IMPORTANT NOTICE BECAUSE OF HURRICANE DORIAN: Dorian hit the northern Islands of the Bahamas (Abaco, Grand Bahama). Our prayers are with the people on these islands! New Providence / Nassau had no impact and we only got wind with ~ 30mph and some waves at the beach but nothing that causes any damages etc. The power in New Providence got restored on Monday evening! Please note, the Bahamas have more than 700 islands and only the northern islands got hit by the hurricane! Our property has no damage of any kind, new providence is safe!!!
The Garden Cottage is located on a private Property only 50ft from the Orange Hill beach with white sand and crystal blue water! You will reach it through the Main gate in the Backyard with a small terrasse for relaxing and a beautiful area with palms and coconut trees! The Cottage itself has a bedroom with a double size bed, Rack for clothes, small working space, Bathroom with shower and a small area for cooking (Toaster, Microwave, Electric Stove, Fritch) - Everything you will need for your vacation in the Bahamas! Over the bed is a 50" Flat TV installed, and of course, Wifi and Online TV are included! Restaurants like Dinos Chonc Station, Italien Pizzaria, Louis & Steen's New Orleans Coffeehouse are in walking distance (5-10 Minutes). More Restaurants and Bars are about 15 Minutes to the east. Grocery Stores and Liquor stores are about 10 Minutes driving. The Public Bus Service is stopping directly in front of the House and will bring you within 20 Minutes to Downtown Nassau or Paradise Island.

Our host was incredibly responsive and shared lots of great recommendations for places to check out around the island. The area is in a more upscale part of the island, which we didn’t realize at first—it felt very safe, but it’s definitely easier to get around if you have a rental car. The place itself had very basic essentials, but what truly made the stay special was being directly across from a beautiful, quiet, and serene beach. The easy beach access was the standout feature and made the stay well worth it.

We loved this property. It's right across the street from the beach. We would spend our days at the beach and then have a cozy place to come back to and get cleaned up. We would definitely stay here again.

Super, super, SUPER Host

Host was responsive and extremely helpful, beyond expectation. All the amenities that you would expect are there!! The property is lovely, safe and quiet. The staff is friendly and kind, willing to help and explain (even if you’re a newbie, like me). Mercy is absolutely lovely and pleasant. When we return, we will definitely be staying here. 11 out of 10.

Perfect place for us as being right by the beach! A nicer/ larger refrigerator would be nice 😉. The cottage was fun! Thank you to Connie for helping us with the checking in process! Would love another vacay here!

The host, listed as Herman, was the worst I've ever had thru VRBO. Never contacted us with check in details. We were stranded at the airport as our cell phones wouldn't work in the Bahamas. Had to rely on WiFi. We made several attempts to contact the host but he wouldn't respond. We made several attempts to contact VRBO, and had a difficult time trying to reach a real person to help us.The "Garden Cottage" we were supposed to be in was not available. Several Taxi trips back and forth to the airport and the cottage address we were given cost us nearly 200. We finally got in touch with someone at VRBO, and we're connected with a different host. I assume from the same company. Corniela was as helpful as she could be. The problem was where they moved us to is an old run down hotel of sorts called "Viking Hill". We basically had a small hotel room.We were only supplied 2 bath towels for our 7 night stay. We were told if we needed towels to use the community washer and dryer to wash what we had. The room wasn't the worst I've ever stayed in, but certainly not what I expected and paid for. The house keeper Mercy was kind and friendly. The property itself needs major attention. The WiFi was weak and often disconnected. Couldn't watch TV or call out through What's App without a signal.We noticed several guests having the same issues. Not able to get check-in details, and not able to connect to WiFi without password.I could go on & on, but running out of characters for this post

Loved the location. Size was a little small but so was price. Cleanliness was a little on the less than perfect side. Temp/ humidity was hard to control. We were either cold or struggling with towels and clothing staying wet. Lacks counter space. Would we stay here again, sure.
