Wonderful home on Beals

Enjoyed our stay. Nice quite home, plenty of room for my group of 6. 4 adults and 2 teenagers. Easy communication with owner who made sure everything about the property was perfect.

We had a great extended weekend stay on Beals! The rental was very clean and comfortable. The view from the living room is amazing. I attached a picture of the sunrise on our last morning. Looking forward to our return next year!

Charming Jonesport

We loved our stay. Our host provided a ton of local information including where to get lobster, where a local beach could be found and even a list of recommended local restaurants. Our rental was clean and cozy stocked with plenty of amenities. I highly recommend this Vrbo!!

Fantastic Family Vaca home

This quintessential Maine home was so cute & maintained. The host was just next door if needed & had the best tips for the area, including how & where to buy lobster & cook them in the equipment he supplied! The island was quiet & beautiful and just a little drive to the sandy beach or town to explore.

Great place to stay!

The property was very comfortable, cozy, and well equipped. It was very close to Great Wass Island which is a beautiful hike and we saw a seal there. Also centrally located between Acadia and Lubec. Phil was very accommodating and gave good recommendations. You didnt even have to get out of bed to see the sunrise! Would definitely stay there again!

As coastal Maine as it gets

We throughly enjoyed our stay in this comfortable and excellent place on a quaint Maine island. Watching the comings and goings of the harbor from any window in the place was very enjoyable. The house itself was very comfortable and clean as well as equipped with everything we needed to enjoy our stay. Phil was great to communicate with and had some good suggestions on things to do and see in the area. We'd definitely stay there again.

We had a great week on Beal’s! Check-in was easy, the kitchen was well-stocked with everything we needed, and the house was light, airy, clean, and perfectly set up for our family. Phil was very helpful and responsive to any questions we had. Beautiful sunrises, nice spot to sit by the water, great walks/hikes nearby, great seafood, friendly community, and far from the tourism and crowds further down the coast—we booked for next year before we even left!

Lobstah country!

A quaint little working village on an island. We had fun exploring the area wih the highlight being spending the day on a working lobster boat, and bringing back a bucket full of lobsters for a feast! Yum! Also enjoyed the Maine Sardine history museum, and hiking on Great Wass Island Preserve. Our host Phil was great! 👍👍👍

Comfy cozy

We took a week out of the Texas heat and hustle to meet some family in Maine. The house is nicely decorated and very cozy. We loved watching the birds at the water's edge. We texted with the owner, who was very friendly and helpful. We brought games and guitars. It was a quiet, restful, remote week, which we needed and enjoyed very much.

A lovely space tucked away from the world

This home isn't for everyone, but it was great for us. Right next to a lobster dock, the home was clean, simple, and comfortable. Rooms were smaller than expected (double beds in all 4), but worked out ok for us. Kitchen well stocked, lobster pot/burner worked great, and enjoyed fire pit every night. View of water is awesome. This isn't fancy and no restaurants or shops nearby, but if that's what you're looking for, this is the place for you!

A Week in Beals

The house was quintessential Maine by the water. Open concept downstairs made it comfortable for all 8 family members. Philip communicated quickly to all of our questions. Beautiful Sandy River Beach is a short 10 minute drive and absolutely beautiful. When the tide is out you can walk to the islands and dig for clams. We bought lobster right off the boat in Beals and cooked it in the back yard. Would come back again.

A great getaway!

We enjoyed the house and island very much. We were 8 family members and the open concept first floor made it so enjoyable to be together and everyone have a comfy place to hang out. Nights were quiet and the house is clean, sun-soaked and accommodating. The host is next door though the only time we saw him was when he was planting geraniums in the pots around the property for the start of the season. Highly enjoyable. Thank you.

True Maine Experience

Phil was a wonderful host and provided great information and options for things to do. The house had excellent views of the harbor and sunrises. We particularly enjoyed watching the lobster boats going in and out. Phil arranged for us to take a trip on a working lobster boat which was an amazing opportunity and we loved it. Like all of the Maine peninsulas we had to drive about 12 miles up the coast to get to Hwy 1 to go anywhere, but that's part of the experience of being in Maine and it's why we like vacationing here - it's secluded and quiet. We highly recommend this property!

Basically, the house was roomy and comfortable. There was a dreadful issue with the water. The day after arrival we purchased drinking water. We also used it for making coffee. Unfortunately, taking a shower and using hot water was out of the question, as the smell of sulfur was so strong it permeated the entire house.

This is by far the worst review we have ever received. I just read it for the first time in January 2025. Once in a great while, not every year, when there has been a gap between guests with a massive downpour; there is a sulfur smell to the hot water. It has never before happened with a guest there and, had we known, it could have been remedied by a quick flushing of the heater. I’m so sorry that this guest’s trip was affected and regret that we didn’t know to rectify it.

Toller entspannter Urlaub in traumhafter Atmosphäre

Das Haus war traumhaft schön und hatte alles was man für einen entspannten Urlaub benötigt. Es ist super gelegen und wir hatten das große Glück ein Feuerwerk in unmittelbarer Nähe unseres Hauses zu sehen. Wir würden jederzeit wieder kommen. Morgens wach zu werden und aus dem Fenster aufs Wasser zu schauen war Entspannung pur. Als kleine Anmerkung: uns haben Schränke für die Aufbewahrung unserer Kleidung gefehlt, bei einem Aufenthalt von mindestens einer Woche ist es nicht so schön aus dem Koffer zu leben. Das jedoch ist nur ein kleiner Punkt sonst war es unbeschreiblich schön.

Great house in an incredible place. Beals provides a rare glimpse into the heritage and true character of coastal Maine, and there's no better place to see it than Phil's property. Having working wharves right out of your windows is pretty incredible to say the least. The house is great and has everything you could need for a great stay, and Phil goes out of his way to make sure of that. If you're trying to experience the peace and beauty of true coastal Maine without the crowds and tourists, this spot is for you.
