Playa Grandes beste Strandlage befindet sich im Nationalpark Las Baulas und nur wenige Schritte von Costa Ricas schönstem Strand entfernt. Das Tamarindo Wildlife Refuge, 4 ausgezeichnete Restaurants, ein Minimarkt und das Wassertaxi nach Tamarindo sind zu Fuß erreichbar. Playa Grande ist der Hauptniststrand für die vom Aussterben bedrohte Lederschildkröte.

Dieses tropische Refugium ist ein traditionelles costaricanisches Strandhaus im spanischen Kolonialstil mit zwei Schlafzimmern und französischen Türen und Fenstern im Frank Lloyd Wright-Stil. Die süße, klassische Casa ist kunstvoll eingerichtet und sehr komfortabel, sauber, ruhig und entspannend. Jedes der klimatisierten Schlafzimmer hat ein eigenes Badezimmer. Die Kingsize-Betten sind mit luxuriösen Federbetten und Bettdecken mit frischen Bettdecken ausgestattet. Alle Leinen sind ausgezeichnete, Qualitätsbaumwolle. Die Küche und das Wohnzimmer sind geräumig und luftig, mit hohen Decken, schönen Harthölzern und vielen sonnenverwöhnten Fenstern.

Die große überdachte Terrasse / Veranda ist klassisch gefliest und perfekt zum Entspannen und Essen. Es blickt auf einen privaten Pool, der von den Einheimischen als "der sexiest Pool in Playa Grande" bezeichnet wurde. Das Anwesen ist vollständig von einem natürlichen tropischen Trockenwald umgeben, der ein privates Paradies für Gäste und die vielen exotischen Vögel, Schmetterlinge und andere Flora und Fauna bietet, die diese gemütliche Casita ihre Heimat nennen.

Hidden Gem is just what is posted. A nice house with an oasis outside! The bed gave us best sleeps we have had in a while. Access to beautiful beach 2.5 minutes walking. Enjoyed the option of pool and or beach! Host responded quickly to any questions. Loved the monkeys and birds near the house! Will go back!

This property is walkable to a gorgeous beach and quick water taxi away from Tamarindo. There are some decent restaurants in PG you can walk or bike to. The property is very sweet, traditional colonial Tico casita. The furnishings are very nice, some beautiful original artwork. The kitchen was fine with the basics. AC was a gift as it was very hot out. The pool is fun and refreshing. The hosts were excellent in communication and answering questions. They were prompt to address a plumbing issue for us. The bathrooms are lovely and the water temp and pressure excellent. The neighborhood has alot of construction on-going, which is not very relaxing during the day hours, but it is also the case everywhere in Costa Rica right now. We really enjoyed our stay.

Excellent House in Palm Beach Estates

Clean house with all the amenities needed. The beds were extremely comfortable and the air conditioning worked great. We loved spending the afternoons cooling off in the pool and the outdoor table for eating and family time. The outdoor fans were also a nice touch! We highly recommend this house.

Perfect location, perfect hosts!

This is the third time we have stayed in Palm Beach Estates, but the first time at this location. The pool was spectacular, and we had everything we needed. Any questions or concerns were quickly responded to. To top it off, we were welcomed with beer and wine chilling in the fridge after our long travel day! Couldn’t be better!

The bungalow is a 2-minute walk from the beach, and the area is safe; our teens walked by themselves to the beach, shops, and restaurants. The house is typical Costa Rican and has all the conveniences needed. Mike was responsive and helpful throughout the week.

We really enjoyed our visit. Location was awesome, walked on the beach every morning and evening….beautiful fairly secluded beach. Loved the pool and outside patio area…truly lived out there. A nice overhang off the house if you wanted to get out of the sun. Lots of good restaurants cafes within walking distance!The beds were super comfortable.if you wanted to spend any time in the living room couches were very uncomfortable. Grill was charcoal and you have to provide your own charcoal. There were no spices in the kitchen. We appreciated the beer and wine in the fridge. We would definitely stay here again!

Beautiful home!

We had traveled all over Costa Rica tbe first week and was so excited to have this relaxing week at this wonderful house. It is also a great location for exploring too. The pool was fantastic. Loved hearing the howler monkeys in the morning and evening. Easy walk to the mostly deserted feeling beach. Fun to watch the surfers and sunsets. Easy walk to a small grocery snd several restaurants. All very safe and beautiful area. Great outdoor area and bedrooms were very comfortable too. Woukd love to go back.

Best Vacation Ever!!

This was our first trip to Costa Rica and the Sexy Pool was the perfect place as a base camp. Great house, pool and neighborhood. Playa Grande is an amazing beach and this comes from someone who lives in So Cal and goes to Hawaii and Mexico. Do the estuary, use Byron at the Greatful Hotel, he is hilarious. Enjoy the pool and the beach. You can skip Tamarindo unless you like tourist traps. Bring dollars because it is hard to get to ATMs once you are in Playa Grande.

