AMAZING PROPERTY - nothing is overstated, it matches the pictures. This is a very nice complex - very quiet, very cool landscape and grounds. Stunning view. It is very comfortable and a great place to hang out. AC worked great. The property management group is OUTSTANDING!!! I will prioritize any stay in Key West to work with this group - they are very responsive. One note of caution - this complex is very strict (which is good) just ensure you know all those details first. There is a more complicated identification and agreement from the HOA that I was not expecting. I ended up scrambling from the airport on the way to finalize ID verification, etc. It's all easy - just do it when you book it - don't wait.

A fine stay, but some listing photos need updating

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The positives (there are many): The unit was clean and had all amenities advertised, including wonderful views of the gardens and ocean. The property mgmt staff were responsive and helpful. Be sure to flip over the envelope with your keys to see the photos guiding you to the correct parking area -- we missed that initially, but staff got us to the right place. Beds and linens were comfortable, and pool towels were appreciated. The negatives: There were a few maintenance/minor repair items we flagged at arrival -- kitchen stove hood and primary bath vent not working, blinds jammed in secondary bedroom, door handle falling off primary bath door. I was surprised staff merely said they'd pass on the info -- no acknowledgement of less-than-optimal condition, but OK. I do hope they repair those items for later guests. The main issue we had was with the huge difference between the "sunning beach" shown in the listing photos and the current conditions. Apparently the property was dealing with an erosion problem (as are most coastal communities), and installed a coral rock revetment (wall) that replaced any dunes or vegetation you see in the "sunning beach" pictures save 2, sad palm trees with roots exposed in the surf zone. The area with chairs (seaward of the pool) is now a flat section of compacted fill behind the wall; not loose sand you can wiggle your toes in, and if you're lounging in a chair, it's tough to see the ocean over the wall. The "beach" and "aerial" photos in the listing showing dunes/vegetation and crossing must either be old (pre-wall construction) or from Smathers Beach? Either way, current photos and/or clear photo captions in the listing would've better managed our expectations and plans for use of the property. Fortunately, the pool and spa area were great, and we made good use of them instead. Overall, we had a fine stay, and would recommend the unit provided the few minor repairs are made.

Outstanding!

This is our third time at this property but the first time in this unit, and it was the best one yet! Beautifully decorated, well appointed kitchen, plenty of towels and the beds were wonderful to sleep in. Plus the view of the Atlantic is stunning. The property management is quick to respond to emails and calls, and super helpful. We absolutely loved our stay and would highly recommend this location and especially this fourth floor unit!

The check in process was not easy, what were the keys even for? Nothing explained the fob or how it was used. Nothing explained where the room was located. You have to figure everything out like a puzzle.The smoke alarm was beeping as soon as we finally figured out how to get into the room. It was Sunday so u had to call the emergency number to get it fixed. The maintenance guy kept explaining that he was busy eating and when he came to fix it he might have been drunk. The WiFi stopped working on the last night and the router was o where to be found. We finally located it when we were leaving. The lock on the master bathroom was falling off and not screwed properly to the door. It was a pricey stay for having so many inconveniences unfortunately

Excellent condo for our long weekend getaway

The condo was exactly as pictured and very clean. The location is great to rent a bike or golf cart and explore the island. We will definitely be back and look forward to staying here again! Great communication and fast to answer any questions.

Let the fun begin!

Place was exactly as listed. They gave us a personal space in the garage for our car with a clicker. Place was clean and gorgeous. This was my second time staying there. Will stay again next year. Lots of room. Towels and linens are plush and everything is super clean. Balcony is huge and view is spectacular. Pool is Olympic size and clean and just the perfect temperature. Can’t wait for next year to come!

Perfect location with great property amenities but condo maintenance not great

PROS: The location was exactly what we were looking for with easy access to Key West whether we were walking or grabbing an Uber. There were so many things to see and do nearby. Each morning, we took in the sunrise while walking to a new coffee shop and then walk some more. Afternoons were spent by the beautiful pool and strip of beach on the ocean. Dinners were back in town and just delicious. The view from our balcony was gorgeous and the patio was large. The condo was spacious. The version surrounding the property felt like a beautiful tropical island. There were plenty of towels in the condo and some starter supplies like dishwashing detergent, laundry detergent, and toilet paper. Check in and check out instructions were clear and concise. The location was perfect. CONS: The actual place was very dated. The furniture was at least 20 years old. The patio furniture was so rusted it would stick to the cement patio floor when you tried to reposition the chairs. The appliances were old and worn. Several burners on the stove top didn’t work. When we were leaving, the instructions asked that we wash the linens - when we started the washer on hot, it smelled like it was burning so we had to turn it off. The water pressure was very low in showers and toilets. Tha mattresses and pillows were soft, lumpy, and seemed inexpensive. It felt like the owner knew they have a great spot in a great location and charge a higher prices for it but not reinvest in the property.

