Im Herzen von Connemara, 7 km von OUGHTERARD, Leam East, in Richtung CLIFFDEN, sehr hübsches Landhaus "Cottage", auf der Spitze eines kleinen Tals gelegen, das über eine Brücke erreichbar ist "die Stille-Mann-Brücke", wo gedreht wurde " der stille Mann "mit John Wayne. Dieses Ferienhaus von ca. 100m², auf einem eingezäunten Grundstück von 9 ha, ohne gegenüber, mit 2 Schlafzimmern, einem Wohnzimmer, 1 Küche mit Esszimmer und angrenzender Bar. Mögliche Nutzung Wohnzimmer Kamin (Torf, Holz, keine Kohle) .Um die Hütte herum weidet das ganze Jahr üppiges Grün mit Pferden und Schafen. Ein Grundstück, das nur durch Steinmauern begrenzt ist, weite Freiflächen, so weit das Auge reicht und gleichzeitig die Umwelt und die Natur respektiert. Herrlicher Panoramablick mit dem See Boffin "Lough Boffin" im Vordergrund und in den Tiefen des Wassers, im Osten, Blick auf den majestätischen See "Lough Corrib" mit seinen 250 Inseln (bester See Irlands) zum Fischen mit großen Ferrox-Forellen, großen Hechten und Lachsen.) Im Westen das Connemara-Gebirge mit zwölf Kiefern im Hintergrund, zwölf Gipfeln

A Dream Cottage

Of the many visits to Ireland I've had, this could probably be my favourite cottage of all. The location is absolutely amazing how it's tucked away between the hills. The inside was very cute and cosy. Loved the nearest town, Oughterard, which had a lovely coffee spot, several grocery options, and an amazing pub. I didn't want to leave, and can't wait to come back.

A lovely cottage, ideally located to discover the beauties of the Connemara. Very calm, only surrounded by sheeps, rabbits and a small creek. Christian, the owner, and Linda, a neighbor, are helpful and reactive for any question. The furniture is nice, of local style. The washing machine and the dryer are very useful in case of a wet walking...

Beautiful Cottage

We spent one week in the cottage and really enjoyed it. Every morning we made cup of coffee and just enjoyed the view counting the animals we saw. You really get to relax there and you have everything you need. We can warmly recommend the cottage.

Authentic Country Cottage

Our family of four was surrounded by lush greenery and Irish hillside in an authentic country cottage. We enjoyed watching the sheep roam the yard everyday. The calmness of the place was amazing. We had everything we needed. We were able to grocery shop a few miles away and cook at the cottage to save money for our adventures. Our children played the board games and hiked around the property.

The house is great and well situated, beautiful views and nice to have sheeps and horses around

We had a great time. The house is beautiful situated and with the sheeps and horses around and sometimes rabbits it is if you live in the middle of nature. Most of the things to do are max 1 hour drive from the house and when you drive in the surroundings the sceneries are beautiful. In the house there is a lot of space to sit down and relax (or watch tv, or just look outside the window from the couch in the kitchen and enjoy nature).

Fantastic time at cottage in beautiful surroundings

We had a fantastic week at the cottage. There was so much space and plenty of facilities. The location is spectacular views from every window. My son particularly enjoyed the friendly donkey who delighted us with his visits. I would thoroughly recommend this cottage and would love to stay again one day x

En fait pour chaque nouveau voyageur,je prends le soin de leur transmettre 10 jours avant leur arrivée,toutes les informations importantes par sms(point gps du cottage,emplacement des clefs ,fourniture draps,couettes... , serviettes toilettes,chauffage....), numéro telephones personnes à contacter sur place si problème au niveau du cottage. Après je pense que c'est au voyageur de se manifester s'il souhaite plus de communication. Cordialement

Really nice cottage in the remote are of the Irish West

A really nice little cottage where you can either relax or use it as a base to explore Galway county, spend time at the atlantic ocean, walk the surrounding mountains or visit nice cities or towns such as Galway or Clifden. The cottage is equipped with everything you need and has a really nice both traditional and modern style. We couldn´t ask for more :-)

Lovely stay

We had a love stay on the outskirts of Oughterard! The property was quiet and remote and very enjoyable! Only thing I would say is we were a little confused on how to access the property at first because the address given stops at the cottages. I would also have liked the property manager to be more responsive, but the local contact was very helpful! Over all, this stay was great and will be incredibly memorable for a long time!

We had a great stay in Oughterard/Leam. The house was very comfortable, well equipped and spacious. Christian, the owner, provided answers to our queries in a very timely manner. Nice, private cottage

Cottage is nicely decorated and spacious. Kitchen was well equipped. Very quiet, private location. The nearby village of Oughterard is lovely, with beautiful walks. The location is a good hub for adventures in the area. We really enjoyed our stay. * Although the cottage is located on 9 acres, the cottage itself is fenced in tightly and the property is not accessible (and heavily populated with livestock).

