The Keys Compound, located on the bay with its own beach and deep-water dockage in the Florida Keys city of Tavernier, Florida (MM 92.5), is a unique 2.5 acre vacation rental property for families or larger groups looking for a private oasis. From the moment you enter the gates and lush tropical landscape of The Keys Compound you will not want to leave. watch our video tour of the property by clicking through the photos. The Keys Compound has three 2 bedroom cottages and one 5 bedroom house which are immaculately maintained and offer the classic “keys feeling” of simplicity while providing a five-star level of comfort that makes the experience at The Keys Compound authentic, super relaxing, private and fun. The listing you are reviewing now is for our three cottages, but you can also rent the five bedroom Ellis House as well and have the entire property for just your group. The new swimming pool and backyard redesign completed January 2024. The beach for the Cottages and the Ellis house is shared similar to a hotel. Please view our three different rental packages below. Purchased in 2020 by a family that owns several high-end vacation rental properties, The Keys Compound was completely renovated with new furniture, beds, roofs, impact windows, painting, and landscaping.

The Keys Compound property is 2.5 acres with155 feet of private beach front which can sleep up to 34 guests in four different cottages totaling 11 bedrooms, 11.5 bathrooms, 4 full kitchens each with outdoor Weber BBQ grills and deep-water dockage for boats up to 45 feet. Our goal is to create a private experience for our guests, so we offer the following three rental options (please see our description of each cottage, photos and video):

THE RATES AND AVAILABILITY ON THIS LISTING ARE FOR OPTION 1 DESCRIBED BELOW WHICH IS THE RENTAL OF THREE COTTAGES. PLEASE LET US KNOW IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN OPTION 2 WHICH IS THE RENTAL OF THE ELLIS HOUSE OR OPTION 3 DESCRIBED BELOW WHICH IS ALL FOUR HOMES. The common areas of the the property such as the beach and the dock are shared by all guests.

Option 1: Rent the 3 cottages named “BEACH”, “TIKI PALM”, and “ISLAND BREEZE”. These 3 cottages have a total of six bedrooms six baths and sleep up to 20 guest.

Option 2: Rent the new ELLIS House which has five bedrooms / 5.5 bathrooms and sleeps up to 16 guest. Option 2 is the same price as Option 1.

Option 3: Rent all four homes described in Option 1 & 2 which provides exclusivity of the entire property. The Option 3 price is usually double the price of option 1 or 2.

A property manager is on call 24 hours to immediately address any of your concerns.

“Island Breeze Cottage 2”: Two Bedroom/ Two Bath (Approximately 700 sq feet) that sleeps up to 6 guests:

“Ellis House”: Five-bedroom / 5.5 bath two-level home completed in 2019 (approximately 3,200 Sqft) that sleeps up to 16 guests:

MORE INFORMATION:

The Keys Compound is located in the northern section of the Florida Keys between Key Largo and Islamorada (69 miles from Miami Airport), a 5 minute boat ride to Tavernier creek for ocean access, kayaks and paddle boards available at our beach, snorkel and swim from our beach (lots of fish under our dock), jet ski or small boat launch ramp on property (jet skiing or water skiing in the gigantic and usually calm bay water behind the property is super fun), best sunset in Florida Keys, located close to the best restaurants in Key largo and Islamorada, and great location to host weddings, corporate retreats or other private events. We have recommendations for restaurant reservations, boat rentals, fishing or snorkeling trips, and other local excursions. (There is an additional event fee depending on the size and type of event. The pictures did not do this place justice! It was the most beautiful tropical oasis, the cottages were spacious, and it was well stocked with many items and activities! We had a brief issue with the water heater in one of the cottages and the host was extremely prompt in responding and had it fixed within hours. I would 10/10 recommend this place - we didn’t want to leave!! Thank you so much for such a great stay!

You never need to leave!

Really great location and set up. With the three cottages you can all spend time together but still have your own space when needed. Outside of groceries we bought in town upon arrival the cottages have everything you need. Well stocked kitchen etc .We rented a boat for the week that we kept moored up on the private dock and went fishing every day. The pool is wonderful and kept clean. Nice private beach and tiki hut is a great place to chill out after a fun day on the water. Check in and check out was a breeze. Kelly is very responsive and made some recommendations for us during our stay but we had everything we needed on property. Very relaxing week.Definitely coming back if Kelly will have us

We had a wonderful stay at the cottages — it was perfect for our large group (3 families). We brought our boat that was conveniently right out back and the kids enjoyed fishing off the dock. After boating, we loved sitting at the tables by the pool to enjoy dinner and snacks with the gorgeous views. The kitchen was stocked and the beds were comfortable, even the pull out beds for the kids were comfortable as well. They provided plenty of sheets and beach towels as well. It had everything we were looking for and made our trip unforgettable. We look forward to coming back!

What a gorgeous spot! Three individual cottages, all with their own distinct personality-your very own self-contained resort! The Beach Cottage, closest to the water, is the largest and most elegant. There are two distinct living areas, the smaller one in the back, ideal to get away from the larger one in front where the real action happens. In the front is a fully-furnished kitchen and dining table, and a living room that faces out to the water with unbelievable views. You walk out those doors onto a spacious, protected patio area by the pool. Walk a little further onto the dock where you view absolutely spectacular sunsets and maybe some of your party enjoying the provided kayaks and paddle boards. Behind the Beach Cottage is Island Breeze, the smallest of the cottages with two separate doors leading into two bedrooms, one with two queen beds, and the other with a king bed, a sofa, and a small kitchen area. The third, Tiki Cottage, is the furthest back, located on the far side of the pickleball court. This is the coziest of the cottages, with a nice living area and bar, dining table, a separate fully equipped kitchen, and two bedrooms. Our family of 17, all ages, loved every moment of this special place.

