Happy little Pirates

We had a great time here. We all loved the pirate theme, especially the bunkbeds. There was a captains hat in a toy chest, and they took turns wearing it. The property was really nice and clean. It really was perfect for families. The pool and splash pad area were clean, with a safety fence. The playground with pirate ship fort and swings was awesome. Our rental was in front of the playground, so we could send our boys out there and watch through the blinds. The kitchen was well stocked for utensils, plates, bowls, and cookware. I was especially grateful for kid safe plastic dishes. For the master bedroom, I do think the mattress is a bit hard, but that could just be my preference. I did bring some of my own pillows and blankets from home, which I would do again. I might recommend bringing a box fan for just a little more air flow, but did not have a big issue with the temperature. Everything was very clean, with slight exception of the shower mat in guest bath, and dish rack under kitchen sink. But, I believe they just got put away wet, and that started to grow. As well, the dishwasher smelled pretty bad,but it probably just hadn't been run in awhile. I would also bring better toilet paper. I did have to reach out a couple times to Padre Escapes, mostly directions on pool gate and using the key pad, but there was a plug missing in the tub, so I reached out and they were so helpful and kind. The maintenance person texted when he would be arriving and got it fixed in less than an hour. I was really appreciative of their helpfulness. And they took really good care of the property!Smugglers Cove itself is right next to the beach access road, and really close to places for sightseeing and things to do. I hope to stay again in the future, and would absolutely recommend the location and Padre Escapes to friends and family.Thank you for helping make our trip memorable and enjoyable!
