I am incredibly disappointed by this dishonest review. This traveler reached out to us because she was stranded on the island due to cancelled flights. We went out of our way to help, offering further discounts on an already incredible rate, jumping through hoops to bring in extra cleaning staff and management on a moment’s notice just so she’d have a place to stay. It was raining heavily that day, which is why the outdoor cushions were wet—not dirty. It was clearly the weather that caused her frustration at not being able to watch TV from bed, despite the fact that our listing never advertised TVs in every room. You cannot book a home and then get angry that it doesn't have features we never claimed to have. The guest took microscopic, zoomed-in photos of every minor blemish in my family home—the kind you could find in any property that isn't a brand-new build—to try and manufacture a 'condition' issue. These claims are absolute nonsense. My manager was at the house immediately after she left and took time-stamped photos showing a spotless home. The most telling detail? She moved her groceries from her previous accommodation into our fridge a few hours earlier in the day whilst the cleaning staff were still there, then left them there when she 'checked out' 30 minutes after moving in later that day. It is obvious she simply found a flight off the island and manufactured these complaints as a pretext to get her money back. She abandoned the property, left the front door wide open and unlocked, and refused our offers to remedy minor items like the coffee machine. By refusing to officially cancel even after I offered a generous partial refund, she blocked our calendar for the duration of her booking and cost us significant revenue and continued to demand a 100% refund directly and via VRBO. All communication was abrupt and impolite. VRBO support reviewed my photos and evidence and confirmed I was under no obligation to refund a penny because the house was exactly as described. I, regrettably, still issued a partial refund. Hosts, beware: this traveller is a bargain hunter who uses fabrications to fish for refunds.
