About the home
"Fireside Retreat" is a modern family home in Cowes, close to the restaurants, cafes, and supermarkets of central Cowes. Some of the many features of this lovely home are detailed below:
Indoor Areas
The large open-plan kitchen (with walk-in pantry) sits between the two main living zones, one of which is a fireplace nook with modern comfortable couches near the fire (coonara wood-heater), and the other zone is the larger main living area (with a 65" smart TV & a DVD player). The Master bedroom has a huge WIR and en-suite (with double vanity, shower & toilet). There is another separate living area (with 65" smart TV & DVD player) leads to the other three bedrooms (each with BIR), the main bathroom (with double vanity, bath & shower), and a separate toilet. The separate laundry provides access to the large deck.
Outdoor Areas
The huge partially covered rear deck (8m x 6m) features a gas BBQ and an extendable table that seats 8-12, and overlooks the fully enclosed yard with a fabulous fire pit area (some wood provided to get you started). There is parking for up to 4 vehicles (cars and/or a boat) across the double Carport and behind a separate set of gates (which is big enough for a boat), with additional parking available in the driveway.
The North Shore Estate Reserve playground is just a short walk away and features slides, swings, monkey bars and outdoor picnic tables, along with space to run around and ball games.
Kitchen
The fully appointed kitchen is equipped with standard cooking utensils, an air fryer, crockery, cutlery, a microwave, a toaster, a kettle, an Aldi pod coffee machine, etc., plus a double sink, a walk-in butler's pantry, a large fridge, a dishwasher, an electric oven, and a cooktop.
Heating/Cooling Systems
There is a wall-mounted reverse cycle air conditioner in the main living room, all of the bedrooms have ceiling fans, and there is a Coonara wood heater (with some wood provided to get you started) in the main living room. Each bedroom is also equipped with an electric oil heater.
Bedding Configuration
This home has 9 beds, accommodating up to 12 guests:
Bedroom 1: 1 x King
Bedroom 2: 2 x sets of King Single Bunks
Bedroom 3: 1 x Tri-bunk
Bedroom 4: 1 x Tri-bunk
Note: The Tri-bunks each have 1 x Queen on the bottom and 1 x King Single on the top
Linen
It is common in the region for some linen to be provided for bookings, and some linen to be available as an optional extra. By default, a booking at this home does not include optional linen (top & bottom sheets, bath towels and pillowcases). What is included are doonas (quilts) with covers, pillows without covers, tea towels, hand towels and bathmats. If you would like the optional linen included in your booking, please let us know, including which beds you would like it provided for. The additional cost would be a one-off charge of $30 per bed (some sites add a service fee to these costs) - and we prefer 7 days' notice prior to your arrival to get that arranged.
Peak Periods
Please note that during the peak summer period and other peak times, check in times are set as 3pm (unless by prior arrangement). Please also note that if you avail of the optional linen hire over these times, it may involve linen being left out but beds not being made up.
Functions, Celebrations and Schoolies
Please note that the home is not suitable for celebrations, parties, or large events. The home also does not take bookings over Schoolies. All bookings are subject to approval, pending the guest verification processâlocal council restrictions are in place for this property, and compliance is mandatory.
