Beautiful Apartment with Parking, Central Exeter
Summary:
Stay in the heart of Exeter in this stylish 2-bedroom apartment, set within a grand Victorian building on a quiet, historic street. Just a short walk from shops and attractions, it offers a modern open-plan kitchen/living area with smart TV and double doors to a shared garden with seating. A second sitting room with TV converts to a double bed. The master bedroom features a king-size bed, with a shared bathroom including bath/shower.
Guest Access:
Guests have access to the whole apartment and shared garden. It is worth noting that the garden is very rarely used by other residents.
The Neighborhood:
The house is located on a historic, quiet street in the centre of Exeter. It's perfectly located and benefits from being in a peaceful location but with the city's amenities and attractions a short walk away. Just 1 minute walk will lead you to Magdalen Road, a traditional high-street with a plethora of artisan cafes, coffee shops and restaurants.
Within a 10-minute walk, you’re at the Quay where it’s a simple wander across the bridge and over into the city centre. Straddling the banks of the River Exe, the Quay area feels like you’ve left the city entirely and are instead in an oasis of calm populated by offbeat cafés and antique shops. Come night time the place is teeming with bars and is the perfect place to enjoy dinner by the water’s edge.
Exeter is a small, yet bustling city which is famed for its pretty Cathedral and charming historic buildings. Cafes spill out onto the green, where you can enjoy delicious alfresco lunches during spring and summer. Meanwhile, in winter, the courtyard twinkles with the lights of Christmas market stalls. The nearby high street is filled with shops and restaurants - a mixture of chains and independents - so you can shop to your heart's content. As well as the high street, there are a plethora of cobbled back streets and hidden gems to discover. From JK Rowling’s inspired The Old Fire House pub to the quirky Glorious Art House cafe and the charming Gandy Street - all are a must-visit.
One of the brilliant things about Exeter is its proximity and access to the countryside and coast. Within 15-20 minutes you could be wandering through the quaint streets of Topsham - a fishing village where you’ll find some fantastic antique shops. Or, tucking into fresh fish and chips at the famous Dart’s Farm. Enjoy days spent on the beach at Exmouth, Sidmouth or Budleigh Salterton - and make sure to stop off at Lympstone Manor, a beautiful manor house hotel run by Michael Caines.
Find more local tips and tricks in our Guest Guide, which is available on booking.
Getting Around:
The apartment has one space available on a first-come, first-served basis on the shared driveway at the front of the building.
For those travelling by train, the property is a 30-minute walk or 5-minute taxi ride from the Exeter St David's station. If you're coming from Exeter Airport, it's only a 15-minute drive (lots of taxis are available) or 30 minutes by train. There are also numerous car hire companies at the airport as well as in the city should you want to explore the wider area.
Other Things to Note:
The apartment has steps leading down to it. However, once inside, it is all on one level.
Private parking for 1 vehicle is available on a first-come, first-served basis.
This is a residential area and noise travels easily in our historic building. We kindly ask that you respect our neighbours by keeping noise to a minimum between 10pm and 9am and that you're mindful of closing doors quietly at all times.
