This gorgeous home has some recent renovations, and sits on a large lot size with stunning tropical landscaping. The main level has 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, with an open concept (family room, dining area, kitchen), large lanai, and pool in front (oceanfront) The lower level has its own separate entry and has 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom, family room, and kitchenette. It's located between two of the best known spots in Kona - Magic Sands Beach and Kahaluu Bay.

Having this house for our visit was amazing! The view & pool were the biggest value to our trip. Watching the tang in the waves each morning & hopping in the pool when it got warm added so much to the relaxation to the adventures we had in Kona. Perfect distance away from crowds & close enough to enjoy the community when needed. We would return anytime we get the chance! Mahalo

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Beautiful property with fantastic water front views that can be enjoyed from the living room, dining room, kitchen, master bedroom and outdoor seating areas on lanai and around the pool. Great location close to two different parks/beaches. Great for snorkeling.

Location, location, location!

Great location on Ali’i Drive. The house was what you would expect for a beach rental. Very well stocked. Note- I didn’t recall reading the property was NOT air conditioned. There was a great breeze at night and fans provided, but if that’s important to you, it’s worth mentioning. The waves literally lull you to sleep each night.

Big house with nice pool

House is roomy with large dining and living spaces. Kitchen is very small with outdated appliances and few amenities. The decks are nice and the pool is large and fairly warm for the size without a heater. The views are spectacular and the location is great. The beds needed to be upgraded, but the bathrooms are nice. The downstairs unit required a good airing out and the house became exceptionally warm in the afternoons. Some items needed fixing, but the PM was very responsive. Overall a nice stay.

The house itself was nice except the 3rd bedroom was actually in a separate unit not accessible within the house. It wasn’t an issue for us but could be for some other families. The Knutson rental company in charge of bookings was a let down. We had booked in August and almost 3 months later they charged my credit card for another 200 saying housekeeping had changed. We stayed over Christmas. After arriving and doing 1 and a half loads of laundry the washer broke. I notified Knutson early on Christmas Eve but rather than swapping the washer out with a new one they spent the entire day sending an associate to verify it was broke and we didn’t receive a replacement till that Friday. I asked for clean towels and wash clothes due to the issue but none were delivered. We had a lounge chair at the pool rusted out on the back support and was not usable. They took pictures but never brought a new one so we only had 2 lounge chairs and cheap plastic sitting chairs for the pool. Cheap rugs in kitchen that actually slid under me while cooking causing a fall. We asked for a late check out which they said was sometimes allowed. They said no we had to be out at 11 because new guests were arriving. We didn’t fly out till 10pm so we happened to drive by several times up till 5pm and no housekeeping or guests ever arrived. They asked not to give negative feedback online and to contact them directly with any complaints which I did…..crickets. No reply and it’s been almost a week

First, the layout of the home — including the third bedroom being located in a separate, detached space — is fully disclosed in the listing description and photos prior to booking. We encourage all guests to review this information carefully to ensure the property meets their needs. Regarding the additional housekeeping charge, this was not arbitrary. The fee was applied due to a holiday-period rate adjustment that was communicated in advance and is standard during peak travel periods such as Christmas. When the washing machine malfunctioned on Christmas Eve, we acted promptly under the circumstances. Due to the holiday, immediate appliance replacement was not possible. However, a technician was dispatched the same day to confirm the issue, and a replacement unit was installed at the earliest availability once suppliers reopened. This was not due to inaction but holiday vendor limitations beyond our control. Concerning towels and pool furniture: our team responded on site, documented the concerns, and addressed what was immediately serviceable during the holiday week. Replacement inventory and deliveries were delayed due to holiday closures, which is unfortunately common during this time of year. Safety concerns are always taken seriously, and we appreciate those being brought to our attention. more but at limit for review

Terrible

This place absolutely did not warrant the price we paid. We stayed during a busy time (Christmas/NYE) however, the place was not worth even half the amount we paid. We were charged four times what they usually charge. I can understand charging two or three times more for the busy season, but four times plus the quality of the home, it was absolutely not worth it! The house was not clean, the carpets were old and messy. I would pull dishes out of the cupboard, and they would be dirty. The refrigerator and dryer both have rust on them. The pictures on the listing does not show rust. The most disappointing thing was the pool was not heated. Nowhere on the listing did it say that the pool was not heated. It never got warm enough for us to enjoy (the ocean was warmer than the pool). The pool was also not comfortable, it had no steps to go into the pool. We rented the house to have a pool and we could not use it, very frustrating! The lanai was dirty, yet we could not hose it off because the house rules stated that water would leak into the garage underneath. Also, the owner came by the house and acted like they didn't know it was being rented and then asked if they could come in and look at some ceiling fans. I feel like I was completely taken advantage of by being charged a ridiculous amount of money. Very disappointing!

This is our second year staying in this lovely home. It truly is just the best! The home is well equipped for a family ready for adventure. It’s just perfect for us with our adult children. Everyone had their own space, but the common areas are great for spending time together. The pool is refreshing and you just can’t beat the view. We love to fish, and the shoreline provided ample opportunity for fishing, as well as snorkeling. You have to be a bit brave to get in and out of the water in front of the house because of waves and urchins, but if you want a more gentle entrance and exit into the ocean the public beach is just a few minutes walk down the road. There is no AC but it cools off nicely in the evening if you set up the fans in front of the screen doors. I can’t say enough good things about this home. Wonderful!

We had an amazing stay at 78-6604 Ali‘i Dr, Kailua-Kona. The property description was completely accurate, and the oceanfront location was even more impressive in person. The views were spectacular, with beautiful sunsets every evening and the soothing sound of waves throughout our stay.The home was spacious, comfortable, and well-equipped. The kitchen had everything we needed, and the indoor and outdoor living areas were perfect for relaxing and enjoying the scenery. The private pool overlooking the ocean was a highlight and quickly became our favorite place to unwind.The property was very clean upon arrival and clearly well-maintained. Everything from the furnishings to the appliances and outdoor spaces was in excellent condition. The pool area, lanai, and landscaping were all beautifully cared for.The owner/manager provided excellent customer service. Communication was prompt, professional, and helpful before and during our stay. Check-in and check-out were simple and hassle-free.We would absolutely recommend this property to friends and family.
