Modern Wooded Getaway By The Beach

Unwind and re-connect in this modern and spacious getaway home. Tucked away in the woods and less than a mile from the beaches of Lake Michigan, our home is your escape. If you're looking for an opportunity to relax and catch your breath-find it here. Wake up to beautiful deer just outside your window, or take a bike ride to the shore for the day. This space has become a sanctuary for us to re-connect with nature and one another, and we look forward to hosting you!
The space
Our home has been a place to re-charge and serve as a tranquil "getaway" to re-connect with each other, family/friends, and nature. This space is perfect for couples, solo trips, and family vacations. If you're looking for a home to host a party, however, this is not it. We believe strongly in creating a welcoming and inclusive space for others to breathe a bit deeper and designed our home with that in mind. The location is secluded yet close to everything you need. Outlet Shopping, restaurants, wineries, and breweries are all within a 10 minute drive. If you’d like to enjoy a live college football game, Notre Dame is just 40 minutes away.

You'll find large picture windows in nearly every room where you can expect to be greeted by the sun each morning (and occasionally by a family of deer in the back yard). Relax on the cozy screened in porch that is warmed with string lights as you overlook the fire pit. But if you're in the mood to wind down indoors, we have two TVs (upstairs and downstairs) ready for you to enjoy your favorite streaming services or show off your skills with the Nintendo Switch.

The home is two-stories with brand new appliances, stacked washer/dryer and everything you need in the kitchen for cooking a gourmet meal. Each room is equipped with split air-conditioning/heat units to customize your temperature needs.

SLEEPING-THREE BEDROOMS/FOUR TOTAL BEDS

Upstairs Beds (2)
Two large upstairs bedrooms each with a specialized desk space, vaulted ceilings, and natural light through picture windows. One bedroom features a King canopy bed and the other a Queen bed. These bedrooms share an oversized bathroom.

Downstairs Beds (2)
On the main level, is a large bedroom with two Queen size beds. This room has its own bathroom featuring a full size glass shower.

BATHROOMS
Who doesn't love a rainfall shower? Both bathrooms feature a rainfall shower, with the upstairs bathroom also including a deep soaking tub to help you relax. Both bathrooms include hair dryers, shampoo, conditioner, body wash and extra products to make you feel at home.

LIVING ROOM
The downstairs living room is designed with intention and detail to ensure you have the best view no matter where you sit. Enjoy some of our favorite vinyls on the record player while you settle in on the couch for board games. Or entertain a bit with the Nintendo Switch (games available for the whole family) while whipping up a quick meal in the kitchen. The sliding glass doors will take you to the cozy screened in porch to enjoy your coffee/tea and leads you to the nature preserve in our backyard.

KITCHEN
Our open-concept kitchen has everything you need to whip up a meal or organize your take out boxes from one of our favorite local restaurants nearby. :) Equipped with brand new Samsung and Whirlpool appliances, Keurig Coffee, and everything else you need.

UPSTAIRS MEDIA LOUNGE
Journey upstairs and you'll find our absolute favorite part of the house: the couch. Enjoy the comfy couch and chaise while watching your favorite Netflix series on our 65 inch flat screen TV. With the trees just outside the window, you'll feel like you are in your very own movie theater tree house.

STEP OUTSIDE
Step outside the sliding glass doors to experience the beauty of the nature preserve that borders our property. Enjoy a quiet dinner at the picnic table or roast some marshmallows over the fire pit.
We also provide two vintage bicycles to borrow for your ride to the beach. Beach towels and a beach bag are also all available.
Guest access
You'll have access to the full home and yard.
Other things to note
--We love our neighbors and respect everyone's need for quiet. Quiet time begins at 11pm.

-- Safety: We have an open slat staircase as well as cleaning supplies stored in cabinets and closets-please supervise all children.

-- No Pets: We love our fury friends but no pets are allowed.

-- No Smoking: This is a non-smoking home. Please do not smoke inside the home or on the patio areas. If you smoke outside, please dispose of all butts in the appropriate way.

-- There are train tracks near the neighborhood with an Amtrak that passes through on occasion with minimal noise.

-- ADA Compliancy: Unfortunately this home is not ADA compliant due to the landscaping and stairs-it is not meant for someone in a wheelchair.


HEALTH PROTOCOLS
We comply with all COVID-19 cleaning and disinfecting protocols to ensure safety during your stay. The home is cleaned and sanitized before each guest arrives and you'll find hand sanitizer available throughout the house. Please remove your shoes upon entering. If you or anyone in the reservation becomes sick, or comes in contact with anyone with COVID before or during your stay please message us immediately! Please reach out and cancel if you become sick before your arrival.
