Hunter Valley Stays is proud to present Wilderness Grove Estate. This spectacular self-contained accommodation is centrally located on Wilderness Road in Lovedale and is located just 2.5 hours north of Sydney and a 35 minute drive to Newcastle. Guests staying at Wilderness Grove will experience a stay within a picturesque two story main residence and its guest cottage, located 200 metres from each other, together accommodating up to 14 guests within 7 luxurious bedrooms, 5.5 bathrooms, 2 living and dining rooms, 2 kitchens along with extensive entertaining areas, a fun filled games room including pool table, plus a sparkling pool and a firepit.

Exquisitely set in the middle of a 25 acre mature olive grove, Wilderness Grove is perfectly located to enjoy the Hunter’s finest cellar doors, restaurants, cafés, wedding venues, activities and golf course. If you can tear yourself away from this beautiful property, your choices are endless starting with Jimmy Jones across the road, closely followed by Saltire Estate, Adina, Mockingbird Café, Gartleman wines, Allandale and Capercaillie Wines, Lillinos Italian, Stomp Wines, Leaves & Fishes and The Deck Café. Guests will enjoy only a short drive to Hunter Valley Gardens and moments from concert venues such as Bimbadgen, Hope and Roche Estates, as well as wedding venues such as Wandin Valley, Petersons, Moravia Park, Dark Horse, and the Lovedale Chapel.

We must admit, you will find it hard to leave Wilderness Grove as this property everything you need for a joyous stay with family and friends. Everything has been catered for to make you feel right at home. The Hamptons inspired main residence is flanked on most sides by open vine-covered decks and second-storey balconies. Plantings of iceberg roses and clipped hedges lead you to the front door and inside mirror finish floorboards, high ceilings and light-filled living spaces. A grand open lounge complete with wood-burning fireplace is the heart of the home and it opens on one side to an outdoor living area and on the other to a combined dining and brand-new shaker-style kitchen. A guest powder room, laundry and huge en-suited bedroom complete the ground floor.

Upstairs are another three huge bedrooms all with ensuites and French doors opening to private balconies with views overlooking the gardens and surrounding olive grove and mountains beyond. Please note the combustion fireplaces in the bedrooms are not operational, however the entire main house is heated and cooled by multiple multiple reverse-cycle air-conditioners, with an air conditioner in each bedroom and one provided in the main living area. Outside, an inviting swimming pool is wrapped in travertine paving and beautifully landscaped with a water feature. Near the main house is also a separate games room with a pool table, fridge for guest refreshments, and a large TV with Kayo sport and streaming apps available for guest login, as well as a firepit just steps away so you can swap stories and relax under the stars. Sonos Sound Systems are installed in the Main House and the games room.

The 3 bedroom, 1.5 bathroom guest cottage is a short drive from the main house, set along a private road among an established kitchen-style fruit orchard and offers private peaceful views over the surrounding countryside. Ceiling fans are provided for guest comfort in each bedroom in the cottage, with a reverse cycle air conditioner provided in the cottage's living area.

Please note: Due to the close proximity to the Residence and cottage to unfenced dams, all children and toddlers are to be supervised at all times registered to stay must be heavily supervised at all times please.

** Please note: the combustion fireplaces in the bedrooms of the Main House are not operational, only the downstairs wood-burning fireplace in the lounge room is operational. This is available during the cooler months only (May - September). **

Please note, Wilderness Grove Estate has exterior security cameras to monitor the exterior of the home only for the protection of the property.  Security cameras are commonplace at many of our rural properties. Footage is private and remains the property of the owner, and will only be used for insurance liability reasons, to monitor occupancy and other policies noted in our Terms & Conditions. They, in no way, are there to infringe upon the expectation of privacy of guests in these exterior areas. To disable or obscure the cameras is prohibited and may result in loss of security deposit or eviction.

Please note that a $40 booking fee is applicable for all bookings made.

SECURITY DEPOSIT
A security deposit/bond of $1,500 is required for your stay and is payable as a credit card pre- authorisation. This will be processed approximately 24 - 48 hours before your arrival, so please ensure the funds are available at this time.

NOTES
A 1-night stay may be accepted at discretion of Management within 14 days of the prospective arrival date. A surcharge is applicable on the 1-night stay, this will be calculated by our staff and quoted to you before the booking is confirmed.
Weekend Public Holiday, Easter, Christmas, and New Year periods require a minimum 3 night stay full weekend rate.

Concert and special event weekends in the Hunter Valley will have a set minimum night requirement to stay and may attract a surcharge.

Pleasant, Enjoyable, Relaxing Stay

Wilderness Lodge was just what we needed for our family to have Christmas all together for the first time for some years. The property provided the private facilities required, was in a great location and enabled everyone to relax and enjoy the break. Recommended.

Beautiful house

House is perfect! We had a large group and plenty of space, bathrooms and room to move. Lovely pool to cool off in and walking distance to lovely coffee shop and winery. Would definitely book this house again!

Great property for a large group. Cottage was a bonus. Well equipped kitchen, very handy games room and wonderful pool. Plenty of room for everyone.

House was as advertised, but needs some maintenance. We had a smoke detector short on the upper floor filling the house with smoke, detector expired in 2010. Water pump also shorted causing some issues

Nice house but RUN DOWN and ISSUES

The place was well situated and a nice house. Unfortunately, the water water not working in the cottage and toilets were not flushing, the doors were left open in the upstairs room causing the carpet to be wet and then had a mouldy unpleasant smell, with bird poo on the sheets, the chairs and deck area in the cottage was extremely dirty, broken tile in the kitchen as a danger for cutting yourself, the beds were not configured as asked for, even though they asked for the configurations a month prior. The company was very helpful and were able to assist with most issues, the house is in a good spot and was good for a group of friends and family. However, for the over 5k we spent for two nights, this was not satisfactory and should be presented in a good condition, without having to make contact with he company several times for them to come back and fix issues.

As you were aware we had a very large storm in the Hunter Valley that caused quite a bit of damage and destruction to the area and properties, the doors that were open in the upstairs bedroom, the bird poo on the sheets, wet carpet and the water issue were due to the extreme winds and rain. The housekeeping team was sent to the property shortly after you had contacted our office to change the bedding configuration, clean up the bird poo, remake the bed and soak up the wet carpet. Also, with the water not working and extremely dirty deck area in the cottage, we had our housekeeping team return to the property to restart the pump for the water as this had tripped due to the storm and clean the deck area within 30 minutes of you contacting our office. We have shared all of this with the manager of Hunter Valley Stays, their maintenance and housekeeping teams for review.
