Das Wortham House ist eine gotische Remise aus dem Jahr 1823 (die älteste in diesem Stil in Charleston und den USA). Beide Objekte sind im nationalen Verzeichnis historischer Stätten eingetragen.

Das Wortham House verfügt über drei Schlafzimmer im zweiten Stock, die jeweils über zwei Einzelbetten (von denen eines in ein Kingsize-Bett umgewandelt werden kann), Flachbildfernseher und ein eigenes Badezimmer verfügen. Das Haus bietet Platz für 6 Erwachsene. Die Miete für das Haus richtet sich nach der Anzahl der vermieteten Schlafzimmer. Man kann ein, zwei oder drei Schlafzimmer wählen. Nicht vermietete Schlafzimmer sind geschlossen und versichern den Ausschluss von Ihnen unbekannten Personen. Die erste Etage verfügt über eine große, geschmackvoll eingerichtete Lounge, in der Sie morgens Kaffee und Cocktails lesen können. Eine Gästetoilette befindet sich neben der Lounge. Ein Abendessen in der Küche für sechs Personen befindet sich ebenfalls neben der Lounge, wenn das Frühstück bis 9.00 Uhr serviert wird. In der Küche gibt es einen Kühlschrank, einen Backofen und eine Mikrowelle zum Erwärmen der ins Haus gebrachten Speisen. Leider ist das Kochen per se in der Stadt Charleston nicht erlaubt.

Das Wortham House ist von preisgekrönten Gärten umgeben, die in mehreren Zeitschriften und Büchern veröffentlicht wurden. Es wurde zuletzt von den Smithsonian Archives of American Gardens und dem Garden Conservatory von Amerikas besten 25 Gärten in den USA anerkannt. Platz im Garten steht zum Essen zur Verfügung. Parkmöglichkeiten für 2-3 Autos sind im Garten vorhanden.

Wir erlauben keine Haustiere, Kinder unter 18 Jahren oder Kochen vor Ort. Obwohl Ihr Frühstück in Ihrem Preis inbegriffen ist. Das gesamte Anwesen einschließlich Auffahrt und Garten ist rauchfrei. Mehrstufige Veränderungen im Altbau und im Garten machen es für unsichere Füße ungeeignet. Auch keine Zustellbetten zur Verfügung gestellt.

What a charming carriage house in the midst of a beautiful garden! Quiet neighborhood which is within walking distance to the downtown area or a quick uber ride! Betsy is the epitome of southern charm and is delight every time you talk to her! She provides a wonderful breakfast each morning ( quiche, bacon and eggs, biscuits, fresh fruit) all delicious and delivered to the kitchen! Daily house service is also included! This was a perfect setting for our annual girls trip! Three bedrooms (twin beds in each) with their own bathrooms!! Large table in the kitchen for game nights!

We stayed at the lovely Wortham House for a long weekend and college reunion. Our group consisted of six ladies and we were more than comfortable in the beautiful space. In addition to the well appointed interior, there were beautiful gardens where we enjoyed a glass of wine and conversation. Betsy was the most gracious and helpful host that you could ask for — the epitome of southern hospitality. We would most definitely return in the future.

Beautiful home and gardens!

We absolutely loved our stay. The home and gardens are exactly as described and shown in photos. The daily breakfast was amazing and made our trip so easy. We were a group of 6 for a girls birthday weekend and it was a perfect home for us. We would stay here again!
