Very Short Stay!

We were scheduled to stay 5 nights, but were only able to stay 1 night due to the restrictions traveling to and from the property. The property itself is very family friendly.

The day before and day of your trip, you were encourage not to go due to the Lahaina fires. We offered you full refund, reschedule and yet you still insisted on going. We told you that services might be disrupted and you would be taking precious resources from the locals of Maui, and yet you insisted. You then showed up to the condo and complained about power to my property managers who had just lost their homes in the fires. This was the day after the fire. We were mortified of your behavior and entitlement during this crisis.

Best Trip Ever!

My family and I had an awesome vacation at Kahana Sunset. The location is perfect and the grounds are beautiful. We fell in love with the private beach, pool and turtles. Nicole and Aaron’s condo had everything we needed and was clean and comfortable. Great view from both decks. We would definitely stay here again!

Nice spot on Maui

Good spot in Kahana. Close to Napilli beach, a nearby plaza and more. The condo grounds are great. Private beach, nice pool, bbq area and turtles swimming near the shore. The condo is spacious, has a nice upper and lower deck and parking at the door.

Excellent family vacation

This property was perfect for our family of 5 (3 teens). We loved the quiet location with easy access to the pool, beaches, a great view, etc…Communication with our host was easy and efficient. Lots of storage, towels, etc… Would be nice to have some basic supplies like cling wrap and foil, salt, sugar, etc…included (some spices and coffee filters were left). Thanks for a great time…we hope to be back some day!!

Amazing location for our 3rd stay in Maui

This is our 3rd stay on Maui, and this time we brought my parents and sister. D10 was an amazing condo, spacious and clean. Amazing stay

We came to Maui for a few days and LOVED this property! The location was nice, easy to find and access. The view was great, had a private beach access with a turtle sanctuary!! I was IN LOVE! The home was lovely, had a nice layout and style. I loved the wood artwork. Literally everything was perfect for our stay! I’m going to recommend this property for friends and family, and it will be on our top stay next time we come back!

The property was extremely clean and well kept. A 7 minute walk to smalll shops and eatery.

Well kept and situated, would definitely book again. The walk to the pool was 2 minutes and the beach just beyond. The property grounds were well kept and the views breathtaking. Relaxed, calm atmosphere, great for all ages. Bedrooms/bathrooms are upstairs, opposite ends and are very private. Added touch was the washer/dryer. Downstaris open floor plan with deck views...amazing!

Good stay could use updating

Location is good. There were quite a few ants. Parking is very tight. Other than that we had a great time. I would suggest a little updating to the guest and master bedroom.

Great time and I would return.

This was a wonderful place to stay, great location, great private beach, wonderful sunset views. Superbly maintained property and staff was always friendly. Couple of minor issues with unit. moldy shower curtains, dishwasher worked but needs some repairs, more than one trash bag would have been nice, and lastly there were no lids.for the cooking pots or pans.

Perfect Place to Relax

Kahana Sunset is right on the beach. We started each morning watching whales or turtles from the beach while we had our morning coffee. It is very close to a number of beautiful snorkeling spots so you aren't spending all day driving. The staff does a wonderful job keeping the hotel grounds clean. We would stay again! What would make it even better would be a true hot tub verses just warm and an air conditioner in the second bedroom. Again those weren't deal breakers. We loved it!

Relaxing time!

Location was wonderful. We really enjoyed barbecuing. The grills are great. It would have been useful to have a sponge/scrub for dishes. And perhaps some condiments and spices. Other than that, we appreciated the beach chairs, lots of beach towels. We had trade winds, so we were able to turn off the air conditioner at night in the master bedroom since it was very noisy. We had five adults and we all loved it.

Great Condo!

We loved it here - it was close enough to town to Lahaina Historical District to get there in just a few minutes but also not in the crazy/busy/noisy areas. The condo was very nice itself, loved that it had 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms so we didn't have to share with the other couple. The washer/dryer combo was also great! Beautiful view from the top deck! We didn't get to use the beach here at all because it was December and there was a storm brewing the whole week but I'm sure at other times of the year when the surf isn't so high it's a great place to get wet. We did however go sit out at the provided lounge chairs and watch the sunset several nights, PERFECT area for that! We would definitely visit again!

