boyfriend and we all had plenty of privacy within the apartment and cannot wait to go back.

Our stay at the olympic Blue House

We arrived 7 mai and stayed till 9 mai. Ignacio was very friendly as we arrived. He gave us some good adresses. It was a clean appartment, super for 7 guys who wanted to explore Barcelona... The appartment was super, with a great view and a super location near Port Olympic. I would recommend this appartment to everybody... When one of us goes back to Barcelona, we will certainly stay in the blue house of Ignacio and his wife... THX

Barcelona stay

Great location close to the beach, several restaurants and a supermarket. It was easy to get taxi rides right in front of the building. The space was nice with 6 twins and a queen so fit our party of 8 perfectly. The staircase to the upper room is a small spiral staircase so be aware of that. Wasn’t an issue for us other than getting the suitcases up there. It would have been nice to have more towels, but we just ran them down to the laundromat right by the apartment and got them washed. There is a balcony that looks out over the marina and the beach. Great place to hang out and have a coffee or beer! Overall a great place!

good appartment but really bad condition

In general the appartment is located very well: near the beach, nice view from balcony, good size for groups. BUT the condition of this appartment is very very bad! it seems to be that it wassnt cleaned since months/ years. it was so dirty when we reached the appartment....unbelievable that owner rebrobate this nice appartment in such a way. unfortunatly i cannot add pictures here but let me list some examples: 1. kitchen: the furniture was dirty. not just the outside also inside the cupboards it was really dirty. 2. glasses in kitchen: we used the dishwasher several times to clean up all the glasses....without success. the dirty and the glasses/cups/dishes gets one piece. 3. the table in the living room: dirt, dirt, dirt.... 4. you couldnt walk without shoes in the appartment. if you do this, then you have black feets afterwards 5. towles: light brown spots are on it 6. beds: a small blood spot on the bed sheet 7. "couch" on the balcony with a bigger brand mark on it. ok..it was turned around, but the pillows were also dirty. 8. upper floor: it smelled mysterious. nobody dare to sleep there ;) 9. whirpool in upper floor: an old towel was used for the water coock...i dont know why...i didnt checked it. this are just some examples. the owner is not present during the handover of the flat. just a women who cannot understand english. just spainish language. maybe this is pupose by the owner. i told her that flat is dirty during handover....she said that she will do something. but in summary she did nothing. i also contacted owner and inform him about the dirt. he told me that flat was cleaned before. 6hours took the cleaning...i dont know which appartment was cleaned, but not this one. he offered me to send women again to clean it...but it was waste of time for me. why should i wait and spend my holidays for this? (we just stayed 3 days) anyhow. the best time of this appartment is over. it needs a general basic cleaning and also some new furnitures like beds or accessoires like towels, flatware, ... i never would visit appartment again in this condition. dont trust the nice looking pictures.

You showed up at the apartment at 9:30 am. when he was informed that was not available until 15h. because that day was a chec out from other guests. In the apartment was the cleaning woman, who needs six hours to make it available. You told the woman to leave the apartment, and would let him work. After dirt complains and demands apartment cleaning. I offer woman to clean the apartment and did not answer, he says nothing. Is this normal, really? I think I did not want to pay for the cleanup and take the offer last minute stay at a cheap price. In The Blue House has hosted hundreds of people and most have been very happy. We are a reputable company over 20 years, we accept criticism to continue growing, but not accept unfair and dishonest comments.

