The property is very spacious, comfortable and kitchen well equipped. The garden/grounds are lovely, with tables and chairs on a patio area. The interior is a quite dated and could do with a spruce up in certain areas, but comfortable and has everything you need. On the whole it was very clean, but dust and cobwebs in places. Great place for rest and relaxation. We stayed as a couple, but would be ideal for a larger family or group of friends. Ample off-road parking on private drive.

Beautiful house in a stunning location

The house was beautiful and spacious, beds very comfortable and loved the electric blankets. Plentiful off road parking and great base for exploring the Cotswolds. We had a very nice lunch at the local pub, food delicious.the gardens and outside areas were fabulous but obviously better in the summer time. We would definitely return if in the Cotswolds again.

review of holiday at Arlington house

as outlined the property is large both internally and externally and would be ideal for a summer holiday for a large family facilities within the property are good with no issues to report the one issue we had was that on arrival Saturday afternoon the property was very cold which aligned with the heating set up which wasn't going to get the temperature up to an acceptable level for mid March - having adjusted that it took until Monday morning to get to a satisfactory solution which based on the cost for the week was disappointing.

Absolutely remarkable property in the centre of beautiful Lower Slaughter. Significant size rooms with separate dining room. Tons of outdoor space and plenty of parking room too. High recommended for groups of friends or family.

Beautiful property

What a stunning property. The house was spacious and clean, with comfortable furniture and beds, and a great coffee maker. We really enjoyed the proximity to Lower and Upper Slaughter, as well as to Bourton. Such a great place to stay, we would love to stay here again.

Lovely house, great location

We stayed for Christmas and the house was perfect, plenty of space and had most things we needed. The garden was amazing for our dog and secure. The only little niggle (which wasn’t really a problem) was that the double bedroom to the right of the house seems to have a problem with ladybugs coming in through the window frames. Other than that we can’t fault this house at all.

Beautiful house in an idyllic village.

We really enjoyed our stay in this beautiful house. The village is one of the nicest we have ever seen and well located to explore the cotswolds. The house itself is very well equipped, clean and has loads of space. Perfect in every way !

Perfect location, just had a small issue

The location is 10/10 right in the heart of Lower Slaughter. It’s walkable to a restaurant, beautiful scenery, and a little coffee shop. The yard is absolutely huge and lots of outdoor seating. My two main issues are the ants in the kitchen and the mold in the bedroom with the two twin beds by the windows and in the bathroom shower. Had I known I wouldn’t have put my kids in that bedroom to sleep. We brought our kids and couldn’t prep or keep any food in the kitchen because of the ants. The owner was very responsive and told us where he kept the ant bait, but I didn’t want to put out ant bait myself. The housekeeper came over (I think, didn’t get confirmation) to try and take care of the ants, but it didn’t work. We didn’t see ants other than in the kitchen and I think it’s due to the countertops. The grout is very dirty (black) and there is probably embedded food in the grout which attracts them. With some minor updates to this place, we would 100% stay here again.

We are, however, sorry to learn about your concerns during your stay. Following the housekeeper's visit to the property, they carried out a thorough inspection but were unfortunately unable to find any evidence of ants in the kitchen or elsewhere within the property. We would also like to clarify that the grout surrounding the kitchen worktops is intentionally black in colour and has been since the kitchen was installed. It is not discoloured due to dirt or food residue, and therefore would not constitute a source of attraction for ants. We also take comments regarding cleanliness and maintenance very seriously. Your observations concerning the bedroom and bathroom have been noted and will be reviewed as part of our ongoing maintenance programme to ensure the property continues to meet the high standards we strive to provide. We genuinely appreciate your positive comments about the property itself and are pleased to hear that, with a few improvements, you would consider staying with us again. We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you and your family back in the future.

Relaxing stay in the Cotswolds

My family and I had a most pleasant stay at the Arlington House. Upon our arrival, a nice bouquet of flowers along with tea, milk and sugar were waiting in the kitchen. The house is beautiful with nice furnishings and has a lovely garden where our two smaller ones aged 8 & 11 had a lot of fun running around. The bedrooms are large with comfortable beds. I would recommend it to anyone visiting the Cotswolds.

Let me try to give balanced feedback on our recent May 2025 experience at Arlington House; the first 18 hrs of a three day stay were frankly uncomfortable. On arrival the house was cold - very cold - ( I guess it had not been occupied for a few days maybe longer ) and despite my best efforts I couldn’t get any response from the heating system. That evening we sat in the lounge under a duvet watching TV. 2nd half of May! The owner responded some hours after I messaged him to indicate that the heating had been left on “holiday” mode and that it would now work. It didn’t. The managing agent responded the following morning wrongly stating that they knew we now had the heating working. But neither of them actually picked up the phone to speak to us. On the first morning I was able to get the Boost to work (the user manual is not available to tenants) to warm the house and from then on I used this menu option in the absence of any apparent preset heating menu. So, it wasn’t until half way into our stay that the house finally began to feel warm and thus welcoming. By then we had also noticed the bulbs in two chandeliers that needed replacing, the clock in the kitchen that was stopped because the battery needed changing, the absence of oven gloves, the dishwasher asking for Rinse Aid. We never really got the towel rail upstairs to work so bath linen and the bath mat didn’t really dry before reuse. There were just the two of us; good job really in a house marketed for six because
