Our family had a wonderful stay at this beautiful home! We will definitely be back. Chip and Mary Beth were wonderful hosts providing us with every amenity needed to make us feel we were right at home. The home was extremely clean and beautifully decorated. The juke box and pool table were a huge hit with the family. Time spent at the pool was so fun along with the beautiful views we enjoyed poolside. The home was a few minutes from downtown which made it so convenient to everything. You cannot go wrong choosing this home as your vacation destination!

We had an amazing stay! So much to do at the house that even when the weather turned cold we had a blast. Pool table, cards, video games, tvs everywhere, kayaks, fishing poles (caught 4), a warm pool, and a very safe walkable neighborhood. If we had any questions Chip was quick to respond and always there if we needed anything. I cannot say enough good things about our stay, thanks for making our stay wonderful.

Excellent home with a gorgeous location

The home was a wonderful place to relax after all day fishing. We loved the pool table, juke box and breakfast by the pool overlooking the canal. The rooms were well appointed and very comfortable. I would definitely recommend this place for a relaxed vacation stay.

Wonderful Memory

This was an awesome place to stay near our family in that area so we didn't have to impose on them in their house. The game room was so fun and the amount of bedrooms were perfect. The view was beautiful in the back and we made use of their kayaks which was fun. There were so many good memories that occurred in this house and we appreciate them sharing their home with us.

Spring Break Success!

Coming from the very northeast corner of Indiana we were anxious to enjoy some warm weather. The pool was warm and fabulous. Loved watching the activity in the canal. Another hit was the juke box with an awesome array of music selections. This was the perfect setting for us 4 adults and 3 teens. Highly recommend.

Punta Gorda Luxury

The Toland's have created an incredible vacation home. Clean, comfy and very well appointed, this home provides everything needed for instant relaxation. The heated pool was wonderful any time of day, but especially great for an evening swim under the stars. When not swimming, the bar and game room is a great spot to hang out. The Toland's are exceptional hosts, rapidly responding to all of our questions. We will definitely stay here again the next time we visit Punta Gorda!

Family Vacation

Our family vacation to Chip and Mary Beth’s beautiful home in mid January was wonderful. Great weather, local attractions and activities plus many fine choices for meals made Punta Gorda an ideal visit. The 4 bedrooms easily accommodated our group. The game room was an excellent place to hang out at night and the back patio was where we enjoyed our breakfast and lunch each day. I would suggest getting a non slip mat for the step down shower as some of our party slipped getting in when it was wet. Overall a great home to stay and relax and enjoy southwest Florida 😁

Piece of paradise

Amazing house with a great location on a corner lot on the canal. We were lucky to see some dolphins! The pool was very clean and had plenty of seating and 2 tables for outside dining. Pool table and juke box in the bar area isn't something you usually get in a rental. The house has split bedrooms on either side of the house which would make it perfect for couples or families. The owners were very responsive in responding to any questions we had. We'll definitely be back!

This is a very nice home. A few things that concerned us is that it's a home that is used by the owners and then rented out. Due to the expensive instruments and wine bottles, not very kid-friendly. Also, unheated pool, to cold to use in winter months. Overall, we had a good time..

Of course we use the house, it’s our second home, and we use it when it’s not booked. You said on your booking details that 4 adults would be staying. No mention of children.

Fantastic Get-Away!

Wonderful! Chip & Mary Beth were the ultimate hosts. Every detail was perfect. Beautiful property with so many amenities that made our family/friend vacation memorable. Fishing and kayaking in the backyard kept our outdoorsmen entertained. The refreshing pool kept our teenage girls busy. Special highlight was the game room, which includes a jukebox, billiards table and arcade games...which gave our teenage boys lots to do during downtime. Communication was EXCELLENT! Any questions we had were answered right away. Recommendations for restaurants/beaches were given upon request. Couldn't ask for better hosts! A definite "must stay"!