It Was Fine

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Our stay at Latitudes Penthouse in Key West was okay. We enjoyed the ocean view and staying in a place larger than a hotel room since it was for 10 days. The condo was very very clean; the property management company was very helpful and professional. The property just needs some loving attention-- such as none of the sink stoppers worked, peeling paint by shower in master bath ceiling; old tired furniture. The deck chairs were sinking into the deck material a bit. The wireless was on and off every day around 5 pm for a couple hours and it was very hard to get internet access and definitely impossible to stream shows. The vent above the stove did not work and is rusty. The front right burner did not work. The fitness center was very hot. I don't know if it has air conditioning or not. There is a ceiling fan but it was horribly hot in there. Really I think what we were most disappointed about was that this property is marketed to be a "penthouse" which led us to think it would be beautiful and upscale. It wasn't. This was our 30th anniversary celebration so we were disappointed that it was a middle road condo instead of what you would think of a penthouse. Yes, it was the top floor (4th floor) and had an ocean view. But there were a lot of other "penthouses" there as well since the 4th floor was in a U shape. The deck appeared the same size as all the other 4th floor condos. We paid A LOT of points for it through Marriott Homes and Villas (which further made us think it would be very very nice). Nothing was really wrong with the condo, it just felt average. We did not contact the property management company about any of this while we were there. We did not feel as though they would have been able to do anything about it while we were there. We also would stay around Duval Street next time. You will need transportation to get to Old Town staying at this condo.

KEY WEST BREAK

The property's exterior is somewhat dated and entrances and elevators definitely need some attention. The private garage parking was good and added a layer of security. The code box that opens the entrance didnt work but after calling the posted number, security showed up and let us in. The condo was clean and very spacious. Beds,were comfortable, balcony was massive and views were awesome! Large well stocked kitchen. Outside pool and hot tub was really great! I would definitely return to this property!

Short Trip

The location was perfect, a quick Uber ride to anywhere we needed to go. Beautiful view, great pool, very friendly people. The Check in process was tough- there was no info on how to get into the actual building or directions of where to go. We had to call security to give us directions and there was also no directions of where our condo was location (directions or signage of numbers of condos) The unit itself was a little dirty in the bathrooms, a few dead bugs in the pull out couch but that could’ve happened naturally. But the bathroom & kitchen floors were very dirty/not cleaned. Hair, dirt, etc. overall it was a great stay and would definitely stay here again - something to look out for in the cleaning process!

Great spot to relax - I had shew away the doves a bit

Key West Getaway

Overall, this was a great place to stay! The common areas and amenities were great - the pool was fantastic, plenty of chairs and umbrellas. The tennis courts were available to reserve, and the gym was great as well. The beach was too rocky to swim but it is only short walk to a great public beach. The condo community was quiet and a lovely place to stay - it felt more like a resort than a typical condo building! The large patio of the unit was perfect and had a fantastic unobstructed ocean view, one of the reasons that led to us booking this unit. The check-in process was cumbersome. We had to call the property management company twice - we were not aware that the designated parking space was not in the large garage but in a smaller unlabeled individual garage. The unit’s door lock was also not working upon arrival. However, the property management company was quick to respond. Although we had a great stay, we were a little disappointed in the cleanliness of the unit. The shower curtain in the hall bathroom was disgusting with visible mildew growing on it. This unit is in need of some updating, but everything worked well despite its age.

Great balcony, pool area, and beach

Very roomy 2 bed/bath apartment. Top floor with balcony looking out at ocean. Very nice pool with restrooms and a small, but nice beach. Well stocked kitchen. Spacious living room. Only complaint is water heater was set on low, so only one person could shower at a time (otherwise cold water).

Fantastic view of beautiful Key West water!!

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: My husband, three boys and I enjoyed our stay here. The view of the water was gorgeous. We could see the shrimp boats nearly each day. The condo was good also. The kitchen had nearly everything we needed. The living room was comfortable. The pull out couch was huge! That was so helpful with our three boys. Bathrooms were great also. Only downsides were little light in the bedrooms and living room. The bedrooms could use ceiling lights. The connection for cable was in and out also. The location, however, was great for the view and easy to get to anything on Key West by bike, car or walking. Smathers Beach was a quick walk, and Higgs Beach was an easy bike ride. The pool and hot tub at the condo were superb, clean and very large. We all loved those!
