Renovated Island Cottage on OIB with views of Jinx Creek, 4 min walk to beach

Come stay at our newly renovated Island Cottage. The property is well equipped for your stay: 4 bedrooms, 2 baths and 3 amazing decks to either sunbath on or watch the sunset while the kids play. Located just a short 4 minute Walk to beach it’s an ideal location to escape normal life. The property is located on Duneside drive on Ocean Isle beach, it’s on a tidal canal property with plenty of wild life to watch while drinking your morning coffee.

The property is a true cottage with around 1200 square feet inside and 3 amazing decks a floating dock to launch canoes or paddle boards and more. We provide 2 adult kayaks, 2 childrens kayaks all with vests, as well as 8 beach chairs, multiples umbrellas and a wagon to help carry it to the sand.

The property is supplied with all basic linens and bath towels. We start you out with a toilet paper, paper towels as well as dishwasher tablets and soap but it will not last your whole trip and therefore our guests need to plan accordingly.

We have 2 coffee makers: a Nespresso Vertuo complete with a milk frother. We provide a few pods to get you started but more pods can be purchased at target or Walmart, we also provide a drip coffee maker if you prefer to make your own. If you prefer not to drink coffee we also have an electric kettle for your tea or any other warm drink you choose.

Great house

We had a fantastic week at the beach. House was immaculate, very nicely decorated and a short walk to the beach. They had plenty of beach chairs, umbrellas and a wagon to transport. I would highly recommend.

I’ve stayed in over 50 homes on the island and this home was perfect by far!! It is beautifully decorated and provides everything you need. When I say the home is spotless, I mean it!! The walk to the beach is only a few minutes and surrounding neighbors are welcoming. We were welcomed with a special gift to enjoy at sunset….so awesome!! We will definitely make this home our choice for all future visits!! You cannot match the excellent Host!! Thank you!!

This house on a back canal is clean, comfortable and recently updated. We had a great stay and enjoyed kayaking (launchable from private dock during high tide) and all of the outdoor hang-out spots (3 levels of decks a ground-level seating area). The decks are a great place to enjoy the sunset on Jinx Creek.Some additional information about the property is the new public beach access (that is not on Google maps as of 8/2025) that makes for a straight shot down the street and onto the beach.

Enjoyed a great week at OIB. The house was updated throughout and clean. There was enough room for our family of four and there is enough space for a few more. The kitchen had everything we needed. Beds and furniture were newer and comfortable. The location was great - kids were able to enjoy fishing during high tide (though they didn't have great luck). Having beach chairs was a huge help.

Amazing rental!

The house is just as it shows in the pictures! The host was a pleasure to work with, she was very accommodating and answered any questions we had. It’s a very clean and beautiful property with access to the canal and it’s very close to the beach. We definitely enjoyed our stay and would definitely rent this house again!

Perfect Getaway

We enjoyed our trip to OIB during Spring Break and found the house, location and communication with Meagen to be top notch! The house has a beautiful aesthetic with amazing views and everything you might need for a break away from the norm. The location is direct to the beach in a beautiful section of OIB. We loved it and our teenage girls got the best pictures as well :)

Stunning and Funning!

Wonderful Cozy, Canal Cottage

We loved our stay at this wonderful cozy, canal cottage. It is well appointed and beautifully furnished. Our kids loved fishing off the dock while we sipped our coffee on the decks. Beach access is a quick 4 minute-straight shot made easy by the wagon the owners provided. Love OIB and hope to stay again in the future!

Family OIB Getaway

We really enjoyed our stay at this property! The home is very cute, comfortable, and has been updated to maximize function as well as attractiveness. We especially appreciated that there were multiple spots planned for dining as well as outdoor relaxation. The house is walking distance to shop/ice cream/mini golf, has easy access to the beach, and was a perfect location for launching our fishing kayaks. We recommend!

We were at OIB to attend a family wedding. Needed a place close to wedding events. This was perfect and met all our needs. Love the updates/decor, layout and accommodations. Bikes and kayaks were great to have access to! Communication with host was also great. Definitely a gem!!

Wonderful family beach vacation!

This was our 5th summer in OIB and we enjoyed this cottage so much and highly recommend! It's on a very quiet street and only a 4-minute walk to the beach. There are so many special touches which made it so welcoming for my family of 7. Everything is updated and the beds were extremely comfortable. We really enjoyed the outdoor patio on the second floor, especially seeing the sunset out there. It was so convenient that Meagan has a storage with all kinds of beach gear (e.g. wagon, umbrellas, chairs, kayaks). We look forward to staying here again!

The Cousins

The house was perfect for our party of 8. We enjoyed breakfast on the sunny deck and then a short walk to the beach for a morning stroll. Plenty of bikes, beach chairs and a wagon were provided. We all gathered around the wonderful kitchen to prepare meals. Everything we needed was there. Our favorite place to relax was gathering for evening cocktails on the upper deck. We would highly recommend staying at 31 Duneside Dr!

Fantastic

Our family loved our stay at the cottage. The home was exactly as advertised, nicely updated and well appointed. I was a bit worried about the proximity to the beach with our small children, but there is a beach access with dedicated golf cart parking nearby that worked out great. The porch was perfect for enjoying a morning coffee or sunset over Jinx creek, with the family. The only complaint is the spiral staircase leading up to the sun porch was dangerous for our toddlers. We had to get creative trying to block off access. Definitely enjoyed our stay and would recommend.

Exactly As Described

This was our first experience with a vacation rental that didn’t include a rental office. We followed all our friends advise on the do’s and don’t’s in our research, and still I was concerned about the process. I now can say that it was great. Everything was exactly as described and the house manager, Meagan, was easy to contact to ask questions. The cottage was decorated with lots comfortable furnishings making it a very relaxing place to hang out after a day at the beach. It was so nice not having to bring all the linens with us, and the quality of the towels and sheets provided was that of a top rated hotel. Overall our stay at the cottage was very enjoyable and a place we would easily recommend to our friends and family.

Great beach get away!

Our family of 5 adults and one child had a fabulous vacation at the house. It's such a short walk to the beach and also so enjoyable to relax on the decks and dock at the house. Our only (and very major) complaint is that the house was barely stocked with very basic staples. We assumed (incorrectly) that there were extra rolls of toilet paper and paper towels. Upon contacting the property manager we were told they "can't provide everything for your stay". Also that "it clearly states in the listing all items that are provided". I've rented many places over many years and have never NOT been provided essentials such as tp, paper towels, garbage bags! I've never seen a listing that said to bring your own toilet paper! After all, how much do a few rolls of tp cost? Especially with all the fees and charges added to the high season cost of renting the house. This was such shame because everything else about the house was wonderful.
