Thank you for choosing to stay with us at the Lodge. We are happy we could accommodate your early check in and late check out, but are saddened that the property didn’t live up to our 5 star expectations to you. The kitchenette oven downstairs was deemed not to be a safe idea, so we have chosen to remove it. The listing only mentions the microwave, full size refrigerator and sink. We are now considering adding a hot plate for convenience to future guests. We have also updated our listing to mention the game room may not be suitable for some during the colder months, as there are currently two wall heaters available. But the plugs for them only affect if you want the tv console or the side lamp table on with that particular heater. All other equipment: darts, basketball game, refrigerator, etc… are on the opposite walls and shouldn’t have prevented the use of the heaters. We apologize if this was not the case. Please understand that dual paned windows along with our very cold winters can sometimes cause minuscule openings that allow air in, thus causing a little moisture in between the panels. We acknowledge they may not be perfect, but we hope you could still appreciate the amazing view. Our downstairs suite has baseboard heating and a space heater available, but we understand if you felt they took long to heat up. We do wish the weather would have given you more opportunity to enjoy the outdoors, as our newly added sandy beach would have been fun for your younger family members. Perhaps, you and your family would consider giving us another try in the warmer summer months, as most of your concerns were weather related.

Lisa. We are very sorry that you feel your experience at the Lodge was a less than 5 star stay. Thank you for pointing out the home’s highlights, as our team does our very best to make sure the property has everything we think our guests could need, so we appreciate you mentioning them. And yes, we understand that internet connections in rural areas can be challenging, but we do have the best technology that was available to us and are excited to be offering Starlink to our guests in the very near future.

Thank you for taking the time to share both the positives and the concerns from your stay. We’re happy to hear you enjoyed the spacious gathering areas, multiple patios, game room, well-equipped kitchen, and time spent with your family. We would like to clarify a few points for future guests. The property does have a primary dock for guest use. The floating dock mentioned in your review is an additional "seasonal" dock that would need to be scheduled for removal due for needed repairs. I, at no time said, he would come fix this, as there is not a way to fix it on site, as the screws need to all be dismantled offsite. No tug boat company would be available during your stay and it could not be removed. For that reason, we informed you before and during your stay that it was not to be used. My husband also came immediately to the property to ensure it remained secured and again advised everyone to stay off of it for safety. At no time was it intended for guest use and, this was relayed to you in person and in multiple messages. Regarding the neighboring construction, we understand that unexpected activity can impact a vacation. As soon as you notified us about the portable restroom, we took measures to find the contact information and immediately messaged the neighboring property owner, who had it serviced. We also checked with surrounding neighbors afterward, and they did not report any ongoing odor issues. The hillside leading to the waterfront is indeed steep, as many lake homes are, and we appreciate you mentioning that it may not be suitable for guests with mobility limitations. We strive to accurately represent the property’s terrain so guests can determine if it is the right fit for their group. We appreciate your feedback and are glad your family was able to create special memories together at the home. Also, one thing to note, for your future stays. If you or your guests break things in a rental home it is very important to let the owner or host know upon check out. It is much appreciated when guests do so and also when they respect owners posted rules and check in times and not arrive early. Best wishes you and your family.