Swimming, Sunshine, and Tunes

We had 2 families with teenagers stay for spring Break. At first all of the notes that said not for guest use on the liquor bottles and guitars felt a bit daunting. It didn’t take long to figure out what we could and couldn’t use. The furniture and guitars could use a good dusting but that’s a super minor detail as I’m positive my own house needs the same. The gorgeous FL sunshine just makes it show up more. We had an awesome time swimming, playing pool, and listening to the fun jukebox tunes. Chip and Mary Beth were the most attentive hosts we’ve ever rented from. Quickly answered questions at check in and touched base midweek to make sure we were doing good. Definitely makes a difference to rent from someone who is sharing their home.

A wonderful find!

Having “lost”our place of stay due to the hurricane, we feel blessed to have found Winward! Great location and a beautiful property! Comfy beds and bedding! My family of adults loved loved the pool table, the juke box and the arcade video game. The guys had a great time fishing and catching several fish from the 2 kayaks and the shore. We did rent a boat and it was easy to tie to the deck while we prepared to go out. Really appreciated the two coolers available at the house. Chip was very quick to answer any questions. Being their first renter was quite the honor. You will all enjoy the nice new remodeling, a brand new toaster and we tossed in a can opener as a little house warming. Would surely stay here again!

First VRBO guests! Couldn’t be happier! Debbie and family treated our home like it was their own. We had to hustle to get it ready after Hurricane Ian roared directly over the house! We were very fortunate, much much worse just 30 miles south. Hope our guests will visit again in the future, always welcome!

Tropical waterfront home

We had a wonderful time at this property. The space was nice to enjoy and the property owner was very responsive to our needs. Our only concerns were the cushions on the patio. Some were pretty mildew covered - but we are hoping it’s only because of being early in the spring season. The use of the kayaks, pool towels, laundry soap and shower items being supplied was nice to not have to pack. The pool was too cold to get in, but the weather wasn’t the best. The property notes a tub, but we were unable to utilize with no stopper. Beds are very comfortable and the added amenities of the pool table, juke box and the overall welcoming vibe was enjoyable for a relaxing week. The kitchenware was nice and appreciated as we ate at the property most every meal. Based upon our experience - We would return.

The purpose of a review on the VRBO website, is not for the home owner, (you had already conveyed to ME, that you noticed some spots of mold on the back porch cushions) the negative comments are meant for all readers considering a stay at our home. All homes directly on the water are susceptible to this type of exposure. Your concerns about the cushions were addressed immediately and the issue has already been eliminated. My question is why you felt it necessary to include this in a 5 star review? On another point, stating the pool was too cold for you, is quite subjective. The $10,000 spent 2 months ago on a brand new pool heater, that keeps the water at 88 degrees, works perfectly. Perhaps you were expecting a hot tub? (Next year!) These types of complaints can unnecessarily dissuade people considering a stay. Maybe, you should have included the fact that prior to your arrival, you canceled your booking, then after the rate increased on your dates, I graciously reinstated the old rate so you could rebook, or perhaps that after you arrived the first morning, you requested a special type of coffee maker, and a coffee grinder to which I purchased and had delivered to the house within an hour! Our VRBO home is well maintained, extremely well appointed, very clean and a cut above the rest!

Absolutely AMAZING!!!

Check in was a breeze. Chip and Mary Beth were very responsive if we needed anything or had any questions. The property is on a big lot. We saw dolphins and stingrays from the sea wall. Great fishing off the dock if you know the tide schedule. The house was beautiful inside and outside even after the hurricane. It is well taken care of. Our family played pool, listened to the juke box that has all the classics. The rooms are good sized and the master is very spacious with its own bathroom with double sinks and a shower. Two of the rooms have sliding patio doors out to the screened in porch overlooking the pool and canal. There was plenty of bedding, linens, and beach towels. We swam in the pool, took the kayaks out on the canals and fished. Wildlife is abundant right from the sun porch. They had everything we needed to cook dinners and we even grilled fish we caught on our charter. We went to Boca Grande Beach, North jetty Beach, Venice Beach… all which were within an hour drive. We took a sunset cruise at King Fisher Fleets down at Fisherman’s Village which is a 5-10 minute drive from the property. Definitely going to come again with my family because the hospitality and town are wonderful! So much to do here!!!
