This beautifully refurbished and fully furnished 17th Century villa featuring a 30ft high timber ceiling is situated in the heart of Galle Fort.The villa is just 400m from the Galle Fort beach.It is also walking distance to the many shops, galleries , restaurants, historical sites and the ramparts of the fort that overlooks the ocean. The ocean views from the ramparts are absolutely spectacular! It is also a 5 mins walk to the cove beach of the fort a perfect spot for sunbathing and swimming.

I am the owner of the villa. My family have generational ties to this historical site that is the Dutch Fort in the coastal town of Galle.

Galle Fort has over a 300 year history. The fort was first constructed by the Portuguese who ruled Sri Lanka's Coastal areas for a century. In the 17th Century the Dutch conquered the coastal areas of the Island.The Fort was fortified and was then the headquarters of the Dutch East India Company.Today many of the 17th Century buildings are still in tact. The fort is a fascinating blend of the old and the new worlds and a vibrant place with shops, galleries ,restaurants, museums, churches and heritage homes. A history lovers dream, it's cobblestoned streets take you through a fascinating historical journey.The ramparts of the fort is a marvellous spot to enjoy gorgeous ocean views and sunsets.The golden sand beach is perfect for sun bathing.

It has been described by our guests as an 'oasis' of calm.
One of the few original 17th Century homes left in the fort it's known to have been the residence of a wealthy Merchant of the Dutch East India Company. The villa has modern day comforts including airconditioning and free wifi but still manages to retain that Old World charm!
