This house is in a great location in a beautiful neighborhood. We were close to restaraunts grocery stores, attractions etc. The hosts were very accommodating and were very helpful when we had any questions or issues (a minor one with the pool which was resolved in a timely manor). The house had everything we needed and the king bed was so comfortable! My favorite thing about the house was relaxing by the pool and watching the boats go by in the canal. We will definitely be back!

An ideal location to get away! At the end of a street on a waterway gave to peaceful evenings and mornings with the views you expect from Florida, and still minutes away from all the offerings of Punta Gorda. Excellent access from the property to the Peace River. The hosts are attentive, accommodating, and resourceful!

Waterside comfort

All the facilities are great, the kitchen and en-suite bathroom seem newly fitted out and nicely contemporary. The king size bed was sooo comfortable it was hard to leave!

We had such a wonderful stay here. Jim & Linda were so helpful throughout our 3 week stay. The location was amazing….our first day we were greeted by a dolphin playing in the lagoon! The weather was just perfect……a much needed break from our cold northeast winter.

Great Location

We enjoyed our stay. The view from the home is unbeatable. The kitchen was very well appointed. High end oven, microwave, and dishwasher. Owners were very available.

Great Location and everything we needed

Linda met us and introduced us to the property. Everything was exactly as portrayed in the listing. We loved the house, the lanai and pool were perfect for our stay. Very comfortable bed as was all the furniture in the house. We will definitely try to come back again. The location was so close to everything. Restaurants in Punta Gorda excellent. Owners responded to us immediately with any questions and were nearby if we needed anything.

Great house!

The house was very clean and had everything we needed. We spent most of our time at the pool and fishing off the dock. We caught several different types of fish. Plenty of supplies for our stay and a nicely stocked kitchen. We will happily stay there again!

Peaceful Getaway

My husband and I enjoyed a peaceful four nights at this Punta Gorda property. We spent most of our time lounging by the pool and fishing off the dock. Linda met us upon arrival, gave us a tour and answered our questions. She was very helpful and welcoming. Everything was just as expected from pictures and description. We would definitely stay here again!

Great property

A waterfront home with a long wide water view and easy access to the harbor. Comfortable, well maintained, clean and beautiful inside and out. Linda and her husband are lovely and kind people. You can't go wrong renting this home.

Amazing host and home

We loved this house. It had everything we needed and then some. Fishing poles, bikes, beach chairs. The house was clean and well appointed. The host met us and showed us around and was so kind. You will not be disappointed. Stay here!

Very comfortable, with everything we needed

We felt right at home here, and found everything to be just as advertised. The beds were very comfortable and the four of us had more than enough room. The kitchen was well-equipped enough that we were able to pull together a full Xmas dinner with turkey and stuffing and all the fixings! Linda and Jim were very responsive and helpful; a real pleasure to deal with.

Staying at Jim and Linda's

Property was as described, kitchen appliances were all top notch. Pool was very clean, as was the rest of the house. No problems. Communication with Jim and Linda from the booking process throughout the stay was exceptional. Highly recommended. My son and I rented a boat, and fished from the Peace River to the ICW along Boca Grande. Put 40 fish in the boat over 5 days. Used the house to cook breakfast and lunch, and dock the boat at.

Excellent Stay!

We stayed at the Rio Plato Home before and absolutely enjoyed everything about it, especially how well we were treated by the owners, Jim & Linda. It was an easy decision to go back for this vacation and would highly recommend this home to anyone looking for a relaxing time with all the amenities. The Rio Plato is situated perfectly for enjoying a beautiful view of the canal while relaxing by the pool. Everything in the home is clean and well appointed. The owners take great pride in their rentals and it shows from the time you walk through the door until you leave. This home is in a cul-de-sac located in a very affluent and safe neighborhood. It is within a very short drive to anything you need, and Fisherman’s Village, which is an awesome place to visit. Punta Gorda itself is incredibly beautiful and the Isles where this home is located make this setting even more breathtaking. You will not be disappointed if you are looking for one of the greatest vacation experiences you can find, it truly is a gem. We are grateful that to have found wonderful people in Jim & Linda to make sure our stay is always first class! Jeff R. Pennsylvania

Location is everything.

