Sleep on a Sailboat in Lisbon – Unique Stay

Sleeping aboard a sailing boat can be a unique and memorable experience, offering a blend of adventure and tranquility with a comfortable and enjoyable night's rest.

The small movements of the boat, the sound of the water lapping against the hull and the sounds of the cables on neighbouring boats all contribute to a special ambience.

On the boat you will find all the options as on small apartment, a living room, kitchenette, cabins and wc. But, it´s a boat not a apartment.

RNAAT 264/2020

The boat is an Elan 40 with a length of 12 metres, which has been racing in the Mediterranean for 15 years and has won the Portuguese championship several times. It's a fantastic boat to sail.

The boat has 3 cabins, 2 bathrooms with hot water, a kitchenette, a salon and a sundeck where you can relax watching the sunset

- The bow cabin (front do the boat) in V shape with a double bed and a private bathroom with hot water shower
- The 2 aft cabin (back of the boat) has a rectangular double bed.
- The saloon has a central folding table with 2 couches and one of then can be converted into a double bed.
- The kitchen has a electric stove, microwave, sinks and a fridge.
- The salon bathroom has a hot water shower and a manual toilet.

Neighborhood

The dock of Alcântara is located behind the Oriente Museum and Nacional Museum of Ancient Art, it's a quiet and safe area completely fenced and accessible only by card. In bad weather, it is the most protected dock in Lisbon because it is surrounded by tall buildings.

This riverside area stretching from the central area of Cais do Sodré to the Alcântara area of Lisbon, is home to several national and international restaurants, bars, terraces and other services, alongside the river docks, which is usually frequented by the most various vessels.

Formerly an industrial space that has fallen into disuse and abandonment, the space has been reclassified and become one of the main nightlife spots in Lisbon, offering also services during the day that allow to enjoy this riverside area of great beauty and peace of mind, achieving the objective of approaching the riverside area, a city that for many years found itself with its back facing its river. Sometimes a bar in the neighbourhood has parties with loud music until dawn.

What to expect

One of our guests wrote that this is a real boat, in real water and in real weather. This sentence summarizes it all.

The boat is not a boat during the day and an apartment at night, it will move with the wind and with the water, the cables hit the masts with the wind, the ships enter and leave the port at night.

If it's raining, I cannot do anything because I'm not the weatherman. The weather forecast is very accurate for less than 5 days and pretty good for less than 14 days.



Check-in and check-out times

Check-in time is between 17:00 and 22:00 on the start date of your booking unless another time has been agreed with us.

Check-out time is until 10:00 on the last day of your booking unless another time has been agreed with us. Unauthorized late departures will incur additional charges.

On the day of arrival, guests must present their identity documents (passport or identity card) to the owners.

By law, we are obliged to report some personal details of each guest to the Immigration and Borders Service (SEF).

Extra guests

The guest on whose behalf the booking was made must stay in the accommodation as we cannot accept bookings for other people.

Extra people are not allowed beyond the number of people on the reservation.

Airbnb and Booking take this issue so seriously that in the event of a complaint, the booking is canceled and the guest is not entitled to any compensation.

Quiet hours

Quiet hours are from 22:00 to 7:00.

Please keep noise levels to a minimum during this time to ensure a peaceful environment for all guests.

Tobacco and drugs

As a family home, we have a no-smoking policy, so we ask that you do not smoke inside the property

What you do in your personal time is entirely up to you, but when you stay in our home, we have a strict no drugs policy.

Pets

Although animals can be very well-behaved at home, how they will behave in a new space is not a given. And nobody wants to hear a dog barking at 2am or a cat meowing

Unfortunately, the costs of cleaning up after the animal are enormous in order to avoid allergies for the next guests.

And then there's the problem of smell: nobody who has an animal thinks their house smells bad. But anyone who enters the house will smell it immediately. The house would have to be open for 2 or 3 days for the smell to disappear and that's very expensive.

Any violation of this rule will incur an extra cleaning fee.

Parties

For us, the safety and well-being of hosts, guests and the community in general are a priority, so parties and events of any kind are forbidden in the apartment.

Airbnb and Booking take this issue so seriously that in the event of a complaint, the booking is canceled and the guest is not entitled to any compensation.

Garbage and recycling

Please dispose of your garbage in the bin on the day you leave the property. We appreciate your help in separating recyclable materials. The location of the garbage cans can be found in the House Manual.

This small step makes a big difference to the environment and will help us avoid a fine.

Before you leave, wash and put away the dishes and kitchen utensils you have used.

Accidents

Accidents happen. If you damage something, let us know as soon as possible so that we can take care of it.

It is expensive to arrive at the property and discover damage that could lead to your next stay being canceled because there is no time to repair it. In this case, we will request a compensation
