Oh boy, my first bad review. Let’s dig in. First, let me say I’m so sorry you had a bad time. It’s disappointing when people don’t enjoy themselves, no matter whose fault that is. I will do more to make sure people know how to use the AC and hot plate but I can assure you that they both work. I can also assure you that all bedding and linens were washed. It seems to me that you saw a “water bug” as we call them on the island and your woes ran from there. Anyone who knows Hatteras knows that these bugs are prevalent here and are hard to avoid. Also I want anyone one reading this to know that I do regular pest control. I feel that half a refund was more than fair as a) there’s only so much I can do about someone seeing a bug b) you left before expressing any of your concerns to me. I could have shown you how to work the induction hot plate and ac (both very simple) and washed your linens again if they actually smelled. You were aloof and uncommunicative from the moment you arrived (well before check in). Your review is a disappointment and a misrepresentation but I will use it as an opportunity to make sure future guests are better equipped to use the appliances.
