We are located 5.3 miles west of Moody Gardens and Schlitterbahn waterpark, 9 miles from The Strand and 7.6 miles from Pleasure Pier. We have a wonderful secluded neighborhood feel at our home but we are close to everything. Our beach is one of the best in the area, in my opinion and only about 100 yards from our home. It is a very easy walk. We are a short drive to Magic Carpet mini golf, batting cages and Jimmy's on the pier(great place for food, beverages, coffee and fishing on the pier, you get to walk on the pier for free with any purchase). You can relax your day away at the beach, visit local attractions like Pleasure pier, Moody Gardens, historic homes, Pier 21 and watch the movie The Great Storm (eat at Willie G's while you are there. Amazing food! and they can stamp your parking voucher if you have one), walk around The Strand and shop and eat and sightsee. Watch the cruise ships in the terminal, visit the Ocean Star Offshore Drilling Rig and Museum. While in the area visit Katie's Seafood Market for the freshest seafood around. You can rent Kayaks in multiple places, get a fishing charter for the bay or offshore, visit the State park and don't forget birdwatching. If you are looking for a spa visit The San Luis Resort and Spa or The Hotel Galvez spa. You will not be disappointed! There is wonderful shopping in The Strand district and if you want an outlet, Tanger Outlets are only 24 miles away. Nasa Space Center is an easy 35 miles away and if you have little ones The Bayou Wildlife Zoo is 32 miles away. You can ride the tram (i suggest early morning for best feeding and animal interaction but anytime is great!) through 80 acres lasting 30-40 minuets where you see deer, antelope, camels, buffalos and other exotic animals. Bring a picnic and enjoy the outdoors and of course visit the petting zoo. There are so many great restaurants I can't even begin! Kemah Boardwalk is only 30 miles away also. We sleep 14 comfortably, have 2 master suites and an open floor plan for enjoying your time with your loved ones and friends. We are in the best location in my opinion as we are on the west side of the seawall so we have a feeling of privacy and a fabulous non crowded beach 100 yards in front of our home but we are close enough to all the excitement that it is an easy outing to all the local attractions.
