The Mews House is a spacious 3 bedroom house, hidden away in a courtyard, in central Devizes. A peaceful retreat, steps from the market square.
With free parking for one car outside the front door.
The Victorian house was once part of Wadworth Brewery, converted into a house 20 yrs ago.
The house was fully renovated, completed in early 2025 and is now available for short and medium term stays.
The space
You enter into an open plan sitting room and dining room, off which is an eat in kitchen and downstairs cloak room. Both the kitchen and sitting room lead out to the large patio. The sitting room has a log burner.
Off the patio is a large laundry room, with a separate washing machine and dryer.
Back in the house, upstairs has a master bedroom with en suite shower room. There is a Super King size bed (or can be made up to two singles if needed on longer trips). The second and third bedrooms both have two singles and there is a good sized family bathroom. The second bedroom, can be converted from two singles to a super king size bed if needed for longer stays.
Devizes and Local:
The property is located a short walk from the Kennet & Avon Canal which leads to the Caen Hill locks - all 29 of them! Also at the Market place, a 2 minute walk, is the Bus "Island". Take the 49 with its scenic route across the downs to Swindon. It also stops in Avebury for the Stones and the Manor House & Garden.
Devizes is a brewery town (Wadsworths), with many pub and eating options locally. An excellent non Wadsworths option is the Pour Inn Micropub located just off the Market Place. And the Black Swan on the marketplace is one of the best pubs locally. And many more options are on offer, do just ask!
