The check-in process was easy; the owner was accessible prior to our stay. The property was in a good location. The pool and the yard were very well maintained. There were plenty of amenities (full kitchen, washer/dryer).However, there was a problem with air conditioning that started on day 3 of a 7 day stay. The temperature routinely rose to the mid 80s inside the house. The owner was diligent in contacting different HVAC companies who came over multiple times. The problem was not solved, and I had to spend time on the phone with owner and deal with HVAC technicians frequently during my vacation. I should not have to deal with this. One of the things that was done by one of the owner's contacts was to remove all of the air conditioner filters. The condition of the filters was deplorable. They were heavily soiled and per the owner, had not been changed since January, our stay was in early August, and this was in SW Florida heat. This not only blocked air flow and possible affected the unit but presented a health issue as well. Additionally, the refrigerator water filter was used up (on zero) and not changed. The sliding glass door would not lock and the couch in the living room was broken. Privacy was also an issue as there were no window treatments from the front door to the pool and lanai area. You could see directly from the street through to the pool area. This also contributed to the heat problem. Routine maintenance would go a long way.