The rental is in a nice neighborhood and location. The location is very convenient. The house is older and feels chopped up. There are 2 sides to the house. The "master" side was separate from the other side of the house. The AC never seemed to work as well as the other side of the house. A little put off that I had to pay for additional guests (2 more) even though I rented the whole house and our party was normal at 5 adults. Only enough plate settings for 4. Don't bother with the kayaks-not sure why they cost extra-they were very old and sized for children not adult men. We enjoyed our stay and the property manager gave a very very thorough briefing. House could use some updating.

This is a split floor plan house with a central area with family room and kitchen. The house also offers a large living room area which is ideal if someone needs a quiet space. This split layout is desirable by most people. The House is EXACTLY as Pictured in the listing. Kayaks are NOT child size they are adult size and are also pictured in the listing. We have 2 sets of china in the house so there is actually settings for 8 people. (Simple solution open cabinets and find dishes) All of our fees are stated in the listing. Unfortunately sometimes people do not read the listing . Prior to payment all guests are informed of the rental rate and any fees. There is a 19.00/night charge for additional adults (if there are over 2 adults) staying at the house. We do have 2 AC units at this house which are in perfect working order. We tell all guests to contact us if there are any problems with the house or if they need anything during their stay and we will remedy immediately or as quickly as possible.

Lovely water views

This property met most all of our needs, but could use some updates. Property manager was very friendly however had many “rules”. Not that we needed it, but don’t use the fireplace, don’t use disposal, don’t use kayaks in garage, don’t walk on seawall, don’t jump in pool. We signed a waiver of liability which should have covered all that. We asked if the ice maker worked and were told “I think so”, it did not. Ice trays were available but not enough to make enough ice for our family. There was a koureg but not a traditional coffee pot which is less ideal for a large group and our “older parents”. Dishwasher needs replacing And the can opener did not work at all. We paid to have the pool heated, but it was not actually heated warm enough to enjoy until the last day. The house was very spacious and comfortable . Overall we had a great experience.

Upon check in we instruct all guests to contact us during their stay if they have any issues/problems. A quick phone call would have remedied the can opener. ( we have replaced it). Pool heating is optional. Dec and Jan winter temps in Florida typically dip into the 50's,40's and 30's. Pool temp varies according to the weather. This guest checked in right during a cold front. We checked the pool heater for them 2x. Both times read 84 degrees while heater was running. When the heater is not running it will display the air temp.We cannot control mother nature. I have contacted this guest 2x to find out what the problem was the dishwasher and they have not responded. We have run the dishwasher and the ice maker and both are in working order. We believe this may have been user error. Yes we do have rules for the property as the safety of our guests is our main priority. This property is a direct waterfront, has a seawall, docks and a pool so particular rules apply to these areas.

Wonderful Location!

The property is situated on a corner of the inland waterway system and gives fantastic views of boats passing, fish jumping and even a dolphin one day! It is brilliantly situated for a meal out in Town. The Tiki Bar is great! Well laid out, the property is comfortable and has a great lanai area by the pool, you can sit out at any time of day or late evening. The description of the property is reasonably accurate. Perhaps a little updating to decoration is about due. Electrical appliances are reasonably new and the villa is cleaned to a fair standard. The TV system could do with a set of instructions and a list of channels available (Free movies etc) would be useful. A telephone for local calls would be an advantage, many homes we have stayed in over the years have had a "trust" box next to them to cover costs. The master bedroom and bathroom are really comfortable, there were only two of us, so more than adequate. A few more plates in the cupboards in the kitchen/ dining area would have been nice, I would not have had to use the dishwasher every day! The cutlery went through the dishwasher before I would use it. During our visit, we saw the pool lady on one occasion, she spent about 5 minutes testing the water, poured in some chemicals and left. I cleaned the pool out myself! Didn't see a First Aid Kit, I may have missed it. I think we are being more than fair when saying that this is a good property with many things to recommend it to both couples and families and we would certainly bear it in mind should we return to Punta Gorda. I hope the things, however small, will be taken as constructive rather than criticism and would have no hesitation in recommending this villa to anyone. Easy to find, local to everywhere, Linda has a home from home for most! A small word of warning! Went to Harpoon Harrys at Fishermens Village, really not nice, and Laishleys Crab House, way over-priced, neither particularly clean!!

Dear David and Sandra, I am glad you enjoyed your stay. I highly recommend all travelers have a working cell phone. Unfortunately land lines are practically extinct. All of your questions ,etc could have been quickly remedied with a simple phone call.TV has movie channels, HBO and compatible for Roku etc,2 sets china (island and cupboard) First aid in bathroom.
