Welch Cottage ist ein traditionelles gebaut Steinhaus in der ruhigen, ländlichen Ortsteil von Trewalder 2 Meilen von der wunderschönen Nordküste von Cornwall und in der Nähe von Bodmin Moor. Das Fischerdorf Port Isaac, den Standort für das "Doc Martin" TV-Serie ist in der Nähe. Die beliebte Surf-Strand von Polzeath ist eine 20-minütige Autofahrt entfernt und auch Felsen, berühmt für seine Wassersportmöglichkeiten und Daymer Bucht ein beliebter Strand für Faulenzen in der Sonne, oder Rock-Pooling.
Das Haus nebenan kann auch auf Besitzer direkt gefunden werden (ref: E18212 Ruffcott) haben größere Gruppen beide oft gebucht.

Lovely cottage in rural setting

Lovely stay in lovely cottage. My only comment is the number of huge tractors which were thundering past the house. We didn’t feel safe walking the dog on the narrow lanes due to this although obviously this would be seasonal. The house is comfortable and well equipped and the back garden is a very pretty sun trap.. Overall enjoyed our visit.

Just what we needed

We considered ourselves lucky to have found such a lovely place to stay. A very comfortable and well furnished cottage in an ideal location for exploring this part of Cornwall. We would certainly like to book again.

Relaxing stay

Lovely cottage, as a dog owner would 100% recommend. Has all the facilities and amenities you need. One recommendation would be a handrail on the top of the stairs. Great location to explore North Cornwall. Thank you for the Prosecco and milk upon arrival.

Cornish hideaway

Excellent property, as per description, all facilities worked, showers were great, host was prompt in replying to queries, nice welcome pack of essentials, milk, biscuits, proscecco.... nice secluded patio with furniture. Property in tiny hamlet well off the beaten track, but only 15 minutes to Port Isaac, and tintagel, 20 minutes to Rock.

What a gem!

We have had a lovely stay at Welch's Cottage. It has everything you need and more! It was spotlessly clean, beautifully decorated, very comfy, well equipped, has a beautiful garden and the peaceful & quiet area was just what we needed. Its a great base for exploring other areas of Cornwall. There is no light pollution from street lights so the view of the dark skies and stars from the garden is fabulous and worth stepping out onto the patio to view.

Lovely cottage with great facilities

Very comfortable, very well equipped inside and out and it's cool in the heat but with great heating to be warm and cosy on chillier evenings. Perfect location for bodyboarding at Trebarwith Strand and easy drive to shop in Wadebridge and visit the lovely beaches of Trevose Head. Easy parking space and room for the 4 bikes we brought along.

Perfect cottage for people with dogs

It was hard to find as there was a diversion but we enjoyed every minute. unfortnately due to weather conditions we could only use outside seating on first eventing, but the house is also great inside :-) Missed nothing at all

A lovely week away

Great-sized cottage and very comfortable with 4 adults, 2 children and our dogs. Communication with the property owner was fantastic. Really lovely and peaceful. Well equipped. As in the property details, a car is definitely needed, but lots not far away. Highly recommend Polzeath beach. Would stay again.

Perfect family cottage

We spent a lovely week at Welches Cottage. The property was clean and has all the home comforts we needed, including a cot, high chair and stair gates suitable for our 2 year old. The cottage was very clean, well stocked and even had cake on arrival. It is perfect for families and groups with a lovely outdoor space. The pictures so not do it justice. We would definately go back particularly as the location is so beautiful and well placed for lovely beaches.

Cosy cottage for New Year's Eve

Welch Cottage is very comfortable and Sharon was very helpful. It is extremely well equipped - we loved the wood burner and lots of sofas in the sitting room, and the kitchen had absolutely everything we needed for a slap up New Year's Eve dinner. The showers are great, the only tiny (really tiny) let down was the size of the towels which were a bit small. We're planning to return in the summer to take advantage of the patio, bbq and french windows!

Great stay

There were only 3 of us, so very spacious and would also be plenty of room for 5 or 6. Cottage was well equipped and all instructions were clear and concise. Nice touch to have tea, coffee, sugar, milk, locally made cake and a bottle of prosecco on arrival. Generally very clean, except for bath mat. Generally very comfortable, although matress in master bedroom could do with replacement. All in all a great cottage and lovely location.

Gorgeous cottage and garden!