Schöne Lage, doch heruntergekommen und verwahrlost

Leider haben wir die letzte Bewertung vom Juni 2013 nicht mehr gelesen, da wir schon vorher gebucht hatten. Doch können wir die negative Beurteilung der Wohnung vollkommen bestätigen. Es war schmutzig, schmutzig, schmutzig. Wir hatten die Wohnung für 7 Personen und eine Woche gebucht. Bevor wir uns etwas zu essen machen konnten, mussten wir das Geschirr und Besteck spülen und die Schubladen auswischen. Im oberen Stock lief der Abfluss im Waschbecken nicht. Wir mussten Haare und Unrat von Jahren entfernen. Alles war schmutzig und zum Teil auch kaputt. Die Kaffemaschine war nicht zu benutzen, da die Kanne fehlte. Der Essplatz reicht bequem nur für 4 Personen, ebenso können auf dem Balkon höchsten 4 Personen sitzen, wobei das Korbsofa für zwei kaputt ist. Die Hälfte der angegebenen Wohnfläche ist nur über eine schmale und steile Wendeltreppe erreichbar und hat durchgehend Dachschräge ohne Ausblick in die Umgebung. Der Verkehrslärm und das Grölen der Nachtschwärmer war vor allem nach vorne heraus unerträglich. Im hinteren Bad war der Warmwasserdruck in der Dusche so gering, dass die Dusche warm nur tröpfelte. Im oberen Appartment gab es kein Oberleintuch oder ein Bezug für die Einzugdecke. Die Duschen konnte man nur mit Badeschuhen betreten, so schmutzig und schimmlig waren sie. Es gab nur zwei Handtücher pro Person und Woche. Auf Nachfrage sagte man uns, wir sollten sie eben waschen. Doch eine Trockenmöglichkeit gab es nicht. Für drei Bäder (7 Personen) gab es nur einen Fön. Man könnte noch mehr Negatives aufzählen. Positiv war die gute Verkehrsanbindung und die Einkaufsmöglichkeit, ebenso der schöne Blick auf den Jachthafen und das Meer. Der Kühlschrank, der Herd und die Mikrowelle waren in Ordnung, Zum Schluss sei noch darauf hingewiesen, dass das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis auf keinen Fall stimmt.

I regret that your stay was not satisfied , but I do not agree to everything you say. 1. A house of 180 m2 is very difficult to have everything perfect, because there are 3 large bathrooms, 1 large kitchen and living room, a terrace, a balcony, lots of windows, 5 rooms, 2 halls .... I always try to be all perfect but sometimes I can lose some detail. It is not true that everything was how you say. The cleaning lady is 6 hours cleaning the apartment. In his welcome to the apartment , I told him that any small problem please call me right away to fix it at the time . You stay in a week no one ever called me . So hard is it to call? The day of the chek out , I asked if it was all right, and you said yes , so good .. no comment .. 2 . The dining table can be extended up to 8 people . You do not know ? 3 . Towels are 2 towels per person. There is a towel service for each extra day . You did not want to wash their towels and not pay extra ? I'm sorry but this is not a hotel 4 . In the kitchen had 2 coffee . He was kept in the armario.Las blankets or bed covers are the mezzanine of the closet. Not found ? And because you did not call me on the phone ? Honestly , I did not understand ... 5 . I think your opinion is not fair, because you did nothing to solve those small problems, and just because you make a rating of the negative. Perfect location to explore Barcelona

The apartement is perfectly located to explore Barcelona and to enjoy the beach! We started our days with a short swim in the sea, the beach being just across the street. The city centre is easily reached by subway or by foot. In the apartment, there was enough space for us 7 adults and it was equipped with all we needed to prepare our meals. The balcony with the sea view was the special highlight of the apartment!

Problème de communication et non respect de la demande

Je serai brève! Odeur HORRIBLE d’égout et d’amoniaque provenant des salles de bains… je me suis dit que cela disparaîtrait après 1j d’utilisation des salle de bain/douche et évier … ça empirait! Finalement j’ai du ajuster ma dure de séjour d’une journée suite à un changement. J’ai prévenu l’hôte plusieurs mois d’avance et m’a dit que je devait payer comptant. J’étais en désaccord mais après j’avais pas envie de m’obstiner donc j’ai accepter. Mon conjoint a fait l’arrivé à l’appartement car jetait à mon travail (raison du voyage) la jeune fille qui a remis les clés n’a rien dit à part déconseillé d’utiliser l’air climatisé. Il n’a donc pas oser lui remettre 400 euros cash en se disant que l’hôte allait venir les chercher… bref j’ai appris à moins de 24h de préavis que je devais déplacer mes deux jeunes enfants et ma belle famille pour la dernière nuit! Mettons l’explication sur un erreur de communication commune entre l’hôte et moi mais tout de même frauduleux de réclamer en argent comptant pour éviter les frais VRBO! D’autant plus que de mon côté j’ai besoin d’un justificatif pour mon entreprise vue que c’était un déplacement professionnel!

