The cozy cottage was very comfortable and peaceful surrounded by the trees. It was clean and the kitchen was outfitted to prepare some meals and grill on the charcoal grill. We enjoyed a bonfire and took a hike by the river. It was a great place to relax after exploring the area.

If we could give this 12/10 stars we would. This property is INCREDIBLE! Everything from the second we walked in exceeded our expectations. Immaculately clean, modern & yet still very cozy as it’s nestled in the woods along the river. We cannot wait to make the this trip an annual one for our family. Fantastic rental with very accommodating owners. The proximity to Traverse City and the Centre Ice Arena (we were in the area for a week long goalie camp), the amenities, the space and the interior was absolutely perfect. I was able to work remotely all week thanks to the WiFi as well. Perfect week long getaway!

A Magical Stay

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This was a lovely home nestled in the woods where the architecture of the home itself (clerestory and skylight windows throughout) made it feel like we were immersed in nature itself for the entire stay. The wrap around porch was also a winderful place to sit, eat and enjoy the forest. The property is near a state forest campground so the surroundings were beautifully remote feeling with uninterrupted trees and the rustic walkway to the Boardman river was nice. We would highly recommend as a quiet retreat from hectic lives and busy schedules. The house had everything needed for a comfortable stay.

The location is secluded yet is close to whatever we needed - lots of hiking and biking access. Will definitely stay here again. Another great trip to the Cozy River Cottage! This is our 3rd year and it didn’t disappoint! Fishing, rock hunting, some shopping and hanging out with great friends in a beautiful setting were on the agenda and this trip checked all the boxes!! The communication with the host prior to the trip was easy with quick responses. The house has everything you need! Thank you for another great year!

It was very clean and roomy, even for being a little on the smaller size overall. Beds were comfortable, everything was working, clean and in order. We didn't go at the prettiest time of year but it was still a really nice property - even better in the summer I am sure. Would highly recommend!

Our stay along the Boardman River

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This was our 2nd visit. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay the 1st visit hence the 2nd visit. We really enjoy the seclusion and the quietness associated with the property. The Boardman River runs through the back of the property which adds a nice touch. We brought our dog and he too thoroughly enjoys the property and the river. Our only complaint(s)and a minor complaint at that, would be that the floors inside the property were not clean. It appears to vacuum cleaner was broken. And then the grass wasn’t cut although that’s not a big deal. Other than that, it’s one of our favorite properties up North. Highly recommend!

Great for recreation

Very new house in serene environment, surrounded by woods including a little stream in the back of the property. We liked the seclusion, yet not too far from Traverse City, beaches, wineries (15-30 minutes drive).

Cozy Cottage

We had a fantastic time at this beautiful home. The glass windows and huge deck allowed for great visibility of the changing colors on the trees. Taking a walk on the trail by the river is such a nice way to start the day. Wonderful place and comfy beds.

A beautiful & relaxing spot!

This property is gorgeous. Very clean, very peaceful and sits along the boardman river. 20 min drive to Traverse City but away from everyone. We loved the layout and everything was top notch! This is a must!

Perfect girls weekend getaway

This property was the perfect space for all of us… Plenty of beds, bathrooms, and the living area was so cozy with the fireplace… The outside is absolutely beautiful and the river was so fun to walk down to… Close enough to Traverse City to do shopping, but also go to other towns nearby. This is a place. I will definitely come back to and recommend to others. My group of girlfriends do an annual trip every year and this was a perfect choice.

First impression of house and property was amazing! You will not be disappointed in this choice. Home was well supplied. You may want to bring a few more kitchen towels if you plan on washing several dishes. We enjoyed the peaceful river and walks through the wooded area and Brown Bridge road.
