This is a great place to stay. Very nice neighborhood. The property was clean, plenty of space and close to everything in DC. Would highly recommend this place if you are planning a DC trip!

Steve’s house was a fantastic find for our group of five. Everyone had their own bedroom and bath. Common areas were great, and the kitchen is equipped with every dish and utensil imaginable. The location is perfect for anyone on a DC visit— easy access to downtown and everything the city offers. Our only regret was that our stay was too short! Hopefully we’ll rectify that on our next visit. Five stars.

Nice VA stay!

My family and I came to VA for a family wedding, and needed a cozy spot for all 5 of us. This spot was perfect, the adults were all hpstairs and our adult kids were able to have their own space downstairs, TV and all. The house was very clean, then snacks and water were perfect (our plane was delayed) for our late arrival. The owner was fantastic in working with me and VRBO to add a night. Would definately book again if we find ourselves in VA again!

This house worked out great for our family’s visit to DC. It is nicely updated. Was very clean. Comfortable mattresses. Kitchen stocked with what we needed (we only ate breakfast there). Some nice amenities, including some snacks and waters and a fan in every bedroom. Plenty of room for us to spread out. Owner was responsive when we had a question.

Comfortable and cozy stay for family of 5!

We were so pleased with the lovely home, especially for relaxing after a day of touring around DC. The two bedrooms on the lower level are comfy and have their own bathrooms and sitting area. The upstairs bedrooms had all we needed as well, each with own bathroom. We drove to the metro stop and parked but found easier to just Uber to Metro. Thank you to our host!

Great place!

Super cute house! Fit all of us for our weekend stay! Parking was available right in front of house, which is such a huge thing when staying so close to the city! Easy in and out, super clean! All info available when you walk in the door! Extra blankets and pillows available in every room! The large shower in the basement was fantastic!!

Attention to detail was outstanding. Beautiful & charming residence with easy access to DC & outer areas. The kitchen, bedrooms, living room & TV room make it an ideal place for a family or small group of 5-7. Outside deck during the warmer months is a huge plus! Go for it, this is a best kept secret.

5 day Wash DC trip

We wanted to be close to DC and in particular the Arlington Cemetary. We were a group of 6 adults (2 couples and 2 singles), and this fit our needs nicely with 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. The kitchen was well appointed, however we didn’t cook there. We went during the end of the Cherry Blossom Festival, and it was a 15 min drive to Arlington Cemetary and 20 min to the Mall in traffic. The owner communicated regularly and we had a great time.

Top-notch rental! Immaculately clean and well-equipped!

The Cozy Shanty house exceeded our expectations! We traveled to the DC area with another family for a quick two-night trip to do some sightseeing in the city. The house was a perfect distance to drive into DC and other surrounding attractions. The three adults slept comfortably on the main level, while the four teens had their own space downstairs. The house was immaculately clean and exceptionally well-equipped. Attention to detail was top-notch. Thanks again, Steve!

Family trip

The property is in a cul-de-sac location with plenty of sidewalks and nearby trail for walking. We had no problems with the street parking directly in front of the house. Lots of food options nearby including grocery stores. Great location and price if you are going to Arlington cemetery or DC tours(15-20 min drive). The house was clean and nicely decorated. The updated bathrooms were very nice and had shampoo, conditioner and body wash. Plenty of items on the kitchen to cook with and nice gas stove. We had 7 adults and it was plenty of room and great to have 3 full bathrooms. The owner, Steve, was easy to communicate with through the App.

Wedding weekend

We stayed for a quick trip to attend a wedding. The property is on a cul de sac with parking for a car or two in front which is nice. There are steps that are fairly steep to go down to the house. This was not an issue for our family, but something to be aware of if there are special needs for anyone. Has all the basic amenities needed and as stated, it is in an easy location to go site seeing as well. There is a nice wrap around porch. They could use some outdoor furniture to enjoy it. I feel it was a good value for what we were looking for. The owner was friendly, helpful and accommodating.