The cottage has got beautiful traditional features like Cornish slate and a huge fireplace with log burner, but it is also modern and very clean. It was so well equipped with everything we could possibly have needed, which was wonderful. The cottage is well located as you are within easy travelling distance of many, many gorgeous beaches and coves, and places of interest like Bude, Padstow and The Eden Project. We love Cornwall and have our favourite places to go. But this holiday we discovered Port Quin for the first time... where we got engaged on the cliff top! So a very special place and holiday for us :-) Sharon, the owner, was so kind and helpful with anything that we needed. She also made us feel very welcome with the milk, fresh flowers and cake left for us on our arrival! A gorgeous cottage and garden - we would definitely consider returning!

Delightful cottage, great location and the perfect home from home....

Enjoyed a superbly relaxing week at this lovely cottage which has heaps of charm and lots of stylish and homely touches ( including flowers and cake and a friendly welcome from Sharon and Neil on arrival). Extremely well equipped property with everything you could need and a spacious, enclosed and well maintained garden which was great for our dog (although there is a steep flight of steps to the lawn area which may prove tricky for some and watch out for the step up from the patio). Rather unusual to have a shower and sink as part of the main bedroom rather than a separate en suite, but a good shower and also a decent sized bathroom and downstairs toilet to cater for all. Excellent food and very dog-friendly at 'The Bettle and Chisel' in Delabole and well supplied local supermarket. Really could not fault this delightful cottage. A great location from which to explore Port Isaac, Padstow and The Eden Project and the perfect home from home to return to at the end of a busy day.

Fabulous time in Cornwall

We loved staying in Welch's Cottage. It is in a great location for exploring the surrounding area although some might find it a little isolated we enjoyed coming back to the peace and quiet. The property is tucked away in a tiny hamlet accessed via single track lanes which were a little tricky to navigate at times especially with the local farmers zooming up and down them in their tractors!!! The house itself was great and provided pretty much everything we needed apart from food. The welcome cake was delicious, so delicious in fact that we had to email Sharon to find out where it was from - a bakery called Malcolm Barnecutts - so we could buy another one (we all came back from Cornwall stuffed with cake and pastys!). The only negatives were not having enough hangers in the bedrooms and somewhere to hang wet towels after showering and the shower cubicles look like they need a bit of tlc. Overall we had a fabulous time and would highly recommend Welch's Cottage, thank you Sharon!

Wonderful cottage

The cottage exceeded our expectations! It was as described but in had an extra really nice feel to it, which you can't get from photos and words. Customer service from Sharon was excellent and we'd definitely recommend it to family and friends and hope to come back ourselves. The location is great for north coast beaches and we did a lot of running and cycling around the local villages. The outside table and chairs catch the sun to the end of the day and it was lovely for sitting out after a day on the beach with the glow of a bbq. Inside the kitchen and dining area is really practical and there's enough stone floor space to not need to be over-tidy when you come in from the beach! The weather was good but a couple of days were damp outside so it was great to be able to easily advance the heating and the house warmed wonderfully. Outside there was plenty of room for a couple of cars and we had four cycles too which were easily kept secure on the patio. There was a nice supply of dishwasher tablets, loo roll etc which was a thoughtful bonus and we had everything we needed. There were fresh flowers and a terrific Victoria sponge when we arrived and that got things off to a great start! Thoroughly enjoyed our time here - there were 5 of us, 2 parents and three lads, 16, 18 and 21 - all active and all very keen to enjoy this homely property again!

Sehr nettes Cottage in einem kleinen Weiler und gut für Ausflüge in die Umgebung. Wir haben Gärten bis nach Fallmouth und an der Küste Newquay Port Isaac und Tintagel besucht, am Abend die Küche und die Couch genossen.

Zu Gast bei Sharon painter

Neil & Sharon Painter. We love North Cornwall and spend 3 or 4 weeks a year holidaying on the this beautiful coast with our children. We have family who are Cornish living close by, we find this a quaint, unspoilt, undiscovered village. Set within beautiful Cornish countryside and a stones throw from some lovely local beaches. We both have experience in the hospitality industry and enjoy spending time here with our family and friends in our little bit of heaven.

We love Welch's Cottage because of it's character and charm, built a couple of hundred years ago as a farm workers cottage, it has now been modernised to include the luxuries of 21st century living whilst still retaining it's olde world feel.
