Hinton Lodge is a 100 year old colonial style self-catering cottage, which has been completely refurbished in 2021 to high standards. Hinton Lodge is a detached rural cottage situated on a small rise in the middle of a picturesque valley. It overlooks beautiful views of fields leading to Salisbury Plain. Although it offers a quiet and peaceful atmosphere, it is conveniently situated within easy distance of nice local pubs, restaurants, shops, etc. and is ideally situated to discover many places of interest such as the ancient sites of Stonehenge and Avebury, Longleat House and Safari Park, the cities of Bath and Salisbury, and many more...

Wunderbarer Urlaub!

Hinton Lodge ist ein sehr schönes Cottage, schön möbliert, ruhig gelegen, alles da, was man braucht. Besonders nett war der Besuch des weißen Pferdes, auf der Koppel nebenan. Uns haben nur mehr Haken im Bad zum Aufhängen der Handtücher gefehlt, da man pro Person ein großes und ein kleines Handtuch hat.

Diese Bewertung wurde vor 2018 eingereicht und wurde nicht geprüft.

Hinton Lodge

Hübsches Cottage, sehr ruhig gelegen. Wir hatten es nicht gleich gefunden, da es an der Hinton Lane deutlich außerhalb von Great Hinton gelegen ist. Die sehr freundliche Housekeeper lotste uns dann dorthin. Ländliches Idyll, kein Lärm, morgens Vögel und Kaninchen auf der Wiese. Die engen und unübersichtlichen Landstraßen der Gegend eignen sich nicht für "sichere Spaziergänge". In dem kleinen Haus war an Technik und Ausstattung alles vorhanden wie beschrieben und funktionierte problemlos. Als Ausgangsbasis für die Erkundung der Region von Saintsbury bis Bath und Wells ist der Standort gut geeignet. In dem Häuschen und im dazugehörigen Gartenanteil kann man sich erholen und die Seele baumeln lassen. Als Familie mit 2 Kindern hatten wir eine schöne Woche verbracht und können das Haus jederzeit empfehlen. MB

Altes Haus mit Charme in ruhiger Lage

Wir waren als Familie mit einem Baby und einer 3-jährigen für fünf Nächte Anfang Mai zu Gast. Insgesamt war es ein gelungener Aufenthalt, wir würden die Hinton Lodge jederzeit empfehlen! Kommunikation im Vorfeld: optimal, 5/5 Lage der Lodge: absolut ruhig, kaum Verkehr, 5/5 Sauberkeit: optimal 5/5 Ausstattung: alles vorhanden, im Bad fehlen jedoch zusätzliche Haken für Handtücher oder Kulturbeutel 5/5 Zustand der Ausstattung: nicht neu, aber auch nicht abgewohnt, Dusche sehr schwach 4/5 Sonstiges: Sehr altes Haus, daher viele hohe Absätze zwischen den Räumen. Nicht ideal für Krabbelkinder, auch die 3-jährige ist nachts gestürzt. Wir waren außerdem immer auf der Suche nach Lichtschaltern, auch das ist erklärt durch das Alter, aber unkomfortabel. 3/5 Daher für Familien wie uns 4/5 Sterne Ohne Kleinkinder 5/5

Ländliches England

Von hier erreicht man Bath (30min), Bristol (50min). Die Unterkunft war in Ordnung. Was uns gefiel: Kleine Rasenfläche vor dem Haus (Ball spielen, Sonne genießen), ruhige Umgebung, nett eingerichtet. Was uns nicht gefiel: Keine Insektennetze vor den Fenstern; die Dusche hatte kaum Wasserdruck; die Einzelbetten waren ziemlich ausgenudelt; das Internet war nicht als Flat verfügbar, sondern könnte nur von Besitzerin aufgeladen werden (man kann selber mit der eigenen Kreditkarten nicht aufladen, da Wohnsitz in GB sein muss).

What a gorgeous property! We got a little list (Thanks Google) but once we found it, we were so happy. Beautiful cottage, thanks for the milk for the coffee. Using the heaters was a little confusing but we eventually figured it out. It is a little out of the way from places but for us, that was the point. We had a car and could easily get to Bath, Stonehenge, and other points of interest.

Nice private spot

We had a short stay at this cottage. It was well appointed, bright and the outside area is fantastic for relaxing. There are doors separating every room which makes it convenient for cutting down noise if you have multiple people staying there. The pub in Steeple Ashton was fantastic (The Longs). The one and only drawback was the strength of the smell of the (I assume) cleaning products. In trying to air out the smell, we discovered that the second room's window was impossible to open and main living area were painted shut.

We stayed at Hinton Lodge whilst visiting family and it made the perfect base. Everything was comfortable, clean and as described. Due to a last minute family emergency Clea was incredibly accommodating to some late minute changes, which was very much appreciated. Would definitely recommend a stay if visiting the area.

Enjoyable stay at Hinton Lane

We were a family of 5 and had a great stay at the cottage. The hostess was very friendly and quick to respond to messages and accepted our request for early check in as we were flying in from the Middle East. The cottage was clean and kitchen fully equipped. The cottage is on a quiet lane and surrounded by the countryside. Lovely place to relax and explore.

Excellent property in an amazing location.

Had the best weekend celebrating my husband's 50th Birthday in this 100yr old property located in a beautiful country side where you wake up to horses n deers. The property caretaker is an amazing lady who arranged the cake n balloons upon request n I can't thank enough for this huge help as I wanted to surprise my husband as he entered the property. Immaculately clean n neat property located within short distances to super markets, Stonehenge n Roman baths.

Hello, I'm Clea, your host at Hinton Lodge. We bought our property in 2000 and have hosted people from all over the world in our small little quaint cottage in Wiltshire for over 20 years. Hinton Lodge used to be the gate house to our own house, so we changed the entrance to ours to give complete privacy to the guests staying at Hinton Lodge with parking in front. It has been such a joy to meet so many people coming from different parts of the country and the world over the years. People tend to come back time and again at Hinton Lodge as it is so cosy and quiet, particularly if you come from a big city. All you can hear is the noise of the birds when you wake up. We love to travel ourselves and wanted to create a home from home where you have all you need for a peaceful stay in the beautiful English countryside. We hope you'll enjoy your time at Hinton Lodge if you choose to come and stay with us.

We bought Hinton Lodge more than 20 years ago here in Wiltshire because we love the English countryside and because Wiltshire is a beautiful county with so many delightful places to visit within easy reach. There are the villages of Lacock with its old Abbey, Castle Coombe, Devizes with its many canal locks, stunning cities such as Bath with its Roman Baths, famous Circle, the Jane Austen museum and countless delicious restaurants, Salisbury with its cathedral, the less well known but truly wonderful sacred site of the Avebury Stone Circle, as well as the better known and world heritage site of Stonehenge and so much more. Hinton Lodge is within minutes of gorgeous walks on Salisbury Plain if you have a dog or just love walking. Longleat Park and House are also nearby with so much to do for the whole family . We could go on and on and on about all the places you can get to from Hinton Lodge. You will certainly have plenty to do during your stay.

Although Hinton Lodge dates of the early 1900s, it has been lovingly restored and kept up to date, respecting the old charm whilst bringing it into the 21st century with all modern amenities. We hope you will fall in love with it as we have. You can relax on the porch and sip a nice glass of wine in the summer, or enjoy the open fire in the winter with a nice cup of tea. Whatever you do, whether you choose to be out and about all day making the most of what Wiltshire has to offer, or stay cosily in the cottage to relax and recharge, you will have a restorative time there.
