Our family getaway
Our check-in was easy. We received the information a couple days before the trip.Settling in was easy. Light switches and kitchen cabinets are labeled to make finding things easy. There was a little book with household info and suggestions for places to eat and shop.My mom said the tempurpedic mattresses offered her the best home away from home sleep she’s ever had.The upstairs AC was on the fritz and did go out. Thankfully, there’s two AC units in the house. We carried twin mattresses downstairs and “camped out” in the living room the last two nights. The hostess replied quickly any time I messaged. She refunded a night’s fee. The AC was not able to be repaired while we were there, but that’s not for the homeowner not trying. The neighborhood was quiet and peaceful. A spacious backyard was great for morning coffee or cornhole with the kids.We had 7 adults stay in the home. We had 2 other adult family members visit with 5 kids our first full day and never felt crowded. My two elementary aged nephews spent the night with us twice. They enjoyed a couple movies from the collection of DVDs. My brother did have a house on Topsail, so we spent many days there. We didn’t find the 20 minutes of travel to be an issue. Without a home, we would’ve needed three hotel rooms. Being able to stay together and spend more time with family was our goal. This house gave us that opportunity. We’re grateful.