Unaware second bedroom had no air conditioning and was warm at night with fans and window open. Unaware that main bedroom suite had an open concept bathroom to stairs. Lack of supplies to include no soap or Kleenex in either bathroom, only one roll of paper towels for 8 days, and no foil for BBQ.

Great place but needs air con and a couple of basic kitchen staples

The location and layout of this property were ideal. General facilities of the complex were great Things to be mindful of is there is no aircon. The master bedroom has a portable unit by the window but nothing downstairs in the living area or in the second bedroom which meant little sleep for two people in there The property had no dishwasher tablets or basic cooking items. We managed to borrow from a lovely neighbor who owns the property nextdoor and she said that the expectation is for basic supplies.

Vacation 2022

We LOVED the unit! It had a great view! The condo had a good supply of cooking pans and utensils we needed for preparing meals. Definitely had plenty of space for the 4 of us. The washer and dryer in the unit definitely came in handy and we all wished we had arrived with less clothes because we had the washer and dryer. The pool was refreshing to swim in, the beach had nice soft sand and we had sea turtles came in at night to sleep. We never had the opportunity to use the outside grills on the property. Bring your binoculars if you are there during whale season so you can get a close look watching them splash around with the babies. Totally loved our stay and hope we will be able to return one day. Would definitely stay in this condo again. My only compliant…I wish we could have stayed longer!

Wonderful Space and Location

This unit is great for families because there was one bedroom with a king bed and another bedroom with a queen and a twin. The deck off the main bedroom was incredible. I sat out there with my coffee watching the whales breach! We all greatly appreciated the space the unit afforded our family. Instead of being on top of one an other, this unit gave the kids their own room. The deck space is huge! The place had most things you would need in the kitchen. The overall grounds are beautiful and the people all staying there we very great and easy to talk to. Many retirees were there for 1-3 months! That would be great some day. The only drawback is the beach is small. We drove to napili each day which was fine. The beach at Kahana Sunset is great to hop in a cool off and the pool was wonderful! We would definitely stay here again.

Whales Galore

Overall a great stay. A couple of things to note: the small pool is definitely not a hot tub, which was a bummer. But the pool was a nice temp. There was almost no beach during our stay (late February), but this may be different other times of year. Our unit was comfortable, with a partial ocean view. Kitchen could be better stocked with a few basics. It could have been a little cleaner; some dishes needed additional cleaning prior to use. Due to weather (high winds and rain) travel to other parts of the island were necessary. Without knowing the normal weather patterns, it seems like other times of year may be more ideal at this spot. But we did see TONS of whales - nearly every time we looked at the ocean we saw whales spouting and breaching. Quite remarkable.

Fine but not as expected

The grounds are beautiful and the Condo is average. Stayed 4 nights. Very small beach. Pool is nice. There is only a portable AC unit in the master bedroom so it was very hot especially for sleeping. The shower curtains were gross in both bathrooms. On our last morning we packed up and decided to go for a walk on the beach. Came back at 10:30 to leave and we had been locked out of our unit with all of our luggage and my phone inside! Luckily my friend had her phone and we called and got a rude guy who after some arguing gave us a code to get back in and then hung up on me when I asked why we were locked out before checkout time. Won’t stay here again mainly because of the rude person and lack of AC. Feel the it was misleading in the description to say it has AC.

Great Location

Stayed mid November 2019. Did have concerns prior to booking about there only being A/C in the master. After communications with Property Management, decided to book due to the location and space of the property. Tradewinds are not an every day occurrence and the location is not in the best location to optimize when there are winds (another condo to the front and a wall in the back). Although the master is comfortable to sleep, the master bath is outside the door to the bedroom. It does get warm/hot in the upstairs space between the master bath and second bedroom and was warm when getting ready to go out in the evening. We did have an issue with mold on both shower curtains. Called on Sunday and replaced on Tuesday. Not sure when the condo was renovated but the condo did show wear. The beach is great and chairs were available every day. Did see one turtle. Overall the condo was average.

