Thank you for your feedback. We take all guest concerns seriously, but would like to add some information / context that was missing from the review in order to give a fair and complete picture. Construction: We fully understand that noise is disruptive, and we're genuinely sorry it affected your stay. Construction work on Mallorca is regulated by local rules that prohibit noise during the summer months. After informing us of the issue, we consulted our lawyer who confirmed that the correct course of action during an active violation is to contact the police immediately so the incident can be documented in real time — this is the only method that actually stops the noise and ensures compliance. It is completely understandable that our guest wished to not get involved with the police during her vacation. However, with us not being there ourselves to report in real time, this meant that we needed a middleman to notify the police - in this case our lawyer - ultimately prolonging the process and making it more difficult to take concrete action against the construction site. Nonetheless, we offered our guest a full refund twice should she wish to leave the property, once at the time of arrival and once the day after. Ultimately our guest chose to be compensated with a 25% discount. Cockroaches: The guest reported finding 2 dead cockroaches in a bathroom cupboard. Cockroaches are a well-known, island-wide challenge in Mallorca (and much of Spain) due to the climate, and their occasional presence is not an indicator of poor hygiene or inadequate cleaning. That the two cockroaches found were dead is in fact a direct and positive result of our active, ongoing pest control measures — it shows the treatment is working, not that anything was overlooked. Wi-Fi: Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We have not received any prior complaints regarding the Wi-Fi - it is available throughout the house and have been used without issue by guests as well as family members working remotely from there. However, please note that it is a 475 sqm property with extensive outdoor areas so signal strength may vary in individual corners. Deposit: The deposit was never actually paid by the guest, at check-in or at any point during the stay even though it is stated on our Vrbo site that a deposit is required. Additionally, upon reminding the guest of the deposit (prior to arrival) she informed us that it would be made via bank transfer at arrival. However, this was discovered when preparing for check-out. Re other points raised: As soon as the AC and toilet issues were reported, we immediately sent our property manager to address them, and when the guest mentioned water pressure in the showers, we fixed the shower heads right away. We of course find it very unfortunate that you had this experience. However, we did offer you multiple solutions during your stay and made sure to address every issue as quickly as possible. We're sorry the noise issue could not be fully resolved to your satisfaction during your stay, and we remain happy to answer any questions future guests may have about how we handle situations like this.
