We booked this property back on 2/3/24, two months ahead and I reached out to the host on 3/27 asking when we would get the address so we could map out the drive. She responded that we would get it 2 days before. Again that was on 3/27/24. On 4/4/24 we left for the unit and It took us 2.5 hours to get to the rental, arriving a couple hours after check in due to work hours and traffic. I get to the location and the guest service person asked if I received the code to the door. I hadn’t so she instructed me to call the host. I did and she called me back and said oh I cancelled this, the property is already rented on another platform. I was confused because I received nothing prior to being told this. She offered absolutely no apology, I had 6 adults and 2 kids under 3 now stranded with no place to stay and we had tickets for Disney and wanted to stay close to the parks. Her offering was “To be honest, you can book another unit there on another site for way less.” Again no apology AT ALL. And btw we couldn’t get another unit at that property. Just a refund that I didn’t get immediately and had no additional funds to book another hotel. Our vacation was absolutely ruined. Beware she posts her unit on different platforms. I called Vrbo and they noted the cancellation was 2 hours after our check in time, tried to reach out and she didn’t answer the phone and they had to leave a voicemail. Next time I’ll just stay at my usual go to hotel, even if we have to rent two rooms!!!