Very nice with a few surprises and hiccups

great with several worthwhile destinations within an hour's drive. "ocean view" in the listing obviously mistranslated obvious though, if you look at the map. No Wi-fi but a small portion of the kitchen has mobile data coverage. Bring a wifi router. Host only speaks frech. Lovely neighbourhood though. Very nice place if you're up for a moderate amount of adventure regarding the house.

not a good review

We did not stay here! This property is located in a pasture at the end of a two track road after passing through 3 gates. (Would have been nice to know!) The cottage was cold as the heat had not been turned on until the day we arrived. It would take several days to warm for occupancy. Additionally, the cottage smelled stale and had a sewer smell to it like it had not be aired out for quite some time. We determined that we could not stay there. I have tried to contact the owner to request a refund but he is not responsive. Do not book this property. You will be totally dissappointed.

C'est bien la première fois que mon cottage subit une telle dés appréciation ! c'est si violent que l'on peut se demander si cela n'est pas largement sur-joué pour sans doute obtenir un remboursement... Mon cottage se situe dans un cirque de verdure où des chevaux, poneys et moutons paissent tranquillement toute la journée... Du salon, des chambres, cette nature vivante on la voit et c'est superbe, c'est l'Irlande...pour moi du moins et pour les nombreux locataires qui ont séjourné chez moi et qui me font part de ce plaisir de nature. Alors effectivement il y a des portails, 2 plus précisément (pas trois), qui sécurisent pour l'un la propriété dans un premier périmètre, le second (périmètre rapproché) pour éviter que les animaux ne soient trop proches de la maison, des personnes et que le jardin ne soit ainsi pas brouté ;) Il est évident que ce cottage correspond davantage à des amoureux de la nature avec une certaine autonomie de déplacement (le centre ville se situe à 10 mn en voiture) plutôt qu'à des urbains et/ou personne assez âgées...Sans doute faîtes-vous partis de cette dernière catégorie de population et suis navré que votre séjour fusse gâché à ce point ; quant à l'humidité, le manque de chauffage cela me paraît surprenant car mon voisin a activé le chauffage central trois jours avant votre arrivée. Il vous a d'ailleurs rencontré ....souvenez-vous .... Enfin je regrette qu'il soit si facile de laisser des commentaires négatifs, non justifiés afin d'obtenir des remboursements .....

Could have been better

Disappointed with a few issues: TV didn't work & was finally replaced after we'd been there 4 nights. Only 1 saucepan lid for 5 saucepans so made cooking anything tricky. No grill pan for the grill, no WIFI even though property states there is, exceeded my data allowance on my mobile phone as a result & could only get 5 G on phone in certain areas of cottage. No starter pack of fuel provided for wood burner. Instructions for cottage all in French. No washing up bowl provided. Broken hinge on toilet seat so seat wonky. Couldn't use wardrobes for hanging clothes as full of stuff. Expected better for the money. When complained to owner about no TV & no WI-FI they weren't at all apologetic.

Sorry for your unhappy stay, I reacted immediately for the tv and bought one as soon as I could, you know,we are in the country side...,by the way wifi cable was plucked at last storm and I 'm in touch with a service to replace it.Anyway I fell disapointed for my first negative review and I'll do my best next time, cordialy

Schöner Aufenthalt

Wir hatten einen schönen Aufenthalt in Connemara. Das Haus liegt ruhig und abgelegen mitten in wunderschöner Natur und durch das schöne große Fenster konnte man auch gern mal eine Weile den Wolken, Regen und Wind zuschauen und dem Hasen, der täglich vorbeikam...Leider muss ich ein paar Abzüge machen: es gibt im Haus kein Trinkwasser, was schön gewesen wäre vorher zu wissen und es gab nur Unterlagen zum Haus auf französisch. Auch WLAN war nicht vorhanden obwohl es im Inserat steht ( was uns Erwachsene nicht so sehr gestört hat, aber unsere Tochter nicht so toll fand) und auch bei der Sauberkeit musste ich leider einen Stern weniger geben ( habe zum Beispiel erstmal das tolle große Fenster in Sitzhöhe putzen müssen, weil es noch Abdrücke von Kleinkindern hatte). Trotzdem, tolles Haus und schöne Umgebung!

Concernant l'eau non potable: En Irlande de nombreux cottages dans des zones semi montagneuses sont alimentés par des petits torrents. Quelque part c'est ce qui fait le charme pour les gens qui vivent en osmose avec la nature en sachant que pour la boisson de l'eau minérale est mise à disposition... Cordialement

Ein toller Ort im Nirgendwo

Ein schöner Ort mitten in den Bergen mit Blick auf den See. Falls ihr spät abends anreist: lasst Euch den Weg genau beschreiben. Sonst findet ihr das Haus nicht!

Avec le point gps exact que je vous transmet (en zoomant vous voyez le cottage)par téléphone je pensais que ce serait suffisant Cordialement
