The unique and magnificent design of Villa Xanadu St Lucia was inspired by the famous domed City of pleasure called Xanadu created by the Mongol ruler Kubla Khan in China during the 12th century. Standing proudly on a sea facing hillside for many years it is still as fresh and interesting today and has recently undergone an extensive renovation whilst preserving the character of this tasteful and fascinating study in concrete and stonework engineering. The domes of the villa dominate the hillside on St Luciaâs northern tip in the exclusive residential area of the old sugar plantation of Cap Estate.
In good visibility the nearby larger Island of Martinique is clearly seen to the north and this makes an impressive backdrop to the Caribbean sea view both during the day and at night.
The high south west facing terraces of Villa Xanadu St Lucia provide beautiful views of nearby Pigeon Island and St Luciaâs Caribbean coastline and and is the perfect place to enjoy a sundowner while watching the setting sun. These Caribbean sunsets are famous for their beauty and you may even witness the elusive green flash when the sky is clear. The Villa is surrounded by nearly two acres of gardens that slope gently away from the house and are home to coconut palms and tropical plants.
Nearby is St Luciaâs Golf Resort and Country Club. This is a challenging and enjoyable 18 hole par 71 golf course.
There are nearby beautiful white sand beaches catering for all manner of water sports including safe swimming and snorkeling, scuba diving, hobby cat sailing, water skiing, para gliding and wind surfing.
Sports fishing and deep sea fishing enthusiasts will soon find what they want.
When the present owners bought Villa Xanadu St Lucia for them it was love at first sight. They were captivated by the elevated position and the 270 degree views of the ocean and coastline. The gentle sea breezes temper the tropical heat and make relaxing by the poolside a real pleasure. The pool extends into the domed living area and has its own bar stools in the water to enjoy that rum punch or local fruit juice.

The owners, Laurel and Tom, reside in Toronto, Canada when they are unable to be in St. Lucia. Heâs Canadian, she originally from California. They first visited St. Lucia in the 1980âs, and have been back more than twenty times since. In fact, whenever they vacationed in other Caribbean islands, they invariably said âWe should have gone back to St. Lucia. It is so beautiful, and the people so lovely!â St. Lucia has become their second home, and their Happy Place!

When Tom and Laurel decided to buy a home in paradise, and searched the market, Xanadu just blew them away. Itâs unique domed design and spectacular panoramic views of the ocean, the coastline, and the neighbouring island of Martinique sold them on how truly special it was. It was an OMG moment. Tom says it was âLove at first sight, just like the first time I met Laurel!â

Close to beautiful beaches, the Rodney Bay Yacht Club and the Golf Club, guests can be as active, or as lazy, as they like. The domed living/dining room, and spectacular indoor/outdoor pool is worthy of Coleridgeâs famous poem: âIn Xanadu, did Kubla Khan a stately pleasure dome decreeâ.
For it is a true pleasure to take in the sunshine with the breezes on the large pool deck, to enjoy meals by the pool or indoors, to savour the abundant coconut palms and tropical plants.
Laurel and Tom invite discerning guests to relax for a spell in Paradise, to enjoy the warm St. Lucian welcome, and to share their beautiful island home!
For it is a true pleasure to take in the sunshine with the breezes on the large pool deck, to enjoy meals by the pool or indoors, to savour the abundant coconut palms and tropical plants.