Accomodable and big (but aging) apartment in a nice zone

A decaying apartment that shows its age, but well-fitted and big enough for a large family or a group of friends. The host is very nice and answers all questions. The best particularity is the location, close to the beach in a quiet zone (except during sunny week-ends when people come partying under the windows, six stages below). The neighborhood is very well deserved by bus and metro and allows exploration throughout the city. There is a very accomodable subterranean mall in the very same block. All in all, we had a good experience, but below the expected level for the demanded price.

Très bon séjour, à refaire !

L'appartement est très bien situé, le logement est grand et la vue est juste magnifique ! Les métros et bus sont à proximités et permettent de visiter Barcelone tout en logeant plus au calme à la mer. Pas besoin de voiture, tout se fait à pied ou en transport. Le gérant réponds très vite à toutes les questions c'est très appréciable. Le logement mériterait juste un rafraîchissement.

Great time in Barcelona

Our stay in the Blue House was great. It's an excellent location close to the beach, waterfront restaurants, and the casino. For day trips out of the city, a major train station is nearby. The views from the balcony were stunning. If you're an earybird, the sunrises in the morning over the Mediterranean were spectacular! The apartment itself is a great size for a larger family or group given that there are 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. However, only one bedroom has a double bed. The 3 others have single beds (2 per room). My only real negative is that the apartment needs a good cleaning (especially the bathrooms). The building was built during the Barcelona olympics (I believe) and could use some modern upgrades. It wasn't that the apartment was filthy or disgusting. It could just use a really good cleaning.

We had two families for a total of eight people and there was plenty of room for us all. The kids liked being across the street from the beach!

Great place I would definitely stay there again

The Blue House was wonderful. We had a beautiful view of the Mediterranean Sea from the balcony. The website does not do the view justice! There was plenty of room for 7 of us to relax comfortably. The place was nicely equipped. We were a 4-5 minute walk to the metro which we used frequently. Taxis were also easily hailed on the street in front if needed! There is a subterranean mall located in the next building. I would highly recommend this place and would definitely stay there again!!

Excellent location within Barcelona

The property has wonderful views over the Olympic Port and is within easy walking distance of the city centre, beaches and many tourist locations. Five of us stayed for twelve days, including my 92 year old physically disabled father. The apartment is fantastic for disabled visitors. The lift is right outside the front door and the apartment is easy to move around in a wheel chair. My father loved the view. I was going to give the apartment five stars, but I am going to fine Ignacio one star, as on arrival at the apartment he fined us fifty Euros for arriving after 21.00, even though we HAD NOT been told about this in the contract sent before our arrival. This punishment we found to be unfair as we had struggled to get me father onto and off the plane at Gatwick after a near two hour delay that was out of our control. Therefore by the time we arrived at the apartment we were exhausted, to be fined was not the welcome we expected. Additionally I do not think that you would expect to find nine lightbulbs missing, no plug in the kitchen sink, two beds with no bed linen, no clocks working and the hairdryer missing on arrival at a luxury apartment. These should have been checked before our arrival. Overall, the apartment was suitable for our needs but perhaps Ignacio needs to work on his customer care.

Dear Egil Thank you for his stay. Only to clarify that the Contract sent him before his stay because this way it is our regulation. And in him it informs that the arrivals later of 20 hours have an extra. Anyhow I remain that you value The Blue House with maximum punctuation of 5 stars and that for an understood evil it did not value it this way. I wait to return to see! Great stay in this lovely apartment

Our group of 7 people had a fantastic stay in the Blue House. Spacious and comfortable with a spectacular view of the sea from the balcony. The kitchen was fully equipped and there is a large supermarket located in the square at the entrance to the block which is very convenient. The beach is a 3 minute walk away! Ignacio, the host, was very quick to respond to any of our queries and was most accommodating. We would very happily return to this property :) I have stayed in many holiday apartments in Barcelona and this has been my favourite!