Thank you. We provided your feedback to our on site manager. Had I have known about the shower curtain, I would have gotten one out much quicker. We do now keep extras on hand in the unit, just in case. Our condo was just remodeled with fresh paint, and updates in 2018. We deep clean twice a year and We have a deep clean scheduled for this next month. Thanks for the feedback. We have pretty high standards, so we take this feedback seriously and replace items missing or broken etc, as needed. This is our home away from home so we want it to be perfect for all guests.

Perfect unit near Kapalua Bay

We had a wonderful time at this property. The owner and property management company exceeded our expectations with communication and kindness. The unit is exactly as described. You walk in, the kitchen is right there, and that morphs into a dining room and open space with a tv with cable. A wonderful outdoor patio overlooks a green space/part of the pool/part of the ocean. All bedrooms and bathrooms are upstairs. You walk up a small flight of stairs and then the rooms split at the top. The master bedroom was perfect - and had a great view of the ocean from the upstairs patio. The guest bedroom was perfect for our family - with a queen bed and twin bed, with an ensuite bathroom. There are no bathrooms downstairs - FYI. They had beach toys and 2 beach chairs for use. We didn't notice until afterwards but there were community boogie boards out by a dining area. The pool was nice - it was not heated which took a little adjustment but by the time we left, it felt warm. The little smaller pool - from the photo, we thought it was a hot tub, but is actually a kiddie pool. No hot tub. The ocean is an extremely short walk. During November, the waves were very strong and we were not able to spend much time at the beach at the unit. But I understand that at different times of the year, you can. We ended up spending a lot of time at Kapalua Bay which was a less than 5 minute drive from the unit. We absolutely loved our stay and would highly recommend!

Our family started coming to Kahana Sunset 20 years ago to escape the cold, Alaskan winters. We fell in love with the property and have been returning one to two times per year every year, since then. We've tried several other locations on Maui when we couldn't get a unit at the Kahana Sunset and nothing ever quite measured up to the beach, onsite amenities and location of the Kahana Sunset. My wife and I did a last minute trip to Maui, in February of 2017 after getting 16 inches of snow in Alaska and had to stay off the property, as the complex was full. However, we actually ended up coming up to the Kahana Sunset beach almost every day and while there decided we had dreamed about this long enough and put an offer in on our unit (D10) right away. We had missed out on two other chances to purchase units and it was not going to happen a third time. Since then, we have been upgrading the unit with new paint, furniture, lighting and housewares. We want our guest to feel like they have everything they need to enjoy their trip and spend time making memories. Just bring your camera, swimsuits and flip flops.

Location. location, location! The complex is between Kapalua and Kaanapali areas. Though the Kahana Sunset has the best beach of all, you are just 5 minutes away from Kanaapali Beach, Whalers Village and Kapalua Bay. Shopping and dining are just minutes away and nothing beats morning walks down to the Farmers Market at Honokowai for samples of fresh fruit, vegetables and baked goods on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. It's just a two minute drive to Merriman's for Happy Hour. We love this property and are very mindful about the experiences that our guest have while on island. That is why we immediately remodeled the unit during our first stay in May 2017. You will enjoy the fresh clean design and amenities of our unit. We have been coming to Maui for 20 years and are available for recommendations for dining, shopping and activities to make your trip special.

The beach is where you start and end your day's at Kahana. A cup of coffee while sitting on the seawall and listening to the ocean is a great way to start the morning. The turtles are very active then and often times are riding the surf at the water's edge. In the evening, the sunsets with a beverage is a must, this is how the complex earned it's name. Sunsets are always spectacular and are the perfect way to end your day or start your night. The grounds on Kahana are lush and well manicured. You can walk the grounds and all plants are identified with the name plates. There are fruit trees and an onsite herb garden that is available for guest to add fresh herbs to your meals or sunset cocktail. The bay has turtles and manta rays that call it home. You can literally swim with the turtles just steps from the unit. There is also great snorkeling on the right hand side of the beach. The fish and coral are colorful and abundant. From October to February you can watch the whales that migrate from Alaska to have their calves breach from the comfort of your beach chair.