Wedding Bliss

We decided to have our daughter’s wedding on the property. It was absolutely gorgeous and everything aligned perfectly. Allowing 30 guests to be able to stay on the property made for beautiful memories. With so many amenities (2 pools, hot tub, tennis courts, dock, corn hold and more), we really didn’t need to leave. Reunion compound

The three cottages on the property offered all the amenities that our group wanted. The back cottage is located close to HWY 1 with much traffic noise all night long. The second bedroom in that cottage does not have much room and the bathroom is not much bigger than a closet. The WiFi did not reach this cottage as the cable had been cut by the contractor installing the pickleball courts.The new pickleball courts were a great addition to the property and we really appreciated the attention the property manager provided us during our stay.For a reunion weekend, the property was perfect and would recommend it to any large group.

Family reunion

We rented the entire compound of three cottages and the main house. The property was perfect for our purpose, which was to support a complete family reunion of my descendants that we do every few years. It has a little something for everybody, regardless of weather, which was colder than normal for our stay. The only area of concern for us was that the master bedroom in the main house was upstairs requiring us to climb and descend stairs multiple times, daily. I am 89 years old and my wife is 79 but the stairs proved to not be a problem due to the very sturdy handrails and the good lighting. Plus, the main kitchen for us was upstairs in the main house so that was very handy for us and our kinfolk.All in all, it was a pleasant adventure that I will definitely consider repeating.

12 guys used this property as a home base for a weekend fishing trip. It's a great "home base" if guiding out of Key Largo, Islamorada, or Tavernier. Even has a dock if you can convince your captain to pick you up at the property. Everything about this place was phenomenal.

Simply wonderful!!

We had a large family group of over 20 ranging in age from 2 to 83 and everyone had an amazing time. The property is a tropical pardise and is absolutely beautiful. The sunsets are spectacular and even the sunrises created a beautiful pink hued sky to admire. The bay was like glass all week, perfect for kayaking, paddleboarding, and snorkeling. Adults and children alike enjoyed fishing right off the dock. And make sure you look in the rocks beneath the dock for the nurse sharks. Lets not forget the refreshing pools and hot tub. There are plenty of outdoor and indoor spaces to gather, to eat, to laugh, or play games. As well as plenty of area to retreat to for quiet, peaceful reflection, reading, or napping. As for the cottages and the Ellis house, they fit our group perfectly. The owners thought of everything and were quick to respond to questions when asked. The Keys Compound is in a perfect location for visiting any of the other Keys. Would absolutely stay here again!

Memorial Day in the Keys

Our group consisted of four couples, two children under two, and grandma to watch the children. We stayed in the cottages, which had more than enough room for our group. The cottages were clean and any amenities you may need. The outdoor space was absolutely amazing. The pool, patio furniture, and play areas were immaculate. We also had a 25 foot center console, that was kept on property at their dock. It was easy to navigate in and out. Not to be overlooked, the property is on the bay side, so you will have the most gorgeous sunsets with unobstructed views.

Florida Key Wedding

I cannot say enough good things about our stay at this Vrbo property in the Florida Keys! From the moment we arrived, we were blown away by the host's thoughtfulness and attention to detail. Not only is the house itself absolutely stunning, but it's also clear that the host has thought of everything to make their guests' stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. One of the highlights of our stay was the backyard and all that it had to offer. Everyone was able to keep themselves busy in some way whether that was kayaking, paddle boarding, swimming, laying out in the sun, or even playing cornhole! Not to mention that the property itself made for an amazing location to host a small wedding. It made for a perfect beachside wedding. Our guests had nothing but compliments and appreciation towards the property and the entire wedding coming together beautifully. Thank you to Kelly and Greg for an amazing stay!

Newly Renovated & Amazingly Beautiful Property with numerous amenities for guests to enjoy! Spectacular sunsets are experienced from the cottages pool & tiki hut! Boat dock a plus whether you bring your own or rent from marina (Anchors Away) up the street. Experienced a couple issues but, property managers were quick to respond and send help. We would return and recommend for sure!!!

As Florida residents our entire lives, our families would always visit the Florida keys and we have amazing memories. We always wanted to have a Florida Keys property but it was difficult to find one that offered privacy, beachfront on the gulf side with deep water dockage, acreage, and ability to host great events. In the beginning of Covid we randomly saw a for sale sign for this property that we never knew existed. Upon entering the property for the first time it created a special feeling that we had never experienced in the Florida Keys and realized that it had the potential to be an amazing vacation rental destination and venue for weddings and other special events.

If you have ever been to the Florida Keys, then you know that beaches are rare and most houses are located one of top of the next. The Keys Compound offers privacy and space that is hard to find in the Keys. The Keys offers homes on the Atlantic Ocean and Gulf of Mexico. The Gulf Side sunsets in the Keys are legendary and many visitors to our property claim that our unobstructed views offers one of the best sunset they have ever seen. The Florida keys does not offer much beach front property so our property is very rare in that we have beach front and and sandy bay bottom with a private lagoon type setup for swimming and hanging out in the water. The water is always warm year round!!! Our four cottages allow multiple families and friends to be together, yet seek privacy when needed. The property has been completely renovated and updated to make for a super clean and comfortable experience. Paddle board, kayak or take your boat out straight from the backyard. Our dock is a fish sanctuary and you will see hundreds of fish swimming around constantly. You may even see a manatee or dolphin swim by every now and then. All of the best restaurants are close to our property and we have a Dairy Queen across he street which is great if you like blizzards!!! Its hard to keep the kids away from Dairy Queen every night! Our property managers are great and they will work with you to create the vacation experience you dream of. We look forward to hosting you and earning a five star review.
