Awesome week

Had a wonderful week, beautiful views. Condo was a little smaller than expected and parking is extremely tight. Overall we enjoyed our stay.

Great visit. Perfect dwelling for us… closer to the ocean than the pics suggest which was a nice surprise! Beach access was super easy even though we couldn’t swim due to Hurricane Erin off-shore. No major issues or feedback aside from the “starter” toilet paper that’s provided is razor thin and barely usable and we couldn’t find any tongs. The parking slot under the unit was also too narrow for our Chevy Traverse so we used a nearby guest spot. But everything else was as advertised and we would recommend this property to our friends!

Condo Needs Some Attention

We were a family group - myself, my sister (in our 50's), adult son, adult daughter and two toddlers. POSITIVESThe condo had a nice layout and the beds were comfortable. The nautical decor is whimsical and cozy. We loved the outdoor furniture on the deck for watching the ocean. The fridge is large and nice. Check in was easy. The condo is right on the beach. NEGATIVESThe kitchen is not very well equipped compared to other rentals we have stayed in: No wine bottle opener/corkscrew (seriously?)No lids to fit the large pansCutting board had mildew stainsCoffee maker didn't work (they replaced it by the afternoon)Broken can openerCommon utensils like tongs were lacking When we arrived the trash can was overflowing and swarming with flies. We had to park next to it so every time we loaded in the car, we had flies hopping along for the ride. Maybe invest in a large commercial dumpster if you're going to rent out your condo? The ground was disgusting around the trashcan. A lamp in the bedroom with exposed wires shocked my son when he plugged it into the outlet & burned his hand. The outdoor pool is very small and warm.The beach was somewhat rocky and the erosion is so bad that it's difficult to make your way from the water to a sitting area. I wouldn't recommend this place and probably would never stay here again. A note for management/owners:It’s confusing regarding contact about issues. Do I message the owner? Carolina Retreats? VRBO?

It’s always great to know when those aspects of a home meet expectations. That said, I want to sincerely apologize for the issues you experienced. From the missing and broken kitchen items to the trash area condition and the safety concern with the lamp, these are not the standards we strive to maintain. I’m especially sorry to hear about your son’s experience with the exposed wiring — safety is our top priority, and we’ll be addressing that immediately.
