Charming 2 Bedroom Cottage in Compton Abdale, Glos - Pass the Keys
Riverside Cottage is a charming 18th century 2 bedroom cottage in the picturesque hamlet of Compton Abdale, near Cheltenham, Northleach & Bourton on Water.
The cottage is an ideal base for a country getaway, set in a valley in the heart of the Cotswolds, about 10 minutes drive from Cheltenham, Northleach and Bourton-on-the-Water. The cottage has two very comfy double beds, sitting room, dining room and private garden surrounded by beautiful countryside.
Riverside Cottage sits just a few steps from the "crocodile" water spout along the lane bordered by the little stream of spring water that flows under the cottage doorstep.
It is a quaint country cottage, please consider that we do occasionally gets small bugs and the odd cobweb, we do our best to keep the cottage free of all of this but spiders have a habit of rebuilding the webs.
The living rooms and bedrooms only have table lamps.
Duck your head as you open the old front door! On your right is a tiny dining room with a fireplace and a little round table. Continue through to the well-equipped galley kitchen to put the kettle on. Make your way back through the dining room around to the cozy sitting room where you can settle into an easy chair to read.
We have good (100MB/s) internet and "mesh"wi-fi that covers the whole house, but we do not have a television, so bring your laptop for a Netflix binge weekend! A rustic flagstone patio surrounded by high stone walls makes a great place to sit outside in the morning for a leisurely brunch, while the hillside garden that runs up to the churchyard behind the cottage is a lovely spot to while away a lazy afternoon.
Upstairs are two bedrooms, each with very comfy double beds. The ground floor bathroom has a large bath and integral shower. An oil-fired boiler provides reliable heating throughout the cottage and copious supplies of hot water while the two working fireplaces can add to the ambience with cozy log fires too.
Riverside is a truly charming cottage which has been tastefully furnished with antique country furniture and all the appurtenances of modern life.
Note: the stairs are short but wooden & quite steep, and there are some low beams, as it is an older cottage. So please be careful!
There is free on street parking close by, on first come first served basis.
Please no smoking or vaping is permitted throughout the property.
One small well behaved dog is allowed on request. Please give details when making your booking, to enable us to determine if they are suitable for the property. There is an additional fee of £30, added to the booking price.
CHECK IN
Check in time is from 3pm but we will try to let you get into the house sooner, if requested. It just depends if we have guests staying the night before.
CHECK OUT
Check out is 10am, so we can get the property ready for our next guests.
Guests will have access to the whole property, including the private garden.

The cottage has an electric oven and hob, an under-counter fridge with freezer compartment, washing machine and tumble dryer. Central heating and hot water is provided by an oil boiler. Fuel and power is included in rent.
Comfy outdoor seating. Pets welcome.
Working fireplace in the dining room creating a cozy ambience for winter evenings by the fires - although thankfully the oil-fired central heating is the cottage's primary source of heat (and copious hot water!)
