Built-in the 1840s, the charming Georgian Belmont farmhouse still retains its original Coach house and Stables that sit within a large English-style garden.
The Space:
Coachman’s Rest Cabin is located in the country town of Sorell, Tasmania. Nearby Bangor Vineyard Shed, Royal Tasmanian Botanical Gardens, and Port Arthur Tours just 53 minutes away. A comfortable stay set in a tranquil garden setting, with serenading birds, vibrant foliage, and even spot native wildlife around the area.
Complete with easy access to water, split air conditioning, a kitchenette, cooking equipment, and excellent bathroom facilities including a waterless eco-friendly compost toilet, hand basin, and shower (gas heated for hot showers). It focuses on satisfying people’s needs with natural resources and processes to save water through using eco-friendly toilets to save the environment.

Guest Access:
Guests will have access to the tiny house and its surroundings, including the main garden and parking on site.

Coachman’s Rest Cabin is located within the township of Sorell, Tasmania. A convenient starting point to explore local markets, farmlands, vineyards, distilleries, and Tasmania’s historic convict settlements.
Hobart, Dunalley, and Richmond are all within a 12-28 minute drive of the property.
Our local recommendations:
- Salamanca Market is a Tasmanian street market open every Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
- Bangor Vineyard Shed is an award-winning vineyard that provides excellent dinners, fine wines, and a relaxed ambiance.
- Port Arthur Tours is available, known as a UNESCO world heritage-listed convict settlement with more than 30 historic buildings to explore.
- Sorell Fruit Farm is an award-winning attraction and orchard farm that allows visitors to "pick their own fruits," when in season.
- Royal Tasmanian Botanical Gardens is home to a wide variety of unique collections, including the country's sole Subantarctic Plant House.
Getting Around:
By car: We are happy to negotiate airport pickup and transport in our Tesla Model 3 to and from the Hobart CBD if needed. Please contact your land host 48 hrs before arrival to make the necessary arrangements.
- To/from the CBD would be $60 each way.
- To/from the airport would be $30 each way.
By public transport: We recommend guests to travel by private vehicle or rent a car. Thank you.
Other Things to Note:
- No WiFi
- No pets allowed on the property
- No smoking allowed on the property
- Mobile reception is good for all networks
- No unregistered guests or visitors are allowed
- Some areas are shared, such as the BBQ grill, chairs, etc.
- Please note there will be some road noise as the tiny house is situated in Sorell
- Don’t forget to close the windows and lock the doors when leaving the tiny house
- Make sure to turn off the lights, air conditioning, and electronics (e.g., especially chargers)
- We would like to advise guests that longer stays or later check-outs will incur an additional charge.

- Due to the nature of the property, abundant wildlife may be present on the property
- Keep in mind that BBQ grills and outdoor fire pits are not available during a total fire ban
- In order to maintain the cleanliness and functionality of our compost toilets a minimum additional cleaning fee is applied for stays of 5 nights or more. We appreciate your cooperation in ensuring a hygienic experience during your stay.
