Schon wieder zufrieden :-)

Wir waren zum zweiten Mal in diesem schönen denkmalgeschützten Cottage und haben uns wieder wie zuhause gefühlt. Hat alles gepasst. Immer noch sehr zu empfehlen.

Wohlgefühlt wie im zweiten Zuhause...

Hier hat alles gestimmt, das Haus ist genau so wie beschrieben. Die Lage ist perfekt, nah am Ortsrand, sehr gut für Hunde geeignet, ruhig, gute Parkmöglichkeiten. Winchcombe selbst ist ein sehr schöner Ort, zum Glück noch nicht so überlaufen wie z.B. Bourton on the Water, aber ein guter Ausgangspunkt zu vielen Orten der Cotswolds. Im Innern ist das alte denkmalgeschützte Häuschen sehr geschmackvoll eingerichtet, eine Wohltat fürs Auge. Der Garten ist genau in der richtigen Größe, schöne Sitz- und Liegegelegenheiten, die vielen Laternen machen es am Abend besonders romantisch. Nicht zuletzt die sehr freundlichen und hilfsbereiten Vermieter Emma und Jim haben dazu beigetragen, dass wir uns hier mehr als zwei Wochen wie zuhause gefühlt haben. Wir werden gerne einmal wieder kommen!

Hier stimmt alles!

Das sehr gemütliche und komfortabel ausgestattete Cottage liegt in einem typischen Cotswolds Dorf, etwas am Rande und nicht weit entfernt von Wanderrouten oder Spazierwegen. Parkplätze gibt es direkt vor dem Haus. Emma, die Besitzerin, hat uns sehr nett empfangen, die wichtigsten Dinge rund um das Haus erläutert und für den Anfang sehr nützliche Einkaufs- und Restauranttipps gegeben. Neben den sehr bequemen Betten, möchte ich das zwar kleine, aber effektive Duschbad erwähnen, das wärmende künstliche Kaminfeuer sowie den hellen Wintergarten mit schöner Aussicht auf den Garten. Es ist ausreichend Frotteewäsche vorhanden, ebenso wie Geschirr in der Küche. Ein kleiner Wandspiegel in der Nähe einer Steckdose wäre sinnvoll.

We found this to be the quintessential Cotswold VRBO. LOVELY cottage complete with back yard garden that is just about magical. Located on the street that leads to Sudely Castle (couple of blocks walk from front door). Numerous walking trails close, 1/2 block from restaurants/pubs. Very accomodating host. Would definitely stay here again.

Excellent location, walking distance to the cafes , market, shops. Cottage is adorable. The beds are very comfy! Cotswald way and many trails just steps away, very easy to get to. Sudeley Castle is under 15 minutes walk away.

Jim and Emma went above and beyond for us during our stay. Beautiful cottage with the most comfy beds. There is a great welcome package to help you get around town and Jim and Emma are so helpful. Great location. Highly recommend.

A Perfect Cotswolds Experience

Emma and Jim's place was exactly what you're looking for to experience the true Cotswolds! It's located on the prettiest little street in Winchcombe, yet not too busy. There was always ample and convenient free parking. And the house itself is exactly what would pop into your mind when you think about a row home in the Cotswolds. The beds were ultra comfortable. We would return to this property without hesitation in the future. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

Delightful Cotswold Cottage.

Highly recommend this lovely little stone cottage. It was clean, comfortable and well equipped. Our host, Emily, was very helpful with info about travelling to and from the town and responded to enquiries quickly. Winchcombe is a great place from which to hike and there was lots of info in the cottage about local trails.

Lovely traditional cottage

Lovely traditional cottage, close to castle and all amenities. Let down by the weather but this is England. Unfortunately only a couple of places to eat at the time we were there as the corner cupboard was closed and so was the old bakery and plaisterers arms didn’t have a cook. lol cal Indian was amazing. Check in process was easy and hosts on other end of the phone if you needed anything

Fantastic little cottage in great location!

Lovely little cottage with parking. Little garden at the back is gorgeous. Great location in lovely Winchcombe. We were attending an event at Prescott hillclimb all week so it was very handy. The owner was so helpful and always on hand. Will be booking again.

Great location, let down by cleanliness

Great location with many walks from the doorstep, also close to shops and restaurants. Cottage let down by the cleanliness and the smell of dogs. The downstairs needs a deep clean with all the soft furnishings needing a wash, the bathroom white wear was clean however there was thick dust on the skirting boards, cobwebs and mould on the ceiling. The garden was enclosed and a great bonus but the photos were from years ago as the garden was overgrown, lots of weeds with no maintenance. We had to sweep the patio, scrub the patio table and chairs and clean the inside of the bbq from cobwebs before we could use it. The cottage itself is a lovely stone cottage and wouldn’t take much to make this it outstanding with tidying the garden, a deep clean of everything with redecorating the bathroom. The beds were very comfortable, lots of useful information especially for all the walks locally, easy check in and communication from the owner was great, kitchen was compact but had everything you needed. It is a bonus you can bring your dog (we also had a dog with us) and this cottage is obviously used by lots of dog owners. However this is apparent with the doggy smell as soon as you open the door. If you allow dogs to stay in the cottage this requires a deep clean after each visit. From the stains on the sofas, chairs and the smell of the cushions and blankets, dogs have used all of these. Such a shame as the cottage itself is lovely.

A great three week stay!

We just finished up a three weeks stY. Winchcomb, one of our favorite towns in the UK. The cottage is in a great location and is a quaint grade 2 listed property, making it comfortably rustic, but equipped with all the mod cons. A two minute walk and you are in the middle of town. Comfortable bed, plenty of hot water, fast internet, and smart TV. Parking was not a problem. In the three weeks we stayed we parked either directly out front or one or two spaces either side of the front door. The kitchen was well equipped with everything we needed for cooking on the nights we chose to eat at home. Plenty of pubs and good takeout for those nights you’d rather not cook. Emma was a great host, easy to work with, extremely communicative, and had loads of local advice. A great enclosed yard for our dog round it out our visit. If you are considering a stay in Winchcombe, I would put this place on your short list.

Perfect bolt hole

We’ve had an amazing stay over the new year break. Location is perfect just at the bottom of the lane leading to the castle. The spectacle of light event is worth recommending. The cottage is like the one from the Holiday movie, just perfect for a festive (not only) break. In the middle of the village so all restaurants within a few minutes. The cottage is just lovely, two lovely and comfortable bedrooms, great downstairs and we’ve used the gas stove for the extra coziness. The bottle of wine in the fridge was a welcome surprise, thank you. We had a fantastic and relaxing stay!

Excellent holiday let

A well appointed property with everything necessary to enjoy a marvellous short break. A point of special note were the very comfortable beds, which enabled the whole part to enjoy exceptional rest at night. A quiet location aoart from one lovely evening of church bells (practice?). Be very likely to look again at this property for our next break.

Hello, my husband Jim and I have lived in Winchcombe for since 2003 and we love the town, it has a great community spirit, very friendly, great pubs, restaurants, shops, deli, galleries and antique emporiums.
Jim is a really keen mountain biker (I dabble on the easier trails!) and we love walking our lovely pointer Tatti (short for Taitttinger!) and socialising with our friends. We love welcoming guests to the cottage and will be happily on hand for any advice required by our visitors.
