The space
Bayfield is truly one of a kind - the ultimate blend of coastal and country living.
Only a 15-minute walk to the Mount Martha beach and shops. Set on over 8,000sqm (2 acres) of private gardens, you'll feel like the hustle and bustle of urban living is a distant memory as you relax poolside enjoying your favourite book and drink. Beyond the pool you can look across the treetops to Port Phillip Bay and watch ships sailing or amazing sunsets.
Providing the perfect retreat, the large resort style pool and spa come complete with sun lounges and umbrellas so you can spend plenty of time relaxing by the pool. The outdoor table setting and BBQ provide everything you need to roll over a lazy afternoon into a warm summer evening of outdoor eating and entertaining.
If you have children, we have you covered! While the inground trampoline is normally the highlight, we have plenty of games, books, toys, an outdoor cubby house, gazebo etc will ensure your little ones are as entertained as you are, making the most of both the indoor and outdoor spaces.
Foxtel (with movies and sport), Netflix and Wi-Fi access come included, ensuring you can relax and binge on your favourite movies and TV series.
We've included a floor plan in our pictures, but it's ideally suited for two families.
It's all on one level, so perfect for the grandparents as well!
THE POOL
The pool and spa is without doubt one of the stand out features of the property. Being North facing, it gets sun all day, from dawn to dusk. And yes, it does have a palm tree in the middle of it, to give it that 'Palm Springs' feel.
The pool has a 'beach profile' with it gently sloping from the shallow end (approx 15cm deep) to the deep end (approx 2m deep). This makes it perfect for wallowing around and enjoying drinks on a sunny day and for younger kids.
Please note that the heating for the pool and spa is listed as a seperate item. We do not have solar heating. Due to the large size of the pool (over 90 sqm) it is very expensive to run and maintain.
It takes approximately 1 day to heat up to 27 degrees. The spa is quicker, and takes about 1 hour. You will be able to control the spa temperature but not the pool.
As you can see from the floor plan, all rooms in the house not only face the pool, but also have direct access to the pool. The pool is fully enclosed with a glass safety pool fence to give you extra piece of mind if you have young children.
THE HOUSE - BEDROOMS
Main bedroom - King size bed with great views across the pool and Port Philip Bay. The main bedroom has a split system heater / air conditioner, large ensuite including bath and large walk in wardrobe.
Second bedroom - queen size bed with pool & sea views and a split system heater / air conditioner.
Third bedroom - queen size bed with pool & sea views and a split system heater / air conditioner.
Fourth bedroom / rumpus room - huge room which can have 2 x king size single bunk beds - a total of 4 single beds and a split system heater / air conditioner. Also includes a kids living area with couches and TV.
** Beds will be made up on your arrival, with fresh, professionally cleaned linen including towels.
BATHROOMS
Bathroom 1: Large ensuite off the main bedroom including spa bath, shower, vanity and separate toilet.
Bathroom 2: Bathroom that is split into 1. toilet; 2. vanity & shower; 3. vanity & bath. All 3 areas are separate so that multiple people can use this area at once. Great for multiple family living.
DINING ROOM
Right next to the kitchen, the dining room seats 10 people in comfort overlooking the pool.
LIVING ROOM
The living room is spectacular, as it overlooks the pool and tree-tops, even while sitting down. Relax watching TV, or just enjoy the view with the 360 degree fire crackling in the background.
READING AREA
A 3 seater and 2 x single seats make the perfect place for a puzzle and/or reading.
STUDY
The study area is next to the living room, and includes a desk and chair for any work needing to be done.
KITCHEN
Perfectly positioned to keep an eye on both the pool and cubby house, the well equipped kitchen includes everything you’ll need (fridge, microwave, oven, dishwasher, coffee machine, pots & pans, toaster, tea, coffee, sugar etc.).
LAUNDRY
While doing the laundry is never a favourite chore for anyone on holiday, the laundry includes a washing machine (with washing detergent) and dryer, extra fridge and easy access to the clothes line.
IMPORTANT NOTES
- Bayfield has been in our family for 20+ years, and is rented out on AirBnb all year round.
- we know all our neighbours well, and expect that all our guests respect our neighbours, keeping music down after 9pm.
- we know accidents happen, and if they do, we ask our guests to let us know ASAP.
- strictly no parties, schoolies groups, bucks/hens parties or other events.
Our house is for use by family and small groups of adult friends only. Sorry, but we cant accommodate young groups.
Guest access
You’ll have access to the entire property, including the pool, spa and entire back yard. Make yourselves at home, relax and enjoy the place. There is parking on the property for 3 cars.
The only sections that are strictly out of bounds include the area around the pool equipment and under the house.
There are external CCTV cameras placed on the entrance to the property, by the pool equipment and on the driveway.
Normal check out time is 10am, and check in 4pm. If we can, we'll always try to accommodate if these times don't suit, but during December and January, it's generally not possible.

All beds come freshly made with quality linen. We know you're on holiday, and we want you to help ensure it's as relaxing as possible.
