Some of our favourite places to go in the summer are:
– the village swimming pool, complete with big red slide
– Le lac Bleu in Morillon for a swim, or high ropes or a round of crazy golf, finishing off with an ice cream.
– The weekly Wednesday Samoëns market full of Local food producers & craftsmen.
– Parapenting from Samoëns 1600, cycling, and white water rafting from Sixt back to Samoëns.
– The amazing botanical gardens in the centre of the village, open all year.
– Paddle boarding and inflatable climbing in the lakes of Les Gets and Montriond.
Some fantastic eateries in winter & summer include La Reposette in Vercland, consistently fantastic food and atmosphere.
Le Igloo, at the top of the chair lift in Morillon – amazing food, and spectacular views from their red deck chairs! In the village we love La Canette for tasty burgers at a great price.
In the winter, the 250 Km of skiing across the Grand Massif area includes Flaine and Les Carroz, as well as Morillon, Samoëns and Sixt, with ski runs to suit all abilities. The Grand Massif Express (GME) bubble lift is a 3 minute drive away with plenty of parking (there is a small charge now) and it takes you to Samoëns 1600 with access to the whole ski area. Alternatively a drive to the Vercland bubble also takes you to 1600 with the added bonus of being able to ski back to the bottom if the snow allows.
