The cottage had everything you needed and more! spotless clean lovely towels soft big and white. Our dog loved the garden just open the door and out he went, would recommend to all my family and friends.

Idyllic setting for peaceful getaway

Lovely setting for countryside and coastal walks without driving. Easy to get to visit many places by car further afield. Really enjoyed our stay.

Farm stay

We stayed in a converted milking parlour and had a great quiet stay. Just the place as a base to tour or sit and read a book. Great hosts, clean and everything you need there, what more could you want?

From meeting Phil , and then the lovely 2 ladies, was a pleasure, not in your face just a nice hallo. All you want in the kitchen and a great big bathroom.Safe closed in area for the dog and 2 pubs with in a 5 minute drive or 15 minute walk .Will be on the list for a return.

Short getaway

This was a lovely well equipped, compact cottage ideal for two people. It’s in a quiet location, but with good access to the key towns and beaches on the North Cornwall Coast.

Excellent wee farm cottage

Great cottage for the two of us plus our dog. Secure area for the dog so could leave the door open. Good size bathroom and excellent new shower. Just wasn’t as near Port Isaac as we thought we would be.

Very relaxing

Very comfortable, cosy place to relax after a long walk. We lived the shower to revive our muscles. Cottage well equipped for our needs. Loved the cheeky cows on the farm We needed to relax and have peace from our lives back home and that’s what we got. Thankyou so much

Short summer break

Stayed in wheel lodge for a short 4 night stay in the Summer school holidays. Accommodation just right as a base for x 2 people and our dog. Good facilities and everything you needed for a short stay. Comfy and clean - there were a fair few well established cobwebs in the bedroom and flies, but this is to be expected in a working farm. A fly swat would be useful though - especially for a quiet undisturbed sleep at night. All linen, bathroom and utensils absolutely spotless though. Owners were lovely and very helpful. Excellent communication - lovely to have a little welcome pack on arrival. Very welcome touch so you can put the kettle straight on whilst unpacking. Good secure garden for the dog. Area is beautifully quiet - incredibly so in fact. Port Isaac and Gavene in short driving distance. Slight shame there is no-where in walking distance to pop of an evening. But very minor detail with all the positives of the place. If you want a chilled, peaceful and relaxing stay this is definitely the place for you. I would have no hesitation recommending or returning.

You should have let me know when I popped over and spoke with you to ask you if everything was O.K., I would have been more than happy to give the cobwebs and going over, apologies they were missed. Also could have given you a fly squat to make your stay more comfortable :-). Ein wunderschöner Aufenthalt in Cornwall

Wir (2 Personen und 2 Hunde) haben einen tollen Urlaub in Cornwall verbracht. Die Ferienhäuschen (insgesamt 4 umgebaute, ehemalige Ställe) stehen auf einer Farm in idyllischer Umgebung und sind gut ausgestattet. Die Vermieterin ist sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Generell haben wir die Cornish People als ein tierliebendes (viel Hunde, die völlig entspannt sind) und freundliches Völkchen kennengelernt. Wer Ruhe und etwas Abgeschiedenheit sucht, ist auf Higher Hendra richtig. Die nächst grössere Stadt Wadebridge ist innerhalb 20 Minuten gut zu erreichen. Empfehlen können wir die dortige, jährliche Leistungsschau ROYAL CORNISH SHOW Anfang Juni, zu der regelmässig Prinz Charles vorbeischaut und ein Highlight in der Region ist. In der näheren Umgebung liegen wunderschöne, alte Küstenstädtchen, wie Polzeath, welches als Surfer-Paradies bekannt ist. Diverse Herrenhäuser, alte Kirchen und die typisch angelegten Gärten gibt es in ausreichender Zahl zu besichtigen. Hier empfehlen wir vorab im British Shop den National Trust Pass zu kaufen, da die Eintrittspreise sich auf ein hübsches Sümmchen addieren können - ab 2 Eintritten (bei 2 Personen) lohnt sich der Kauf dieses Passes.

Get away from it all

Lovely property. Lots of cobwebs so cleaning leaves a bit to be desired, but it is a farm, so did allow,, don't really think this is an excuse though. Would not stop me from visiting again

I will speak with our cleaning time to ensure they pay particular attention in these areas. We pride ourselves with clean cottages so I'm extremely disappointed that you feel the Cobwebs dampened your experience. If you had popped over to the farmhouse I would have been more than happy to rectify anything that you weren't happy with to ensure the remainder of your stay was as comfortable as possible. Excellent clean property with everything we need for our short break, comfortable bed and cosy living area. Only negative is the enclosed garden, it is not directly accessed from the property, you have to exit the rear door and through a gate to your right, also our dog easily scaled the wall/hedge, minor gripe. Natalie was very helpful on our arrival and during our stay. Would recommend this property.

Stunning property and location.

What can I say…fantastic from start to finish. The property was absolutely stunning as was the surrounding area. Hosts were so pleasant and helpful. We even got to feed the baby lamb! The little touches inside the property were fantastic. Can’t wait to revisit again in the Autumn.

Cosy Cottage

Very clean and well equipped cottage on a lovely farm. This is the second time we have stayed there and is a good base for touring the area.

Cosy little cottage

The cottage was so dinky and cosy. Very clean. No hassle with the checking in process. Great to have all utensils that are good quality and pans that don't stick! TV had basic main channels only, which isnt an issue (until it rains and you have to stay in!). Very comfy bed, very warm and cosy. Informative, wipe clean information cards, which we used alot with ideas of local eateries etc on. Owners very friendly. Had a lovely box of biscuits and milk, tea and coffee for us on arrival. Our doggies loved it. Property is driveable to nearest pub, but not really walkable. All pubs recommended on the information sheets do lovely, reasonably priced food (as we tried a few of them!). Walkers paradise. The weather was not good to us on our visit, but we managed well in avoiding getting soaked. Would highly recommend this property for a couple wanting a peaceful walking break away from tourists and hustle and bustle..

Wonderful, peaceful and comfortable holiday.

Wheel Lodge 26th July-8th August 2020 From the communication beforehand through to the whole stay, everything was perfect. Home from home and we didn’t want to leave. We were greeted by Phil who Made us feel very welcome and gave us a brief history of the farm, after this we were soon settled in with a cup of tea and some lovely biscuits left for us to enjoy after our long journey. There was everything you might need for a self catering holiday, iron, hairdryer, washing machine..everything! From the lodge we travelled to many different beaches and walked a section of the coastal path, we found it to be an ideal location and offered diversity to our days out. Higher Hendra is a small, peaceful environment and I would recommend it to anyone wanting some space away from all the hustle bustle and those who might want to travel up and down the coast as we did. We thank Angela, Phil and family for their hospitality especially during the difficult times we have all experienced this year and we hope to visit again some day.
