The area is renowned for its public architecture, which makes a fine show of itself in the many squares and parks. Among the places of greatest interest stands out
the Marinai d'Italia Park, also called Vittorio Formentano Park, an extraordinary oasis of tranquility a few steps from Corso XXII Marzo, one of the busiest arteries. Walking along the paths surrounded by greenery, you will reach the Palazzina Liberty, once an integral part of the Verziere fruit and vegetable market and today the seat of the Casa della Poesia. Of particular interest is the history of the splendid Palazzo di Giustizia, a neoclassical building that was the scene of the investigations of Mani Pulite in the early 1990s.
In the center of Piazza Giuseppe Grandi, the perfect stop to put something to your teeth, stands a statue that represents the wonder of primitive man in front of the great gift of Nature. Porta Vittoria is located east of the center, 25 minutes by metro or half an hour by bus from the Central Station. Compared to other tourist areas of the Milanese capital, Porta Vittoria is easier to get around by car, with parking spaces also available in the secondary streets.
