Wonderful property!

Our family had such a comfortable stay. We didn’t need to leave the property at all, so much to do between the pool, spa and tennis court. House was large so plenty of space for us all to spread out. Everyone really enjoyed their stay and we would love to come back to this property!

Fantastic Family Holiday Location

Merricks North Retreat is a fabulous house for family holiday, good location, great facilities, comfortable accommodation. One of our best family holidays! Only criticisms are that check in is quite late @ 4 pm but the standard of cleanliness and preparation did not reflect the 5 star price.

Perfect !!

Our stay at Merricks North Retreat exceeded all our expectations. It was clean and cosy with all the amenities we needed and didn't need (too cold for a swim in the beautiful pool). We were met by the owner who showed us around and everything was brilliant for our stay. We were in the area for a family wedding and it was great to find accommodation that could fit us all in. I highly recommend this accommodation as central spot for vineyards and other attractions.

Beautiful Home

What an amazing place to stay with family and friends for the weekend. The pool, hot tub and tennis court are incredible and so well kept. The kitchen was an entertainers dream, completely stocked with everything you would need including 2 large bbq's! Beds were super comfortable and having all linen provided was fantastic. Harry was incredibly easy to communicate with and was so understanding of everything I asked for - I could not have asked for a better host. Thank you again!

Perfection!

I stayed with my family, including grandparents, siblings and our children. Merricks North Retreat was a perfect haven for us to soak up family time and enjoy all there was to offer at this property. The tennis court, pool and hot tub were highlights for us all, but the horses in the neighboring property, the fantastic kitchen, the cleanliness of the house and property and the beautiful spaces to spend time together made the stay even more special. The location is brilliant, with great coffee and wine only short drives away. We were lucky with the weather, so didn’t get to have a fire, but this would also be lovely on cooler days/nights. Would highly recommend this property to anyone looking to make core memories with family and friends.

Few days away with friends

For 12 good friends this property is a perfect place to have fun together while having space for everyone to do their own thing. This is the second time I have stayed here and recommend the property. It is well kept and the pool and tennis court are very social in size. Tiniest niggle - no coffee pods! We got over that quickly :-). Thanks for making everything easy Harry and for sending back a pair of glasses someone left

I'll chase up the coffee pod absence with the cleaners as they must have forgotten to put some out on this occasion which i'm only learning about now. Peaceful, relaxing, enjoyable.

Spacious, very well equipped property. Fantastic pool/hot tub area. Plenty of outdoor seating. Tennis court on site. Good location. Bright bedrooms with varying degrees of comfort on the beds. Good kitchen plus outside BBQ. Three sitting areas inside, so plenty of room for large families. Three bathrooms plus one extra toilet. Showers lack decent water pressure so a little disappointing if you like a good shower. The property uses tank water so if you go at the end of a long, dry summer that could possibly be an issue. There is an office on site which was staffed by several members Monday to Friday. This is seperate to the house next to the tennis court. We only had one small issue with the gas running out on our first night which was dealt with quickly and efficiently the following day. Overall, comfortable, great stay and would recommend for a large group.

Hi Andrea, Thank you for the review and your honesty! We are glad you enjoyed your stay and the features of the property. I am very sorry about the gas issue which was entirely my oversight and glad I could resolve it quickly. While the property is on tank water, making high water pressure not feasible, we do order water in regularly, especially over summer, so there's never a risk of running out of water. We will see if we can add some type of water booster in the future to get that shower pressure up to city standards. Thank you again and we hope to see you again in the near future! The property, now called Merricks North Retreat, is centrally located on the Peninsula and while seeming hours away, is only one hour from Melbourne; while being close to towns such as Mornington and Mt Eliza. The retreat is just minutes from world-class wineries as well as beaches and is surrounded by rolling hills and fertile farmland. The closest winery is at Jackalope hotel, just a few hundred metres as the crow flies. Here you will find a wonderful cellar door, fine dining restaurant, casual restaurant and cocktail bar open to visitors and a local favourite.

Merricks North Retreat was formerly an operating cherry farm and carried the name Cherry Dale for many years. One of the old cherry trees still remains and produces fruit to this day. Over more than 20 years, the owners have lovingly renovated the cottage into today's modern farm-house and have placed big emphasis on entertaining that works in both summer and winter.
