Worst stay I've ever had in a VRBO property

When we first arrived, my first thought was the neighborhood was transitioning. The front of the property, the empty lot next to it, and the streets were piled with trash and litter. We entered the property and the apartment is at the top of a steep set of stairs that look like they never get swept or cleaned. When we entered the property, it was filthy as the maids didn't show up to clean after the last guests left. We messaged Yancy who responded immediately and the cleaners were there within half an hour. He promised to give us a discount on our cleaning fee for our inconvenience but you guessed it, that never happened. After they cleaners left, the apartment was pretty clean. There is a roach motel next to the washing machine but I chose to ignore that. The bed in the first bedroom is on a metal bed frame that creaks every time you move. It is only one mattress. The bathroom is small and the shower is the smallest shower you will ever use. It is very uncomfortable. You can't turn around in the shower without touching the shower curtain or the walls and getting the floors wet. But all of that was forgiveable until the next night. We came back from dinner at about 8 pm. The first floor was having what appeared to be a party. None of my business, right? WRONG. It was a nightclub! And you could hear the music and conversation in the apartment just like you were there. I had to put on headphones to try to lessen the noise. It went on until 3AM. You have been warned.

located in one of the highest crime areas of the city.

How do I know? Because the other tenants in this 3rd story walk up, the ones below us on the 2nd floor, became incredibly aggressive towards us after we knocked on the floor at 2am when they were having a loud party for the 2nd night in a row. We ended up calling the police after 1 of them kept trying to push into our unit & yelling & cussing thru the door, even after the officer was on site. We filed a police report and reported the location to VRBO. You do not have to believe me, google crime in Philly near n10th & spring gardenI did this after we fled & the officer told us we had no business being in that neighborhood, it is one of the highest crime rates in the city & no place for tourists. I've used vrbo across the globe. We used to have a condo we rented out using them. I've never had such an experience, ever. In or out of vrbo. I've never felt so unsafe somewhere that I have to flee at 3am because one of the downstairs tenants was so aggressive in the middle of the night it took two of us to push him out of the condo and lock the door. He continued banging on the door and cussing at us. We got out and were fine, though still shaken. I'm not sure I'll ever use vrbo again since they have not helped us with a refund nor did they warn us of where we were staying before it was booked. Please research area first. Someones going to get hurt

Nice, clean, and spacious

The apartment was clean and all the amenities mentioned were available for use. Yancy, the host was very accommodating and responded to any messages promptly. The property is located close to downtown bars, restaurants, and shopping. There is no parking but it was easy to find street parking close to the unit. It was a nice stay and i would recommend booking this property.

Spring Break 2023

My husband, 2 teenage daughters and I spent 4 days in Philly over Spring Break and had an excellent time. Yancy’s apartment served us well! We walked to the art museum area, Reading Terminal, and Independence Hall. It was super convenient. Walking in the neighborhood was fine during the day, but we took Uber/Lyft in the evening. Street parking was a bit of a challenge the evening we arrived, but we were able to move our car closer the next morning. We also enjoyed movie night and the NCAA tournament on the huge projection TV 😁. Check in and out were super smooth!

I have no complaints about my stay. It was clean, in an area close to everything that we needed for the weekend. I recommend this place for anyone that's visiting Philadelphia.