Perfect Oasis

Awesome place to hang and experience Playa Grande. Very cool and private retreat. Pura Vida! If you're looking for crowds, high rise condos, and tacky souvenir shops, go to Tamarindo. If you want to get away and see what Guanacaste is really like, stay at Mike's place. Great surfing, beach, restaurants, pool, exploring. We had a truly memorable trip, we'll treasure for always. We just returned from our second stay at this beautiful casita. It was an excellent stay and we will return. Playa Grande is one of the most beautiful, uncrowded beaches we've visited. We appreciated the location of this house even more this visit. It's a quick walk to the beach but just far enough down from the beach access path that we didn't have lots of parked cars in front of the house or foot traffic, like houses right by the path deal with. The yard is so serene and beautiful and all the gorgeous foliage makes so much shade that the temperature seems to drop by 10 degrees as soon as you enter the gate, a welcomed respite from the beach where shade is scarce.We just love the pool and the yard and the casita has everything we need for our family of four. Mike lives a short drive away and is extremely responsive and available if you need help with anything. That peace of mind made our stress-free vacation even more relaxing.Our 10 year old did a surf lesson with Surf Camp down the road and it was a very good experience. We ate at all our favorites again, including Pots and Bowls and Rip Jack. All excellent. You just can't go wrong booking a stay here!

Great anniversary trip.

We really enjoyed our first trip to Costa Rica and staying in this home. We were looking for a relaxing time, not wanting to do much but lay on the beach and hang out by the pool. There are tons of shells on the beach if you like that sort of thing. This location and home were perfect for both. The house was very comfortable and the pool was perfect when we wanted to escape the heat, but didn't want to go in the ocean. Mike even helped me arrange for a special anniversary surprise for my wife when we first arrived at the house. We didn't have any issues and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. I would recommend to anyone wanting to be close to the beach and still wanting plenty of privacy.

Amazing House

Two couples stayed here to celebrate 40th birthdays for a week. This was the perfect home base. Not to far from hiking, horseback riding, great restaurants, surfing and so much more. The community is calm and quiet and the people are wonderful. The house was clean and exactly as advertised. There is construction going on next door but it was shockingly quiet. We woke up with the howler monkeys in the morning and enjoyed watching the babies play. We watched the sunset each evening. I miss it already! We will be back!

Work in paradise! Sunsets to die for!

My husband and I, plus our 7 year old son, stayed here for a week and had the absolute best time. We were able to work online during the day and takes breaks to utilize the amazing pool or even do a quick walk to the beach. Each evening, we'd walk down to the ocean and watch the beautiful sunset, with a few surfers.. but the beach was never very busy. The water is perfect for kids to learn to boogie board or beginner surf! We saw lots of wildlife including monkeys, lizards, crabs, live sandollars, hermet crabs, sea snails, etc. My son was excited to just walk around the yard looking for lizards! Lots of dinner options within walking distance too! Overall, the property was clean, comfortable, and just perfect for the 3 of us. We'd stay there again in a heartbeat. We were two adults. Nice neighborhood with houses and crushed gravel/dirt roads. Great local floral landscaping and fauna in yard. Birds, monkeys. Pool a far greater asset than we anticipated. Easy walking distance to beach. Slower paced than Tamarindo. Easy walk and boat taxi to Tamarindo. Large beach. National Park. Two small surf shops, one small market and several restaurants nearby. I was there to surf but there is far more to do. Very warm daytime temps. Uncrowded beach. Some home remodeling or construction in neighborhood. A little hard to find first time in. Give it a go; you'll like it.

Exceeded Expectations

My husband, kids (11 & 9) and I had a great time. The house was PERFECT for the four of us. It was exactly like the pictures except the pool, patio, and yard is even better in person. It was one of the prettiest residential pools I've seen and it was always spotless. You could always find a shaded place to relax and enjoy the serene landscaping and wildlife. We saw birds, lizards, giant moths, butterflies, squirrels, and monkeys. We walked to Cafe Mar Azul for dinner and breakfast and drove to Pots and Bowls (3 times!) and Rip Jack's. All excellent. Beach access was fast and simple. The house is 4 houses down from the access path. It doesn't get much more convenient than that. Waves were great for the boys to surf, boogie board and body surf. Bring mosquito repellant. an umbrella (if green season) and a headlamp or strong flashlight for walking back at night from one of the several restaurants nearby. Mike is a gracious host and extremely responsive. We look forward to returning.

wonderful time

The property really suited our needs. We were 2 couples so the 2 bedrooms with king beds and ensuites were perfect for us. The airconditioning in each room was very welcome and worked well.The rest of the house inside was adequate but it didn't really matter as we spent all our time on the outdoor covered patio overlooking the pool which was amazing. The location was great only a few minutes walk to the beach and some good local restaurants. Our only complaint was the outdoor gardens which had amazing flora and fauna could use some help i.e. weeding, raking, a better irrigation system and some regular gardening maintenance. I think a weekly gardener would make a big difference here and guests would probably be happy to pay a gardening fee to bring this property back to pristine condition. We found this lack of maintenace a bit strange as the pool was pristine and Mike cleaned it every morning at 5a.m. making sure it was very inviting for us each day. Other than the lack of garden maintenance we loved it and had a great time.
