Beach Shack at Taurikura Bay

Bring the family and enjoy "Tellaro" our beach shack.

This comfy 3 bedroom bach is an ideal holiday spot, with views of Mt Manaia and Whangarei Harbour from the deck.
When we first acquired Tellaro it was very derelict and continues to be a work in progress with constant improvements

There's a large lawn for the kids, to play on. Also some of the best fishing and diving spots are right here.
Whangarei Heads is one to add to your bucket list, with so many great activities!

Theres something for everyone!

Perfect spot for a relaxing break

Loved every minute of our stay. Such a cosy Kiwi bach with everything we needed and more to make our stay super relaxed and comfortable. Comfy beds and a well stocked kitchen. Highly recommend and would love to stay again!

Amazing stay!

The bach had everything we needed. Great outside deck and umbrella. The beach close by was perfect. We can't wait to come back.

By the Beach at Tarikura

We went for a 70th Birthday party in the local hall, so the location was perfect for the occasion. Never stayed in the area so we went for a drive which was enjoyable. Thanks for letting us stay

Beautiful location and secluded beach access :)

Gorgeous outdoor space and amazing location. The beach nearby was a treat and it was so nice to be able to walk up to the house after a swim and use the warm outdoor shower. Laundry facility came in handy, and extra bathroom accessed from outside meant that we weren't crawling all over each other. It could be a bit snug for 6 adults if youre spending the whole time indoors, but we spent most of it out and about or on the deck, so it wasn't an issue.

Beautiful!

Beautiful spot! Very clean. Has everything you could possibly need. Huge lovely deck with large table for dinner etc. cool bays and beaches nearby. Kind owners when we were potentially after flooding in Auckland. We’ll be back.

Beautiful Bach

Steve’s Bach is beautiful and was very comfy and had everything we needed including Wi-Fi. The outdoor shower was excellent and the additional bathroom was great. The house had beautiful decor and nick nacks and had a special feeling about it. We thoroughly enjoyed sitting out in the sun on the spacious deck everyday we wish we could have stayed longer. In a great location with views of the ocean . We brought our 2 pets along and they had lots of space to run around in the backyard. Thanks Steve :)

Great spot

Great location. Walking distance to beach, walking trails and local tennis courts. Outdoor space is excellent. This place is a delightful kiwi bach.

A fab getaway in a stunning area at a unique bach

Arriving at the lovely Tellaro bach in Taurikura we were pleasantly amazed at the location and proximity to the wonderful bays, and mount manaia- and the big ocean beach. The house itself if a great seaside bach, with such unique and fun furnishings and very comfortable- We loved the art work, and great books and games on offer- the most enjoyed bits were the nice relaxing bathtub to soak in and the big enetertaining deck for bbq dinners and hanging out as a family. the 6 nights went in a flash- the locals were friendly and chatty and the house was a comfortable home away from home that we snuggled into instantly. the views at front to mount manaia was so special and i enjoyed doing yoga in the lounge looking up to it every morning thank you

House not safe for public use, not child friendly, and not what was advertised.

House was advertised as being safe for public use, and child friendly, however it is not. We were constantly having to watch our two year old son due to literally hundreds of old glassware and pottery, trinkets, sculptures, shells, rocks, tins, etc, that the owner had left stacked high on shelves in the kitchen and hallways. Some of the items left there were also heavy and large and could have seriously hurt a small child, let alone the risk of small children ingesting small bits of the trinkets. The high deck outside was also not safe for small children, we had to make it safe by placing a table and deckchairs over an open fall area Fireplace was left filled with rubbish and ash, with no safety guard around it Three LPG gas bottles were also left exposed on the deck, (no gas bottle safety storage locker). We regularly had to make sure our two year old son was not going up and turning on the gas nozzles, or potentially having the gas bottles fall on him Two of the stove top elements were found to be dirty and as a result smoked when being used, setting off the smoke alarm We also found half used food, sauces, salad dressings, etc, left on kitchen shelves, and in the fridge. Half used toiletries also left in bathroom and shower Dust on shelves under all the old trinkets, etc The only saving grace to this holiday rental was the actual natural environment of Whangarei Heads !! Whangarei Heads really is a stunning area Most days we were out and about exploring the area and found many many incredible areas to swim and walk
