We wanted to love this property (& offered to share concerns privately).PROS: beautiful home, clean, great location, quality appliances, quiet street, ample living/sleeping space, decent water pressure, fairly accessible ground floor, responsive owners. 3 A/C units, which is unusual for Maine but appreciated.CONS: There's 1 door into the house & the stairs are all set at different heights. There's also NO HANDRAIL. My 83yo MIL struggled a lot. The porch light wasn't on when we arrived after midnight; easily fixed with a motion-sensor light. In combination with the terrible stairs and lack of rail, it was dangerous. The king bed US is literally 36 in high. I could barely get in, thanks to the next issue: there are no stepstools in the house. There are also no unbreakable dishes, and pulling glassware off a very high shelf in the kitchen was also dangerous. Not kid friendly to use either. There is nowhere to sit in the bedrooms, which made getting dressed needlessly hard. Two rooms have a closet but no drawers; the third room US has drawers but no access to a closet. If you're going to do this, at least provide suitcase stands, otherwise your guests' clothes are on the floor. The bunk room does NOT have an AC unit - not a deal-breaker in Maine, but there need to be FANS. Also, tell guests it's a Keurig or leave Kcups - that first morning was rough, lol. There were other odd choices that made us think the owners aren't fully understanding their guests' needs & experience.
